Anyone interested or planning to pick up this game? I recommend downloading the demo, there's 4 games you can play and 11 different teams you can unlock additional uniforms for use in the full game.
Overall, I love the gameplay (the only thing you get a taste for in the demo, which I have been playing pretty consistently since I downloaded it a few days ago.) The locomotion engine gives the game a much more natural feel and the graphic upgrades make the game gorgeous. The inclusion of the Pro-TAK engine also gives the game increased intensity. I think the game has gone to great lengths to capture the atmosphere of the college environment.
I'm going to get this when I can. I've been thinking about which school I want to play. I'm going to be passing on Madden this year because I need a break from Madden. I think NCAA will fit the bill fine. I haven't played a college football game since Joey Harrington was on the cover. The good thing about NCAA games is you don't really need to get a new one every year. I am pretty excited to get this.
loved loved loved the demo. i really hope madden takes this kind of a jump. madden has been ehh, not horrible but not up to potential.
game seems much smoother, graphics are incredible. i love that you can lock on a guy and play from his perspective.
ncaa has been better than madden for about 4 years now, and i don't see that changing this year unless the folks who produce the madden games blow this out of the water. yeah good luck with that.
Guys who did online dynasty with me last year! who is up for it this year? let me know if u guys pick this thing up...it's going to be nearly impossible for me to do it this year...but i would love to try and do at least 1 season. I guess i'll pick it up soon..maybe next weekend
Actually it looks like another guy from another forum is working on a set that could be released tonight, we'll see.
you just go to the roster share on the game and put the users psn name in (they have to upload the roster first). Not sure off the top of my head what their psn names are (blocked at work) but I will post here when they are complete.
I think I might be picking this game up for the 360 next week. I've gotten Madden pretty much every year for the last decade but I have no desire to do so this time around.

i don't bash madden, because it is not a horrible game, i know a lot of people are critical of it (i still think madden 2006 is probably the best football game ever, yes even better than 2k5) but i don't know what it is, the last few that have come out, something just isn't right. just seems a little too cartoonish, and the controls seem off.
college football has been a near perfect game as of late. they really do a bang up job on it.
and for the people that bag on madden having that license and no competition, isn't EA the only company doing college football right now? yet they keep releasing quality stuff.
I am getting this today and I am so stoked to sit down and play a few games. I have no idea which school I'm going to choose to play as but I think it's going to be a smaller school (can you still import Division 1 schools to the big time? I really hope so) that I plan to turn into a juggernaut.
I think I want to give Madden a break, 10 was a disappointment for me and really I just want to see the game take some improvments. Madden is supposed to have the locomotion engine as well which may help the game feel more natural. I think though, and I've noticed in different developer interviews and stuff. Madden seems to be going in a more decisively 'arcadey' direction whereas the NCAA games have really stressed producing a 'real college experience'.
Anyone interested in downloading named rosters for NCAA 11 can get them from the following: (just enter the psn username or 360 gamertag under roster share)
PS3: gamingtailgate (no changes made to the default EA rosters except for the actual players names added) buckeye02 (These have names added as well as some added players [Seantrell Henderson, Robert Marve, etc] and minor ratings and other tweaks) Brantley4Heisman (same rosters as buckeye above)
X360: Fairdale Kings (no changes made to the default EA rosters except for the actual players names added)
it's awesome. they really did a great job with this.
and i am so happy they fixed that problem where your guy if he's running a route toward the sideline, will keep running after he catches the ball, so every play where your guy goes wide turns into a -2, -1, maybe a yard at the most, now you can catch, take a step or two, but stop your momentum and make a good play. been driving me nuts for years. hopefully madden fixes it too.
presentation is top notch. graphics are great. they stepped it up even with last year's game being really really good.
although i don't see the mini games did they take those away?
Sounds like a keeper. Again, maybe when the price drops a bit.
I'm actually really excited about FIFA 11 right now (some of the promo videos look awesome). I've been playing the World Cup game most nights I turn the PS3 on. I haven't even played RDR much since getting it. I've always been a sports gamer so that understandable but it's usually football, baseball, and skateboarding (if you sorta consider that a sports game). But man, soccer has been a crazy fresh sports gaming experience.

i looooooove the world cup game. a lot of fun.
i actually received a copy of fifa 10 last night with my college f-ball, can't wait to try that out. i love that you have a crap load of teams to pick from.
Not sure if I could go backwards with FIFA 10. Most people agree that outside of the teams, the gameplay is better on the World Cup game. And like I said above, go look at the FIFA 11 preview videos. They made it so a 100-rated dude will hit the net from 30 yards so much better than a guy rated 50 or lower. People argued a lot of the players weren't different enough.
And EVERYONE dislikes the "ping-pong" passing in all current and previous versions. Where you can load a pass command prior to a player getting the ball and he's very accurate. My nephew and I were playing online last week and his team was getting the ball deep into my defensive end in 5 seconds every time by doing this. FIFA 10 will have Pro Passing. It takes each players rating, how long ahead they're pre-loading the pass, and what direction before letting it happen. So a pass might go in the right direction, but super weak.
And this one gets me, they have a rating on how the player plays while not in control of you. A guy might be a fast striker and only cares about offense...so when a turnover is commited, he'll take his time getting back down field.
AND FIFA 11 will have the backline defensive guys teaming up better to cover the offense. Every once in a while, I can just split the defense without a look from them. They even help you stay onsides from time to time (following you a bit). In 11, they won't.
If you couldn't tell, I'm excited about it.

looks awesome. i try and not brag on here too much, but i'm very fortunate to have a hookup with EA. ill probably get 11 at some point...
love your sig by the way. i was actually talking about that with a friend of mine. since i have been alive (1981) a cleveland team has always been a pretty good threat to win a chip. when i was born the browns were ok but soon entered the bernie years. after they blew it to denver 3 different times, the cavs were a serious threat in the eastern conference, when jordan took over, the tribe emerged as a powerhouse, after that ended we got lebron (browns also made the playoffs right around then, osu also won a nat'l chip) with lbj we had 5 straight years of good playoff runs always getting past the first round, with a tribe playoff run mixed in 07.
and like you said, the cavs won't be a threat, the tribe seems like a year or two at least from competing.
I just got a PS3 and NCAA 11. I would like to download teams but I cannot get my PS3 connected to the internet. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have an iMac G5 with built-in airport. It serves as my wireless router. We have two laptops and the Wii wirelessly connected to the iMac. For some reason, I cannot connect the PS3. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Can I download teams to a flash drive and load them to the PS3 like I did the roster file?
