I loved Z, I respected Z - but the fact that he chose to join that bag of douche in Miami ends it for me.
The man, just like LeBron, had all the right in the world to look around and leave if he wanted to. I didn't even want him back in Cleveland next year so the fact that he left is fine with me - but it's entirely and completely the team that he chose to play for next season. "He did it in a classy way though"...lol, give me a break.
I wish him private and personal success and health, but I can absolutely NOT root for him to get his championship. Maybe he can play for a couple more years and sign elsewhere when this deal is up, but as long as he's with LeDouche, no dice. Or rings.

There's a 5-minute interview w/ Brian Windhorst on that page. He says the Cavs have decided to blow it up and try to build like the Thunder did.
THANK GOD!!! Dan just gained respect from me for willing to show patience if he goes through with it. The important thing though is that we get our Durant.
I agree, just like you have been saying, no reason to be an 8th seed and get bounced early or even to hover on the fringes ala the Pacers. Hitting singles in the draft and getting a Hansbourgh doesn't appeal to me what so ever.
Also getting a Durrant isn't an every draft class possibility. Where the Cavs really screwed up was with Luke Jackson. Going back and relooking at who was available, I dont see a lot of better prospects but just shows how EVERY high pick is very important.

Sorry, Cavs are stuck now. You need one of the top 5 players in the NBA to win a championship, and those only come around every so often and then you have to be in a position to draft them.
I think the best way is to build the best team you can and hope for a Detroit-like squad from a few years ago who disproved the notion you need a Top 5 player for a brief moment in time.
I think it's easier to build a team like that than to sit around and hope for the next Durant.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
i have the feeling the cavs inquired about a few guys, but dan gilbert is smart enough not to put any stupid guarantee in front of what's best for the team.
nobody cares if lbj gets his ring before we do. we just want A ring. i don't care if it comes after lbj gets his.
good. now that we're doing it the right way. can we get a freakin pg on this team please? that's pretty much my dream right now. is to land a top 3 pick next year and get the next derek rose or russell westbrook. then you hope to get in the lotto again and hit. if you can hit twice. you're there. then dan gilbert and his agressiveness and willing to spend comes into play. then you go and look to acquire some vets.
i give dan gilbert all the credit for swallowing some pride. don't worry dude. none of us care about that guarantee. this is about the cavs, not about lbj.
so for our cap experts, what happens with that exception? nothing? can we wait until next offseason?

If we tank we can still draft great players until a durant type player comes around. Going forward I think we already have a Jeff Green in Hickson IMO. I really like Perry Jones. He's built like KD except has more muscle and is a little bigger. He's extremelly atheltic for his size.
Quote: Any word on the Marvin Williams, Wilson Chandler talks that were floating around? Both intrigued me.
windy was reporting shaq's agents were trying to talk to the cavs to s&t shaq to atl. i think marvin might be on the cavs list there. marvin and some picks? i'd do it. shaq ain't stickin around anyway.
excl, so when is the deadline for us to use that exception?
i like andy, but if we could get rid of him, i'd probably do it. he'd be of better value to another team than he would with us.
not saying i'd give him up for nothing, but if we could get a young player and/or decent picks, i'd do it. but i would be sad to see him go, that guy busted his ass on the floor. never once saw the guy loaf.
Looking at Marvin Williams Stats, when he was getting his most minutes, playing in 80 games, he basically avg, 15pts, 6 boards, and 2 ast. (rounded up). Fairly solid numbers, I dont think we have a player on our roster capable of those numbers. Maybe Jamison or JJ.

That's barely above the mid level exemption, and hardly what I would consider to be ridiculous. (at least in NBA terms)
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
Starters (all of whom must be at least average defenders):
a distributor (PG or not) a rebounder a lock down defender (for the other teams' star) a three point shooter a superstar (that draws double teams)
Bench A solid defender big to give your bigs a breather A 6th man energy guy to keep/gain momentum when your starters rest
If you have one of the top players in any of those categories, you keep them. Andy has tremendous value as a 6th man, one of the best in the league at a reasonable contract, and he's also a solid big. No reason to trade him because whatever you get won't likely replace what he already does.
i'd much prefer to trade Shaq for Marvin. Then we still have Andy who is one of our more valuable assets even if we do decide to trade him (he is more valuable on a contending team than he would be for us).
But, if you do trade Andy for Marvin, who plays Center? We'd be starting Sasha Kaun?

