Perhaps if you feel that this issue is so important, why don't you form and state your own opinions rather than pressing CTRL-C and CTRL-V....
Tux...you just love putting your righteous RW foot on the heads of Americans in need and pushing them under, don't you?
This is about Americans helping Americans and I don't give a crap about the money because it's the priorities that count, not your calculator.
"So what", if the PA unemployment fund is 9 Billion in debt..we are helping American families who need help during THE WORST BUSH RECESSION IN OUR NATIONS HISTORY.
Those Americans did nothing to deserve being laid off...the GOP and Bush did it to them with years of GOP leadership or "lack of". You sight BS off of message boards as fact...that is how weak your argument is.
I will say this...if there are abuses in the unemployment system, the system is designed to handle those cases...turn the people in who are abusing unemployment...but don't flush all unemployed Americans who are in need, due to the abuses of a few.
Tux...I went back and looked for your GOP comments on the following...I couldn't find where you said a word about this GOP spending on Iraq...not one word from your RW partisan mouth...
GAO Comptroller: ‘Significant’ Amount Of U.S. Funds For Iraq Funneled To Sunni And Shiite Militias
During a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing today on waste, fraud and abuse in Iraq, GAO Comptroller David Walker said that “the Iraqis have a budget surplus” which “is not being spent.” He added that oil “revenues are going up” and therefore “one of the questions” regarding Iraq reconstruction is “who should be paying?”
Citing Iraq’s rising oil revenues and the fact that the U.S. has already spent $45 billion rebuilding the country, Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) said that instead of President Bush “asking for billions” more to rebuild Iraq, the Iraqis “ought to be able to use some of their oil to pay for their own costs and not keep sending the bill to the United States.”
Meanwhile, U.S. tax money is ending up in the hands of sectarian militias in Iraq. Later in the same hearing, Walker confirmed that a “significant” amount of what the U.S. spends on Iraqi contracts is being diverted to Sunni and Shiite militias. Stuart Bowen, special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction, agreed, adding that “it is a significant problem.”
web page .........................................
Tux...so I found 45 Billion in wasted U.S. taxpayer dollars, SPENT ON THE FRIGGIN IRAQI PEOPLE...and the friggin Iraqi's could have spent their own money instead of milking US taxpayers...but that's ok with you and your RW clique.
...and you didn't say a damn word about spending US taxpayer dollars on Iraqi's, did you?
Republicans say, spend our taxpayer dollars on the Iraqi people, it's ok...but don't you dare spend another cent on American people, in need, out of a job, due to the GREAT BUSH RECESSION.
SIMPLE GOP PRIORITIES.
BTW Tux...if you can find your comments against Bush's wasting "this" 45 Billion on the Iraqi people...post it....I may have missed it.

And

Still
Won't
Answer
A
Simple
And
Direct
Question.
That's why your posts are looked upon as flat out jokes mac. You spout venom and propoganda ..... but you cannot answer a simple question with a straightforward answer. You spin and spin ... and are unable, or unwilling, to answer a simple question.
Sorry, but that's just flat out pathetic. Do us all a favor and go study some facts instead of leaving on leftist blogs and such to do your thinking for you.

YTow...I answered your question...
..you pulled numbers out of your butt that have nothing to do with the final bill that was voted on before the GOP crapped on American workers AGAIN.. on their way to their 4th of July celebrations.
Back to the subject above...YTOWN...What did you have to say about Bush's wasting "this" 45 Billion on the Iraqi people?...POST IT..
Surely a "true conservative" like you was concerned about wasting "this" 45 Billion on the Iraqi people ...post what you had to say about this wasteful spending.

You answered NOTHING mac.
Not a thing.
Let's try this again .....
What the hell does the $109 billion spending bill have to do with creating jobs? Where are the job creating parts?
Find ONE.
You can't.

Again, your labeling everyone who doesn't agree with you a republican, and claiming because they are a republican they must be for this or that.
Your a tool, a real tool. Your clueless and have no social skills at all to be able to separate individuals as individuals. Instead everyone is one group or another, black or white.
I don't care if Bush, Cheney, Bugs Bunny, Wiley Coyote or Yosemite Sam approved money to Iraq, Most of us didn't agree with it, especially when reports came out about the massive profits Iraq made from oil during our occupancy.
Until you can understand that most of us have individual thoughts and opinions, something you obviously lack, your nothing but a troll and your posts mean nothing.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Will the recession last a year?...two years?...three years?...four years?
When will the world recession end?
When will companies begin to hire again?
YTown...I'm sure you will join me and agree...we sure could use those 3 million manufacturing jobs that Bush and the GOP shipped to China...right?

I was against going into Iraq, I was against "Operation Freedom" I was against spending money to rebuild a country we are at war with, I was against pretty much everything Bush did. About the only thing I agree'd with him on is that he liked Mexican Food and PBJ sandwiches.
So how about you? What has Obama done to make you love him as much as you do?
Unlike you, I make up my opinions based on each topic, not based on a party or a leader or what a website tells me I should. I make up my mind based on what I know, what I can research, how it affects me and the people around me, and how I think it will affect the country as a whole.
Am I always right, heck no, but I am content with my opinions, and at times my stance has changed on a topic based on new information or a new point of view I hadn't previously seen.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Never mind mac.
You are incapable of answering a direct question. You are incapable of examining a law for yourself. You are incapable of taking the time to read and make up your own mind, preferring to rely on cliche and rhetoric rather than factual examination.
In truth, I expected no better from you ..... yet I am somehow still disappointed.

mac.. I have opinions, so does Florida and so does ytown, sometimes they are similar and sometimes they are different.. I remember the article when it was announced that Iraq was operating at a surplus and America was racking up debt on the reconstruction and I remember being disgusted by it. I had opinions of Bush, some good, some bad.. that was a bad one.
Maybe someday you will remove Obama's appendage from your mouth, get off your knees, and develop some objective opinions of your own regarding King Barrack, then you might be worth talking to.
Now be a man and tell us what YOU THINK the amount of the bill is and tell us from what source you got that number.

