I thought it was going to be titled "The Nut Strikes Back" lol

Week 2 is everything. - Miami is the most athletic team in college football. They looked lights out until they played Virginia Tech last year. I don't like them as an opponent this early in the season.

Plus, we have to get through the best conference in college football undefeated, which isn't going to be easy. Penn State, Iowa, and Wisconsin are all capable of beating any team in the country. - This is why I can't wait for Penn State/Alabama in week 2.

Muni- There's no hope for your homerism lol.

Miami, the most athletic team in college football?

That might be one of the most ridiculous things I've EVER heard regarding college football

They won't even win the weak ACC

And the Big Ten being the best conference. Okay... Now prove it. No more excuses, no more letdowns. Time for Penn State, Ohio State, Iowa, and Wisconsin to all shut up and prove it.

When Penn State and Wisconsin both fall flat on their face, I'll be the first here to say, "I told you so".

So you can prove that Miami isn't the most athletic team in college football? They are top 15 to top 10 team in almost every poll I've seen so they must be pretty expected to be pretty good.. but then athleticism doesn't mean you are the best team...

No, I don't have anything to prove that Miami isn't the most athletic team in college football. I thought it was common knowledge.

Apparently not

I'm sure it is common knowledge for you because it is a positive and he didn't give it to an SEC team.. I have no way to prove they are and neither does he.. but he's talking about athleticism.. not talent, not that they are the BEST team in the country.. that they are the most athletic.. just admit that you scoff at it with no logical reason other than they aren't in the SEC.

Texas is more athletic.

Virgina Tech

USC

Oklahoma

Just to name a few.

Athleticism can indeed be colloquial and not always the "measure" or standard,...

The big boys in my softball league are way more powerful and talented than my men, but when they hit popcorn instead of home runs and my team stills wins, they're still more athletic. It's all relative.

Those teams are probably better.. that doesn't mean they are more athletic... I just think it's funny that you are getting all wrapped around the axel with this word

I don't know if they are the most atheltic, but UM is a threat... they had a pretty good year last year and will be fired up to play the Bucks. It'll be a really good test for the Buckeyes early.

This could be a very special team this year, but gotta take it one game at a time. First up is Marshall! Can't wait!

I'm not saying Miami is a threat. Just simply pointing out that Miami is not near the most athletic team in college football, that's all.

They are a good team, they just aren't the most athletic.

And you know this because you've done some type of analysis of 40 times, bench presses, vertical leaps, shuttle drills, etc? Those are the things that make up athleticism.. they don't always win games, but they make up athleticism..

You are basing your argument on who the best football teams are expected to be based on pre-season rankings... so just admit you have NO IDEA who the MOST ATHLETIC teams are and we can let this go...

I don't need 40 times and bench press stats. The questions aren't... Who is the fastest? Who is the strongest. What you're bringing up isn't athleticism either. There are no stats to measure athleticism. You're arguing for the sake of arguing here, DC because you know I'm right that Miami doesn't have the athletes the teams I just named to.

I have never had a problem admitting when somebody was right.. you are claiming that I know you're right in the same sentence where you say there is no way to quantify if you're right..

So tell me, how do you know that the 2010 Sooners are more athletic than the 2010 Hurricanes? (I believe Oklahoma was on your list along with half a dozen other teams from the top 10) so how do you know?

So if you can come up with one reason other than "I just do" then I might admit you are right.

I watch the games. It's pretty much that simple. When I watch the two teams, it's obvious to me that Oklahoma has the more athletic team.

Perhaps it's not to you, but to most people it would be.

Miami can't get way more athletic this year.. they were about as athletic as anybody else last year... they can get better, especially at the skill positions which would make them a better football team but replacing a LB who is 6'2" 235 lbs and runs a 4.7 40 with another guy who is 6'2" 235 lbs and runs a 4.7 40 but is a better football player doesn't make you more athletic, it makes you a better football team though.

Ok, I'm done, respond it you want, or don't...

Yet there is no hope for your haterism apparently, maybe if you had a football program worth a damn to root for you would have something to be a homer about. SO go ahead and keep hating and we will go ahead and be homers for our football program that has been one of the top in the nation over the past 100 years or so,one of the most storied in college football history, one that is in the mix for national titles year after year, and maybe one day you can brag that your team won the Weedwhacker Bowl or something like that.

I like college football - I like OSU.............and Michigan.

I just wish I could get into college ball like some of you do.

Or maybe I'm glad I don't.

The Browns give me enough stress. I don't go all in for college. Heck, I'll even go out during a game.......out - to shoot, or mow, or whatever. Browns games? I'm in front of the t.v. the whole time - unless I'm at the game.

My parents are going to Europe in September - they wondered if I could take them to Detroit when they leave - but it's on a sunday - Sept. 19th - and I wouldn't be in town........so they wondered if I could pick them up on SundayOct. 3rd - at 1:00.

And I said "nope". And they understood.

When my first child,my son, was born my wife had to be induced. They wanted her to come in on a Sunday to get checked in and start the inducement. I told them not till after 5pm when the game would be over.

There is nothing like being there .... at least imo.

I never attended OSU, but was raised on Woody Hayes. The Skull Session, Ramp Entrance (man, talk about an adrenaline rush), our own rituals at home, etc., etc. It makes football Saturdays special. I'm sure fans / alumni from other schools feel the same.

It's the traditions that separate college football from the pros. One is not any better than the other for me, just different.