How many more years you think he has btw? Lol, give me a break.
Z with Miami is what it is ... I won't be pulling for them to win a title with Z on the team ... but if they happen to win anyway, knowing Z will get a ring will make that bitter pill a little easier to swallow.
BW says we are going after quick PG...size doesn't matter as much.
here are my thoughts on possible targets:
Collison. He's got to be the best PG who is readily available. The main question is how much NO wants for him and if they are willing to wait until February to deal him.
Bayless is interesting. Not sure what new FO thinks of him.
Acie Law was mentioned at some point (for some unknown reason as he's done nothing in the NBA).
Some other names:
Conley - Mayo can take over for the Grizz anyway. Flynn - doesn't fit the triangle as a PG, but would fit Scott's system. Mo Williams is prototypical triangle PG. Get something done. Roddy-B - doubt Dallas lets him go, but if they want Shaq, I would want him back. Ty Lawson - doubt Denver lets him go, but he's a backup there with Billups entrenched. They could use Shaq too. Chris Douglass-Roberts - ok, so he's a 6'7" SG. He's actually a combo-PG at heart and in a fast paced system, I think he would work. Skiles likes him a lot though, so tough to pry away. Eric Maynor - stuck behing Westbrook. very, very quick guy. might be an under the radar find? Ronnie Price - another under the radar guy who I like alot. and wouldn't it be sweet to see 'Price' on the back of a Cavs jersey (can he be #52 as a reverse number tribute?)
Others: Calderon - he fits well. big contract and his play slipped last year though (i am still a fan). Louis Williams - never been much of a fan, but fits the description. Farmar - would he go from contender to rebuild? he's not great, but he could fit as backup. Augustin - doubtful the Bobcats even consider letting him go since they didn't get Calderon Monta Ellis - inefficient, huge contract, no defense. Barea - other Dallas backup PG. he can score but is among NBA's worst at D. fits Scott's description but no thanks. Nate Robinson - more hyped version of Barea. No thanks. TJ Ford / Jamaal Tinsley - noooooooooooooooo. Duhon - royal failure as Knicks penetrating PG last year.
the only guy in that group i'd want is collison, otherwise they're all pretty much bench dudes. maybe ty lawson.
but with the lottery, you can get that next great pg. i love that we have extra picks in the future instead of no picks cause we used them in trades. 2nd round picks are usually duds, but if you land a stud, you've really hit the jackpot, it's a gigantic bonus.
and actually we had that with boozer before we found out he was a douche. seriously, i hate listneing to that guy talk. i heard some of his bulls presser, and it was just hilarious the bs he was spewing.
The local sports guy just showed a clip from the espys tonight where Seth Meyers tore into lbj pretty good. Hopefully it will be on youtube soon. I checked but did not see anything yet.

That's your opinion, and I think you're wrong. I don't think he has any years left - I think if you watched him last season you'd have had to have noticed that father time caught up with him in a hurry. I simply was trying to make the point that after this contract, if he still wants to try to play, then I hope he can get a ring somewhere else.
It's not about him for me, it's about LeDouche. I can't and won't ever support anyone that plays with him - and I certainly won't hope for any titles.
It was fun, Z, but now you're gone to the darkside.

So you say that Z is done but then you say he should play in Miami and then play somewhere else to get the ring...
Despite such evidence to the contrary, LeBron James seems to think he needs a ring to change his life and secure his legacy. Maybe he'll get one, maybe he won't, but it's probable that no amount of rings will ever remove the stench he wallowed in last week. LeBron may yet find that in the court of public opinion, just as putting on a tux can’t make a guy a gentleman, winning a ring can’t make one truly a champion.

I watched the ESPYs.. the first mention of LeBron drew boos. It was a very uncomfortable booing though.. it was almost like a "it's too early to go there" type of booing.. they were booing LeBron but there were also hoping the comedian would avoid the topic (after all the room was full of rich athletes, many of whom have changed teams, chased rings, etc..)
But he went on. He stayed on the LeBron topic pretty good and concluded with a line something like.. "with all of the great champions we have in the room tonight, one thing we know for sure, none of them ever won a championship with LeBron on their team." They did a whole skit mocking "the decision"...
