Does this make them better or worse?

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Makes the Bengals better.....especially with Gresham giving Palmer a threat down the middle who can't be doubled and be matched up with a LB..

They do lead the league in VH1 reality shows now.

Now more than ever, I hope the additions we made to the secondary pay dividends.. We'll need them if these guys begin to click.

My feeling is, there will be trouble in river city...., Just a guess.....

if you look at how many WRs they have, its quite a large list. i'm not even sure myself what to think of the signing. there will be trouble, but will it cause their offense to be ineffective.

Both they and the Ravens have really loaded up offensively, and both have pretty good defenses.
Pittsburgh is definitely in decline, and we're still a ways away from being legitimate.

I have to think that both Cincy & Balt. are the easy favorites for our division... as for which one; probably a toss up. I hate to say it, but probably Cincy simply because I believe their defense is better.

If Cincy's offense causes them to implode, then I think that the division easily belongs to Baltimore.

T.O. & Chad on the same team.... it's almost kinda creepy. Like, in their heads, I can picture their egos thinking that they just pulled a LeChump/Wade.

I think this move ends up putting the Bengals on the same level as the Jets for the next team pull a repeat performance of the massively disappointing 2008 Dallas Cowboys.

You left off Antonio Bryant.

Has Bryant ever been on a football team where people pointed to him as the "sane" WR?

haha good point. however, i have a hunch antonio won't even make their team. reports out of cincy have been pretty negative about him thus far.

Looks great on paper, esp against a team that might be lining up 2-3 rookies in the secondary...

well, let's hope our rookies can elevate their game. but with the wr's in our division, i wouldn't be surprised to see us draft another cb/safety high again next year.

Guess that's why they have yet to sign their top 3 draft picks.

If we keep Palmer on his back side.....he won't be a factor.

Looks like they are going to have to get rid of someone with talent this year unless they can hide someone on IR.

Owens, Bryant, Caldwell and Johnson are all locks. Bryant might not be healthy so that could free up a spot.

Cosby was their punt returner and a very good one.
Shipley was a 3rd rounder this year.
Briscoe was this years 7th round pick
Simpson was a 2nd round pick two years ago but has struggled to get playing time.

Jones has been plagued with legal problems but has been productive in the past.

I doubt these two have a chance in hell

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Matt Jones?

No, while he hasn't gotten rave reviews either, I have read the Bengals have been disappointed in Bryant. He has not been healthy, nor has he practiced well. I wouldn't be surprised if he's let go or they reach an injury settlement.

You would have to think they're going to keep TO, Chad, Shipley, Caldwell for sure. Matt Jones and Bryant are probably fighting for spots against the younger guys.

I have an eerie feeling people will look back on this signing as the final nail in Marvin Lewis's coffin.

T.O. hasn't had an erruption in several years. He's like a volcano ready to explode. Can you imagine if the Bungles start the season 2-4? That locker room will completely implode.

I tend to think TO has gotten a little older, a little wiser, and probably on a better combination of meds. People who are unstable usually become more stable with age.
And at this point in his career, there is no question he is no longer the best wide receiver on the team.

definitely makes them better.. He and Ocho will be a good 1-2 punch... not to mention they have Jordan Shipley at slot (if he wins the 3 spot)...

I agree.

No matter what you think about T.O., he is a player.

To bad he is a creep who doesn't support his college team....the UT Chattanooga Mocs.

T.O is an arse... I actually like Chad better because he's supposedly a good teammate.
All this means is Sheldon Brown and TJ Ward will have one more big-mouth to put in the hospital.

T.O. will be 37 yrs old, I dont buy him or the Bungals. Outside of Jerry Rice, I dont know too many productive 37 yr old WRs.

Since the bengals chose bryant over TO in the begining that makes TO the 3rd. This is a nasty recieving core. Johnson-Bryant-Owens-Shipley is a great 4 WR set

I think it makes them better than they were last season, but I don't know how much better a 37-year-old TO is than an in-his-prime Houshmandzadeh was, and he was paired up with Ocho for several seasons where they didn't accomplish a whole heck of a lot.

Well, mark TO up as another one. The guy's conditioning is matched only by Rice.

That is an extremely nasty receiving group. I think it will probably go Johnson-Owens-Bryant-Shipley but either way this is disgusting.

Don't forget that Matt Jones had somewhere between 60-70 catches last year with JAX, so he can be productive as well. But it's almost like Cincy is turning into the Redskins; they keep trying to piece together via free agency. Who knows if there will be any true chemistry.

All this reeks of desperation. Palmer's right on the brink if you ask me. Who's the back up in Cinci?

If Matt Jones is involved ..... they probably want to keep him away from "chemistry".

There are too many recievers in camp. I would look for them to move someone or put them on the DL.

Jordan Palmer?

I still don't think Cincy is as strong as Baltimore. I think Cincy has some holes; however, I do admit that their new TE should help them immensely.

I hope this whole experiment explodes in their face. BTW why did we ever get rid of Anotonio Bryant? That guy could catch the ball if I recall.

I just remember when his pants fell down haha. But honestly he was a decent WR for us.

It just means our front 7 needs to hit Palmer quick and then Ocho and Owens are nothing more than track sprinters.
