Blount caps night practice by punching teammate NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—This punch won’t be so costly for LeGarrette Blount(notes). The rookie running back capped off a feisty night practice for the Tennessee Titans with a short punch to the helmet of defensive end Eric Bakhtiari(notes) a few moments after having his helmet ripped off. Blount had just returned to the Titans on Wednesday night after being excused since Sunday for personal reasons. He was carrying the ball in a drill near the goal line when his helmet came off, and he kept his feet moving toward the end zone. The play ended with some pushing and shoving, then Blount threw a right into Bakhtiari’s facemask. Blount was suspended for most of last season with Oregon after he decked a Boise State player after a game.

okay.. so i just saw a clip of it on ESPN...
I really wanted this guy.. but what an idiot... It looks like he just randomly pushed a guy, and then punched him in his helmet. Not only that, but then started swaying his body and hands like he wanted the guy to actually fight him.
Idiot!

Considering how violent the sport is they are playing, if he could harness that anger he could be a force on the field.

I actually think it's a VERY big deal.. If a guy like Blount can't control his anger, then he's likely to do something really stupid like this duriing a real game.. if he does that, his team gets penalized during the game and he gets suspended and can be of no help to his team while he's sitting at home watching the game..
it is a very big deal... and it demonstrates a serious lack of good judgement and smarts.. not to mention character..

Maybe that is what the coaches wanted to happen . I was watching Hard Knocks last night on HBO and they had someone intentionally get Vernon Ghoulson into a little fight . I mean the coaches planned it out the night before and it was pretty funny .

now if he did that to an opponent.. i feel like that team has every right to jump his arse and say we don't know what this guy is capable of doing.. look at his history.

I really don't think I am at all.. He threw a punch in college, got suspended for what,, a year.. THen gets drafted well below where he was projected, what's that say about his forward thinking?
And now, he's got the chance that anyone one of us would give our left chestnut for and he's at it again..
This is a big deal because he demostrates what kinda guy he is...
Of course, he can still correct this and get on a better path.. But for now, h'es a damn fool.

He did a dumb thing in the heat of the moment and paid a heavy , heavy price for it .

Again maybe he was going too hard or too soft and someone decided to give the rookie some act right and he objected . Either way I wouldn't crucify the kid just yet .

Correct.
But I guarantee any team that he plays against will egg him on - say stuff to him, anything to chap his butt - and more than likely, he'll buy into it and cost his team.
In fact, I guarantee opposing teams will do it. It should be pretty easy to do.

The kid is in a different world now... if he's a problem, the veterans will set him straight. If he still doesn't shape up, he's going to find himself on the outs with the other players, which is going to definitely hurt/kill his career.
Like most all things, given enough time, this will work itself out.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
