If I see that kind of interception during game time, I will have no doubts about this pick.

I second that motion. Wow, its amazing the ability these guys have. Especially when you see it broken down like that.

These sport science clips are so cool, don't know if they translate to the game or not, but fun just the same. The one on Drew Brees is just crazy.

Yeah, the one on Brees was sick!

We have to keep in mind about Joe is that he knew he was landing on a cushion and not on turf when he made those leaps. He may be a little more hesitant with that stuff on the hard surface. Probably depends a lot on down-distance and score. In other words, "Is this important enough to lay out full throttle? Hell, we're up by 21, (or down by 21), with 1:03 in the 4th."

Come on Lover, dispel the doubt right now. The only thing that keeps him for being one of the leagues best in time is injury....and you can't plan on that one way or the other.

The kid is a player. I am careful to pimp Gators since people know I am a Gator...trust me here....Joe has the ability to be the best DB the Browns have ever had.

Note I said ability....now he has to take it and do something with it and have a little luck along the way and not get racked.

I'd doubt a lot of things before I doubted the Haden pick.

You don't know what you are talking about.

If you look back Tebow was picked about where I said he should be picked....somewhere in the mid 20's.

You're just mad because you have only seen your team beat mine maybe1- 2 times in your life.

Now, if you want to talk seriously, I think GA might win the east as I think they could be a pretty good team if the QB situation settles out.

I think Grantham will make the D better....maybe in time though...not sure if you have the guys at this point to make the defensive switch, you can tell me more on that.

So, if you are interested in serious talk, I am all ears. If you are just going to flap your lips, save the energy with me and go spam someone else..

I don't know how 'careful' you are

that said, I am right with you on this one. I wanted Haden since mid last year and am very happy we landed him. He's going to have his rookie struggles, but I think he is going to lock down that spot for a very long time.

u were pimping Tebow so hard... saying how you guarantee he would win a super bowl, enter the HOF, etc... something of that nonsense.. lol.

and Georgia winning the east.. not so sure about that.. even as a georgia fan.. I hope u are right though.

I don't recall anything said anything about him in the HOF but I did say I thought he would be a Superbowl MVP. If i said anything about the HOF I suspect it was it wouldn't surprise me...and I can agree with that.

I know the guy is a very good football player. I don't care what the Goobers have to say about his throwing motion.

I still think that....and was saying that when everybody and their brother was saying he would be a 4th round pick at best.

Who got that one right???

I don't mind you bringing up facts and things I said, but don't make stuff up.

I saw this during and after the Browns picked him in the Draft and mentioned it. What you stated is exactly what all the "negative nancy's" were crying about. That it was all staged and it will never translate to the NFL and we wasted our pick.

I still think it's awsome and believe he will be an integral part of our DB core for the long hall.

Eric Turner was pretty darned good. Hanford Dixon wasn't bad, either.

Heck, if Haden ends up a better corner than Wright I'd be pretty impressed.

I didn't mean to infer that it was staged or otherwise set up to his advantage. It couldn't have been done other than with soft landings. It was set up the way it was so they could get a full view of his range. How would a guy make so many leaping flat out dives on solid ground? After a couple he'd be done. Luckily, games won't require him to lay out like that 10-12 times a game. What we can be happy knowing is that if needed he has plenty of range.

I like the pick and am looking forward to his continued development. I think he can be one of the core of this team if he plays to his potential.

I lived in St. Pete during our hiatus from the league before relocating back to Ohio.
The biggest thing there was weather you were a Gator fan or a Seminal fan. The short of the story is that I became a huge Gator fan and so my opinion of Haden might be considered bias, but I can't remember ever observing a better College CB than Haden was @ Florida. There were many times when watching film of some games he appeared to take over the game defensively.
There is no doubt in my mind as to weather or not he has what it takes to be a good CB in the league.

Hanford Dixon was "the man on a corner" and still had to face receivers who could flat out run by him, (Jerry Rice / Stallworth and many others) but because he was able to play physical with them he was able to cover them by disrupting the timing on the play and thus able to neutralize their speed.
I think Haden is in a similar mold.
He plays fast with his pads on and to me that is more important than running a 4.4, 40

I am not a betting man, but if I were.......I would bet that over 50% of the starting CB in the league would not run below a 4.55, 40

Let's don't forget or discount Frank Minnifield. He and Dixon together were "the Corner Bros." Those were some great days. Maybe Joe and Ward can be the start of some good core players in the secondary.

Too, when you watch a SuperBowl you see a lot of players with 5-7 years in the league. Look at the Packers Game tonight, their corners are Charles Woodson and Al Harris, both 3rd year guys, right? They're two 11th year guys and the Packers were 5th in passing yards allowed last year. We got one guy like that in Sheldon Brown. Still playing tough starting his 9th year but playing in a new scheme for him. Eric Wright is starting his 4th season, second year in this particular scheme.

If we can ever begin to develop a good core and not bust them up every 2 years we could have that. Drafted players in their 5-7 year range still playing in the same scheme. I think those are the badasses.

Of course, we'd all have to live a little longer to see that but what the hell, I ain't doin' nothin' else.
