Really.....why wouldn't you blitz Charlie Frye if you are an opposing defense???

#1 We haven't shown a consistancy in being able to pick up the blitz.
#2 Whether or not we do pick up the blitz(and many times we have...) Charlie hasn't shown any ability to make a team pay for blitzing.

Not to mention, even if you don't blitz .... why wouldn't you stack the box and take away the run? Frye hasn't shown that he's capable of burning a defense.

So what we have got so far is Charlie can't burn a defense when they blitz.....he can't burn a defense when they don't blitz.......Why is he QB again???? <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/naughtydevil.gif" alt="" />

Our running backs can't pickup the blitz or even assist in pass coverage without the blitz....The OL is not the whole problem... There's plenty of blame to go around.... OL, RB, QB, Receivers....the whole offense is to blame.

Because theres no need too. Defenses get plenty of pressure by rushing only there 4 down lineman. Frye will never find an open receiver if there are 7 defenders.

Why waste your pash rushers' energy when you could save it for the next week? <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

We've got so many problems again---where do we even start: line, qb, rb, coaching, no pass rush ourselves, depth, health?

There's no magic pill, so let's just hope we can fix something for 2007. I must admit that the D has shown some improvement and the young'uns are getting a lot of good experience (KW, DQ, SJ/BP, etc.)

Offensive lineman?

Yeah I agree that's the most important piece too.

But the way things break for us, you could give us the friggin Redskin Hogs from 86 or whenever and we'd still find ourselves at .500.

I can't figure out how teams like SD start guys who seem no better than us, but get better results (I know, LT, blah blah).

Maybe it's time we looked at our line schemes and calls. Let's go hire the best line guy out there this year (call him as asst. HC or whatever, just get it done!)

yea.. if i was a defensive cord. i would definitely blitz... and why...

cuz frye can't make plays on the blitz.. and the plays that he does make are 5 yard gains.. 5 yard gains are NOTHING!!

teams will stop blitzing when he makes big plays!! he has NOT done that this year!!

And he has time to go deep when other teams blitz?

Stop watching games with a bag over your head.

#1: The line proves they can pick up a blitz, which they can't do right now.

#2: Frye burns them, which he can't do right now.

I think the thing that is most important to #2 is

[*] Being able to recognize the blitz....which he seems to be able to do

and

[*] Being able to audible to something to defeat it... I don't think we've seen this at all. I would expect to see a lot of screens and such in this regard... make them pay for the blitzes and they will stop.
