I never understood that mentality .....

I love the Buckeyes ..... but once a guy goes to the pros, he's a pro.

I'm a Browns fan ..... and once a player is on a teamother than the Browns .... well ... he's the enemy. I do not root for any player in the NFL who is not on the Browns. I just can't do it.

Wow dude... it was his first EVER NFL game - in pre-season.

I haven't seen the game, but I'd just about bet a paycheck that he looked every bit as good as Wright did in his first game.

Give the kid a freaking chance before you lynch him.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Peen, did you see Tebow play the other night? The kid looked 10 times better than Quinn IMO

He is 10X better.

he's a 1st round bust if he's only 10x better

i am not lynching the kid...I said I was going to reserve judgement...

I just said he looked "slow" to me...he did not look fast for a #7 overall pick

he seemed a step behind...he made good tackles, his tackling is solid...he just did not look fast to me...I would expect speed for a #7 overall draft CB

yes Eric Wright looks much faster them him..i have keyed on Wright since we got him...Wright is a prototypical NFL cover corner....tackling was the knock on Wright coming out of college, he would have been a 1st rder if he would have stayed at USC..where he emerged as a starter for the last 4 games of his freshman season at USC

I want Haden to work out as much as anyone...I want this team to win...im tired of losing...but Haden did not look like a #7 overall pick...im not going to be one to baby the guy...Ward looked much better then he did....

Haden looked like Daylon McCutcheon(tackling) minus Cutch's ball skills...thats what he looked like..

hopefully the kid improves...i am sure he will..i just want to know why he looked slow...he looked slow to me...as I said maybe it was more Haden "thinking" rather then using his ability(which i hope is the case) because Wright looked fast and had coverage skills from the get go....maybe Wright has me spoiled...

When you think about it, 10X is a lot. I'll stick with that.

First off, I didn't see this "speed" issue at all,, but for the sake of argument, let's say he looked slower,, let me give you some reasons why that might be.. He's a rookie learning the pro game.. he's not 100% instinctive yet because he's a.... wait for it,, A Rookie. And this was the first real live action he's seen in the Pros.

I think you are being too damn picky.. JMO however..

Did you see Haden return that kick? He looked plenty fast to me.

Again, did you watch the game?

It doesn't sound like it because Haden was right with his guy on pretty much every play.

Some people just have unrealistic expectations and expect the DB to break up every pass and get 2-3 picks a game.

For the most part, our coverage seemed pretty tight. The only time I can think of where it wasn't was when Brown got burned.

Rodgers was hitting some very tight spots - his accuracy was outstanding. Sometimes the QB will put it where it needs to be and makes the completion no matter how good the coverage. The YAC was minimal, for a change, which I really liked.

I am with Damashot on this. He didn't look real slow to me. He was in position and he and Ward had some nice tackles. A rookie should be hesitant and jerky a bit. He was where he was supposed to be, closer than MacWhiff last year, and it took a great throw to beat him. I will take quicker and smart over dumb and blazing. Hope he gets better AND faster. I don't see any reason to think speed is all it is about. I like the kid a bunch along with Ward.

Come on Bard what game were you watching. Haden is incredibly slow. He was half a step behind the receiver all night. A top 10 corner should be able to run away from any receiver.

seems they would have run a go-route on him then. haden stayed behind the WR (usually Driver on his side) all night. all catches were made in front of him and he made the tackle.

now, Elam let Finley get wide open on multiple occasions. Brown got toasted by Jennings on one play (and Ward by him on another).

also, if all we cared about was speed, there were other CBs to draft. Haden is more a complete package CB (like Finnegan). that is not a bad thing.