It was a waste of money. You like to do research. Go back and look at this forum when we were spending money in Iraq when Bush was still in office. Many of us right winger nut jobs were against it then..You know, when it was going on.
You won't do that because it would show how clueless you are about conservatives.
Answer YTown's question or go back to the hole you climbed out of.

Here's a thread on the topic of the war from '07 https://www.dawgtalkers.net/showflat.php?...true#Post211658Not to many people were saying "Yeah lets spend more money" back then either. But in the World according to mac, we were all for extreme spending to fund the war.

This is from the second article.. Quote:
Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., said his Republican colleagues were under great pressure to choose between Bush's Iraq strategy and public opinion against the war.
"They're not going to stick with this failed strategy," he told CBS' "The Early Show."
"How many dead, wounded and disabled are there going to be while they continue to thrust our boys into the middle of a civil war?" Biden said.
And now Obama/Binden are basically sticking to Bush's withdrawal timeline... pretty neat huh?

Mac, why do you do this to yourself? You've got people challenging you left and right (no pun intended) to answer their questions (I forget what the questions were and I barely glance at the political threads here because I know what most posters are gonna say before they say it hahaha).
Half the people are calling you a troll, and you still won't change your tactics or posting style. You can't possibly be that stubborn, & I don't think you are stupid. Have at it... to each their own.... but IMO it looks ridiculous.

BTW Tux...if you can find your comments against Bush's wasting "this" 45 Billion on the Iraqi people...post it....I may have missed it.
You know name-calling is against the rules? I take offense to being called a Righteous Right-winger when I am far from that.. Perhaps if you actually spent some time on this forum and reading and researching things, you'd see the many times I was against Bush and the Iraq war, but you only want to LABEL people because you want to believe only republicans feel the same way and that republicans are the bad guys..
Lets see.. $45 Billion wasted in Iraq... in 2008... Here's a little bit of information for you Mac.... It's not 2008 anymore and Bush is not the President anymore.. It's 2010 and Obama is president and we have other problems. But then again, i'm not disagreeing that $45 billion was wasted in Iraq in 2008, though some of that was needed but only due to Bush's misguided war that if we did just leave it alone will just cause a hole that will lead to a power struggle that can leave us in a worse situation years from now. So instead of dealing with the failed policies of yesterday, why don't you stick to the failed policies of today? But of course, you probably think everything that Obama and the Democrats are doing is just fine and dandy and will lead us to a wonderful utopia.

and once again, where do WE get the money for this?? Someone will have to pay for it.
Quote:
Those Americans did nothing to deserve being laid off...the GOP and Bush did it to them with years of GOP leadership or "lack of". You sight BS off of message boards as fact...that is how weak your argument is.
I will say this...if there are abuses in the unemployment system, the system is designed to handle those cases...turn the people in who are abusing unemployment...but don't flush all unemployed Americans who are in need, due to the abuses of a few.
You mean Bush forced Americans to live off of credit, get bad subprime loans.... and believe in using Real Estate as an investment that will always increase and never decrease? This goes beyond Bush... but it is unfortunate that Americans were laid off by record numbers.. but throwing money we do not have at the problem is not going to solve it, it is only going to create a bigger problem down the road.. Unfortunately, we do need to cut these benefits off at some point and these people will need to adapt to deal with it.. By just keeping these people on unemployment on our dime, we are giving them less incentive to innovate and find ways around their problems. 2 years should have been plenty of time for most of them to find something, even if it meant sweeping the floors of bathrooms and cleaning toilets.. No work should be below these people..
But if you really insist on throwing money at them, at least give them work to do.. Instead of extending unemployment benefits for free, have them do work around the community, pick up litter, clean parks up.. patrol the border for those willing... At least, we'd be getting something for our money at this point. That $45b billion in Iraq at least was going to try to secure our security even if it was a tad much.

question: if a troll posts on a message board, but everyone has him on ignore, does the post make a sound?

All right, I've tried to listen to Peen's advice to me, which I'm sure is correct, but it's about time to blow this whole BS you're bringing up out of the water. I'll answer your question. We wasted money in Iraq. We did. Why you and others continue to villianize one party and attempt to justify the actions of another is completely beyond me. Phil has a very good point here, and that does feel weird for me to say, but I agree with him, at least when it comes to that. *Shivers* You talk about moving jobs to China and you like to cite to articles. We live in a global economy. Companies will always try to find the cheapest way to cut costs so they can survive against their competition. The world is capitalist. So what happens in ANY country when the work force responds? Well, let me show you: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Companies-brace-for-end-of-apf-2437567795.html?x=0So that's what happens when the cost of labor rises. So what happens when the work force benefits become excessive? Well, let me show you that too: http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/110013/debate-on-jobless-benefitsCapiche?
