It's funny how fast you so called fans can turn on a home town hero. Lebron did what was best for Lebron and his happiness.
He wants to win championships and you know as well as he knew it was not very likely to happen in Cleveland.
Now I feel happy for Lebron and Brady Quinn to have a chance to better themselves by getting away from what kept them from being all they can be.You may ask what that can be? It's Cleveland and the fans!
Good luck Lebron.
First of all, to put lebron and quinn in the same sentence is stupid.
To say lebron and quinn couldn't win because of the fans is idiocy. That's one of the dumbest posts I've ever read, and I read several of mac's.

Could the fans be doing what is best for them and their happiness? Pretty silly statement you made.
Don't you get it ? Fans are NOT ALLOWED to question anything,....they don't make 30 mil a year.
They are just expected to keep paying the bills,.....

If I remember correctly, he's a Laker Glory hunter ... so he probably wouldn't know the first thing about being a fan anyway.

I have just come to the realization that out team is now absolutely horrendous. I mean my god, Z is a free agent dude ain't gonna sign back here, probably gonna retire. Shaq sure as hell ain't gonna stay, I can honestly see him signing back with the Heat for whatever he can get. That pretty much leaves us with Mo, West, Varejaou, Hickson, Parker, Moon, man I don't even want to name anybody else because it's embarrasing. We just went from the best record in the league to a pretty terrible team imo.

He did a pretty good job both times he was hired as a head coach in taking a team from pretty much the bottom and making them a winner. Hopefully he can take us all the way, 3rd time is the charm right? :P

Don't worry after a couple of days and when the tears stop most of you will realize how ridiculous you are acting.
Just a couple of hours ago had he stated that he was returning to Cleveland you all would be praising him for being the greatest home town hero of all time.
Just wait till next season, I have heard that for over 40 years!

That's pretty much the same lineup that took Derrick Rose and the Bulls ... a team fighting for a playoff spot ... into double overtime.

Well at least you abandoned the 'He can do what he wants' angle. Best not think about how ridiculous you are acting, you might probably have to make a post about yourself.

You're absolutely right, but that is also probably the worst possible scenario for us to be in. If we're a top team always contending, great. If we're a bottom feeder we'll have a chance to draft a star or two and then fill out our roster that way if we do it correctly (like Oklahoma City). However, if we're fighting over the 8th seed we'll always be drafting role players and be stuck in mediocrity. That's not good

That's also a a group of guy's that were probably riding high on confidence going into the playoff's. I can't say i'm for certain but I can't see that team pulling it together and making us a legitmate playoff contender. I bet you the fans aren't the only ones facepalming themselves right now, I bet half the team is sitting there thinking "what in the hell are we gonna do now?"

Pffft, now we are getting ragged on for someone burning his jersey???????? Does ANYONE who didn't grow up in Ohio understand this stuff? I don't wish Harm on LeBron, but he really stabbed the Cavs, Gilbert, Cleveland, NE Ohio, and all us fans. Why can't the talking heads understand our lot? I mean this is just classic. The constant heartbreak makes it easier to take I suppose.

Why watch ESPN? Ever? Turn it off forever. Let them get some "Zero" Ratings from Cleveland for the next 5 or 6 years.

Yea I guess your right. Having a hand signed Jerry West and Magic Johnson glass encased jerseys sitting next to me really mean very little to a true basketball fan.

I'm thinking Kobe probably spent the night out by his pool, maybe he went out to a good meal, or maybe he just hung out inside looking at his 5 rings while LeBron held this "Ode to myself even though I've never won crap" with Bosh and D Wade and the 1 ring they have between them..
and I never thought I'd say this but I seriously hope Kobe gets a couple more before any of that colluding group gets one...
I don't hate him, I don't wish injury on him, I don't want any of that.. I just simply hope he never wins a championship... ever.

Wow ... that is one po'ed owner. Unfortunatly, I fear his words are going to be just that. words. You need a superstar to win in this league, and none are coming here any time soon. Especially if he spends all kinds of money and luxary tax on 2nd/3rd tier guys who won't be able to get us past the first round.

Holy cow! He's pissed!
The letter:
A Letter From Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert Print RSS Cavs Insider Discuss Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;
As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.
This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.
Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.
The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.
There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.
You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.
You have given so much and deserve so much more.
In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:
"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"
You can take it to the bank.
If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.
Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.
Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.
This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.
But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.
The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.
Just watch.
Sleep well, Cleveland.
Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....
I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:
DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I'm sure there will be lots of stories from all of the spurned teams about how their meetings went down, and it'll all probably be very interesting. We've already heard reports about how officials came away put off by LeBron's camp's lack of professionalism, with the whole "we were reminded that we're dealing with 25 year old kids" comments.

I'm not a basketball fan at all, and I agree.
I'm sorry you guys are going through this, but with the attitude James has, maybe it's a good thing he's moving on.

These things damn near never happen .... but could you imagine if the rest of the guys on this team somehow managed to win the Championship after James left?
You know ... the guys who just weren't good enough for LeBum ......

Well who knows, maybe now these guy's can show why they are NBA players instead of having to stand around for an entire shot clock while LeBron dribbles in one spot and throws up a clunker.

Ok, I'm on record as saying I would become somewhat apathetic toward the NBA if LeBron left... reading that letter went a long way toward changing my mind.. I might be a bigger Cavs fan right now that I was a month ago...
I just hope they don't come out and say that was some hacked forgery and Gilbert never said that. I'm not exactly sure what he can do in the short term to guarantee the Cavs win one before LeBron but I love the attitude... ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!

first step is getting Paul in a trade to take over the point. Try and get Lee in here to sign. from there I'm not sure what to do. We will have to find a 3 somewhere.
