Quote: Oh look, a Laker fan in Texas. How original.
Oh I guess you do not know how many San Antonio fans roam this area!
Ignorance is bliss I guess!
It's not even about that, it's just most would think someone who cares about Cleveland doesn't try to rub things in. Especially during a time where most of the nation is even feeling sorrow for the city aside from a national network.
But you have shown us in these threads how much you care about Cleveland. I'm a Reds fans but I have enough respect for Cleveland to not go into Indians threads and rip the team. Because I would love to see them win a title for the city.
I just don't understand why you can't do the same?
Lets see do you remember watching Wilt Chamberlain? Or maybe Jerry West ? Or maybe Elgin Baylor? Or maybe Gail Goodrich?
And if you don't remember watching those guys maybe you remember watching Kareem Abdul Jabbar? Or maybe Magic Johnson? Or maybe James Worthy? Or maybe Michel Cooper? Or Jamal Wilkes?
And if you don't remember that maybe you can remember Shaq? Or Kobe? Or Rick Fox? Or Robert Horry? Or Derek Fisher?Or maybe a forgotten guy named A.C. Green?
As a True Lakers fan I can remember all of the above! And have loved every moment of it! And will never be ashamed.
Whether it be a Spurs fan or a Cavs fan, they can throw all the BS that they want but they will never experience the entertainment and pure enjoyment that I have had as a Lakers fan in my life time. For that I feel sorry for every other NBA fan on the face of the earth except for Boston fans and I hope they suffer the pain for decades!
Just wait till next season, I have heard that for over 40 years!

I bleed purple and gold! Sorry you don't understand. I love the Lakers, Browns and Reds. As a Reds fan you would probably like my Tony Perez autograph that I got in the mid 70"s on the back of my Mom's grocery list. Big Red Machine! It's cool as hell!
Oh and by the way I could care less about the cities Cleveland,Los Angeles, or Cincinnati I only care about the Browns, Lakers, and the Reds.
I guess I'm just a fan of a team and not the city. I may be a better fan than most of you because I've been a fan of these teams for about 45 years and will never change for any reason.
As a fan I guess I have that right.

I guess that's the dumbest comment I've read lately. I would never get in a spitting contest with other Browns fans or other fans of whatever team they like on this board about who's the better fan. I mean is this junior high? A fan is a fan. You can just tell with most people. I mean, good for you, 45 years is a long time and I salute you for it. I'd just say don't call others fanhood into question as some rebuttal in a dumb argument.

ok....congrats.....I still dont get why you would root for the freaking lakers.
Also its easy to claim you've rooted for a team for x amount of years, I see it all the time at work. Some jerk claims to be a cowboys fan then magically has "ALWAYS been a Patriots fan" when they start winning superbowls. I have grown to ignore those comments.
"The medium for the bad news was ESPN, which figured. The network represents much of what is loud, obnoxious and empty in sports today."

Oh but it's OK for me to be labeled a non fan because I prefer another team. Guess what the world does not revolve around what you or I think or feel. If your a Cleveland fan across the board then more power to ya.
I'm a Browns fan (if you like it or not) and that is as far as my ties to Cleveland go. Geez step back and look at the city. As I grew up in central Ohio there was always a saying that Toledo and Cleveland were the armpits of Ohio. It has not changed!

blah blah blah. This should go in the smack shack. Cleveland fans are twice the fan you'll ever be.
To get this back on track, the cavs are talking to Joey Graham. I have no idea who this is, anyone have any info/thoughts on him?

Believe me when I say my wife wishes I was just jerking your chain. If she is watching that stupid Dancing with the Stars, and a Lakers game comes on her TV world got screwed! She is off to the 27 inch TV in the bedroom and I'm watching the Lakers in HD on the 52 inch LCD.

Self pwned.

Anyone else think there might be another reason why she is hiding out in the bedroom?

It sounds to me that you made a conscious decision one day to root for the teams that you like. My guess is they were successful at the time.
But for some, they don't really get to choose who they root for. On the surface that sounds dumb. But most fans are formed when they are young with their dads and grandpas or whatever. There is an emotional attachment there and the team ends up being chosen for them. Most people aren't willing to give up that emotional attachment even if it means rooting for a team that has more perennial success.
If you understand that, then maybe you would take it a little easy on fans of the Cavs. Talking smack is ok to an extent ... LeBron leaving Cleveland should kind of be off limits if you have any compassion for the fan that grows up with an emotional attachment to a team.
That is, if you had any kind of class. But for someone as old as you are, you appear to have the maturity of a 15 year old.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Very well said, that's what I was trying to get across but I'm not very good with words. Nicely done.
