59-14 to the Raiders of all teams. It seems week in and out that those guys are not prepared for football games. He might miss the playoffs in the sorry AFC west.
What exactly has this guy done since hes been in Denver? The only good thing he did was get rid of Cutler. Marshall, Sheff and Hillis are all tearing it up on their respective teams, and the Broncos get Brady Quinn in return?
I will say I respect this guy as a coordinator, he has Kyle Orton playing out of his mind. I respect Norv Turner as a coordinator, I respect Mike Nolan as a coordinator, I even respect Wade Phillips as a coordinator. There are plenty of coordinators I respect, doesn't mean they should be coaching in the NFL. Not to mention, how many Brady led offenses have looked bad? Brady could make a Jay Cutler coached offense look good. Don't get the love for McDaniels.
He had such a great chance to rebuild that team in the 2009 and 2010 drafts. With the picks this guy was able to put together, it is pretty sad the team is only able to come away with Ayers and Moreno (who was a reach at his spot).
Now before people turn this into a mangini bash fest realize Mcdaniels actually had great talent but waisted it.

Right now I'd say that honor goes to Mike Singletary....that buffoon fired Mark Martz and hired Jimmy Raye. After 3 games, he said that Raye would remain the OC throughout the season and then fired him the NEXT day. The Niners are now on their 8th OC in 8 years. We all know how a lack of continuity can affect a ballclub. Will be interesting to see who comes out victorious today in London; McDaniels' Broncos or Singletary's 49ers.

Well in fairness to McDaniels, haven't the Broncos been seriously banged up with injuries on defense?

Regardless...the Browns have won the same amount of games that Denver has and it looks like our team is headed for another 4 or 5 win season.
...if we are asking if Josh McDanials is the worst coach in the NFL, where does that leave the Browns under the leadership of our HC?
No, Josh McDanials is not the worst HC in the NFL...he is very inexperienced though..still learning.

Agree on Singletary. Guy is a buffoon. This is probably his last day on the job. I have a good time rubbing it in to a buddy of mine who is a 9er fan and who bet me they would have 10 or more wins.
McDaniels gets my vote for second place. A lot that he has done screams to me "I am smarter than everyone else". At a minimum it was too much too soon for the young man, IMO. I am beyond happy he never became the coach of the Browns.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Like anyone who was under Belicheck, they all know how to win. They all understand what it takes to win. But, for some reason they all lack a small component of what makes Bill who he is. Or rather, the coaching staff all had different components that made that Patriots team who they were. Granted that is not to say that they can't overcome this problem and prevail later on....
Josh's biggest obstacle is that he doesn't juggle politics well. And he's trying to be friends with his players. Bad combination.
It might be the reason why they don't look absolutely prepared. Last week was disgusting, hopefully they put a foot up the 49'ers rear end.

Daniels almost certainly (like every other coach in the league) will get to finish out the season, and will probably not even be fired immediately after the season. No owner wants to go buy a new head coach without knowing if there will even be a "next year". Unless a head coach is in his last year of his contract, he would have to completely and totally lose his team in order to get the axe this year.

I don't think he's the worst coach in the NFL...the Broncos are in transition.
The fact that he turned KYLE FREAKING ORTON into a good QB tells me a lot.

Kyle Orton isn't a bad QB, and he never was......
During 2005, his first year in the league, he went 10-5 after being thrust into the starting role as a rookie. And at the end of that year they benched him for Rex Grossman who had returned from injury. And they promptly lost in the Playoffs.
And the following years he was continually buried on the Bears depth chart by QB heavyweights like Rex Grossman, Brian Griese, and Chad Hutchinson.
Then finally in 2008 Lovie Smith decided to pull the plug on Rex Grossman and awarded Orton the starting job during preseason. And Orton proceeded to lead the team to a 9-7 record.
His play in Denver isn't really surprising. The guy has the talent, and he has been winning games since his rookie year. He has always been a solid option as a starter. Chicago should have left him as starter in 2005 and they would've been much better off.

Josh McDaniels is the worst coach in football at any level!! NFL to Pop Warner and all points in between!!
He took a team with a good offense and blew it all up -- for what reason no one knows. All he had to do was upgrade the defense and he's looking at a conference championship at the very least.
He let Hillis sit on the bench while his 1st round selection (#12) -- NoShow Moreno -- was the primary ball carrier. He wouldn't put Hillis in even when his running backs were hurt. Everything has to run through and for him.
Oh, and by the way, he is a sorry person who will lie to you any time it's to his advantage.
McDaniels is giving buffoon lessons to Singleterry!

What happened, did McDaniels kick you off the Practice Squad or something?

Is Josh Mcdaniels the worst coach in the NFL?
This distinction should go to Childress. I can't think of anyone else that would give up a third round pick for 3 games out of a player.

Maybe a coach who sits the QB he spent a #2 for because he's too dumb to run the 2 minute offense?

You are 100% correct, Candyman.
No one has ever asked McD to show them his Phi Beta Kappa key.nor has anyone offered to save him a seat at the local meeting of the Mensa Society.

Again, did he kick you off the taxi squad?
You've got a case of the ass against this guy, and you have since your arrival here on this board when you followed Hillis to Cleveland.

I seem to remember last year everyone was talking about how much of a genius this guy was. Denver opened up 2009 strong then faded bad down the stretch. Then in the offseason McDaniels made some questionable calls that are making him look pretty silly.

That's what happens when people write the entire book on a coach based upon a single season, or less.

Touche.
Mcdaniels is a great coordinator. IMO, his work with Cassel and Orton has impressed me more than what he did with Brady, 50 touchdown season included. It seems like he's in a little over his head as a HC, but he's still only in his second season. To me, it seems like he had a good thing going last year with Nolan having head coaching experience and running the defense.
Also, I'm not sure how much personnel authority Josh McD has, but some of the trades and draft picks they have made have been AWFUL. For example, the Broncos used a 2010 1st round pick to move back into the 2nd round of the '09 draft to select Alphonso Smith.
That 1st round pick became Earl Thomas, and Alphonso Smith has since been traded for Dan Gronkowski (a 7th round TE also in '09).

I don't have enough +1's on my computer to agree enough with this. I've been saying it for years that he got jobbed in Chicago.
