Couldn't care less what Edwards has to say.

Let him drop a few more balls.

I agree. I'm glad he has time to worry about us. Best thing the Browns can do is play hard and beat the Jets...

Don't you just love how the national media takes Edwards side and pushes his agenda?

Once Edwards drops those important passes that cost the Jets games, they'll all be singing a different tune.

Last year toward the end of the season wasn't Braylon on the sidelines in a lot of crucial situations? I don't follow the Jets but I thought I remembered seeing that somewhere.

I don't follow them either.

Only football I get to see on a regular basis is the Broncos and the last time I watched one of their games was last year against the Browns of course. The rest of the time was spent surfing the internet hoping for an internet feed. All I know is that on the Madden 11 Demo Edwards catches everything you throw at him.

I equate Edwards inability to catch the ball with his lack of mental fortitude.

Plain and simple -- the guy *can* catch the ball. He's proven that time and time again with some crazy circus catches.

Problem is, he can make all of the spectacular 'Sportcenter' grabs, and then drop a freaking screen pass with no one within five yards of him.

That, to me, isn't having bad hands -- it's being a mental midget who crumbles under the weight of his own mind.

I do see what you're saying, however.

I recall a certain 3rd and short versus OSU in I beleive his Senior season...

As a UM fan it killed me on Draft day, I wanted him for what he COULD do but didn't want him for what I knew he WOULD do...

The Jets are probably ganna beat us next season, and even if he has 3 Drops and no TDs, he'll still be flying high... whatever...

I couldn't care less about OSU or UM, but I remember that play vividly. It was his senior year ... I was dating a UM alum and thus watched all of his games, keeping in mind that we had a shot at him.

In my mind, I thought it was a learning curve he'd overcome ... I was wrong.

Which is exactly where we agree.. in traffic or on a ball not thrown well where he is forced to concentrate he is brilliant.. when he is wide open and has time to think about it his mind freezes up and his hands with it.. I don't know if its just nerves or what it is but if the guy could get his head right on those types of plays, he is one of the best WR's in the NFL right now.

He gushed about his year-old son, Braylon Jr.,

Honestly, I did not know Braylon was a father or that he was even married....

...so I did a search...here is what I found...

Nik Pace Sues NY Jets WR Braylon Edwards

December 18th, 2009

Former America’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 runner-up Erika Nik Pace is suing New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards for $70,000 a month in child support payments for their son Braylon Edwards Jr., who was born in August 2009.

The 25-year-old model lived in Atlanta at the time of her son’s birth but moved to Manhattan in November and insists that the case be litigated through the New York court system. Edwards filed with the state of Georgia in June, declaring himself to be the legal father.

Pace’s lawyer, Raoul Felder said, “Braylon had tried to get the case litigated in Georgia because they are traditionally less generous with child support payments. It’s a cold, calculated act to pay less money.”

Edwards’ attorney Randy Kessler said, ” Braylon is a proud father who has loved and supported his child since before he was born.”

I learned that Braylon did not marry the mother of his son...maybe that was her choice...

...his son, Braylon Edwards Jr, born in August 2009, while daddy Braylon was still a Cleveland Brown.

Somehow, it does not seem that Braylon was the proud, loving father Braylon's mother is attempting to portrait.

I don't think the fact that he was sued for child support is indicative of anything.

If you have money, it's going to court, even if you offer to pay up from day one.

Also ... $70,000 a month?

Off topic ... but why does it cost more to raise a child if the person you are trying to get money from makes more?

It has something to do with percentages of income and allowing them to maintain their lifestyle. Or at least that is what I have read.

i don't think it's a given. i bet if you asked mangini off the record, he's got that game circled. i think he wants it bad. he knows they gave him a raw deal a few years ago and now rex ryan is taking all the credit for a lot of the work that he put in.

i don't know if we win, i think it's close, but i do know that he is gonna have his guys ready for that one. and i think a lot of those guys have that circled as well as i am sure not everyone was a huge fan of 17.

i can't wait for that game and i can't believe they didn't make that a national game, considering all the storylines going into it. mangini vs his old team, braylon coming back to cleveland, the ryan brothers going at it. are you freaking kidding me?

It's interesting how Braylon continues to bring up his time in Cleveland whenever he's interviewed. Most Browns fans have moved on, so why can't Braylon?

I'm really hoping for the Jets to stumble this year. If Braylon thinks the Cleveland media was hard on him, he'll be eaten alive by the NY media.

Braylon Edwards couldnt catch AIDS in a bangkok brothel. He must be thinking that beard is good for snagging at least a pass or two this season.

I've always found when people talk bad about something, there usually trying to cover up the truth,

When there truth in something people dont talk about it, the truth speaks for itself.

We had a kid on our baseball team this past summer who is the same way. If he does not have time to think about it, he will make the play, sometimes an amazing play. If it is a more routine play, where he has a second to think about it, he botches it. You nailed it - it's mental.

LeCharles Bentley takes on Braylon Edwards
Posted by Mike Florio on August 10, 2010 4:48 PM ET
On Monday, former Browns receiver Braylon Edwards teed off on Cleveland with a misguided rant that resulted in the player who can't consistently catch footballs catching a lot of flak.

On Tuesday, a man who was Edwards' teammate for one offseason and one full-squad training-camp practice responded.

"Braylon Edwards back bashing Cleveland," LeCharles Bentley said on his Twitter page. "Nothing that comes out of his mouth or goes into [it] surprises me: decode @ your own discretion!"

Um. Um. Is Bentley saying what we think he's saying?

Some of you may wonder why Bentley, who recently sued the Browns, would attack Braylon. Well, Bentley currently has a sports radio show in Cleveland, so even if he has a legal issue with the team, he has an interest in defending the city. Also, Bentley's case ultimately will be resolved by a jury composed of Cuyahoga County residents; thus, it's in his interests to go to bat for Cleveland. In a couple of years of so, he could be hoping for a dozen or so of them to go to bat for him.

I'll bite on this one- so is LCB saying he's doing drugs or performance enhancers/steroids? Is there any other way to take that statement??

It could be taken that way.

It could be taken as the steroid thing - seeing as I just read an article on here somewhere that braylon was benching as much as linemen........

It makes you wonder though. Maybe braylon likes to play both sides of the ball.

Kentucky should maybe take advice from Braylon on keeping his jaw open for his root canal.

Edwards started growing his new friend months ago, and it now juts some six glorious inches from his chin

Wow ... really? Wonder if the reporter measured it and everything? Of course, unless the pictures with the article are really old, there is no way that beard is half a foot long.

Maybe though, that is what the reporter thinks 6 inches look like .......?

So, beards beat people and score? And has evrybody gotten all snuggly and taken turns blowin smoke for this egomaniac? Who dropped all the freekin passes for him? Holt? My sweet aunt's gerkins! What he could be remains to be seen. What was seen in Cleveland, what he chose not to be, week after week, game in and game out, was inexcusable. Dropsy was worthless to us and it didn't matter. There was "QUITNESS" long before LBJ. Brayin'.

I respectfully disagree, Sir Bard of Dawg. I submit that what is IS has already been seen.

Kid's had 5 years of professional football to iron out his issues, and he still allowed a pass to carom off his face mask... with noone within 10 years of him.

Sorry, but he was Captain Clang when he was drafted, he was Captain Clank while he was here, and he'll be Captain Clanged once he's retired.
