I'm not going to start a thread on this ..... but evidently the Coons campaign in Delaware is seeing much lower than expected turnout in heavily Democratic counties ........

Wonder if O'Donnel could have another heavy duty surprise up her sleeve?

Man .... that would be horrible news for the Democrats if they were to somehow lose that seat that they were probably going to lose .... then thought they would win ....

Well ... it should be an interesting evening .... lol

I don't see how anyone should be surprised by Democrats losing.

Similar to how no one should have been surprised in 2006 and 2008 with Democrats winning.

Similar to how, in a few years, no one should be surprised at Democrats winning again.

And, a few years after that, no one should be surprised at the Democrats losing again.

And on...and on...and on...

I think the country would suffer if she gets elected. I think Coons is worried because I heard earlier today he accused her of voter suppression.

Oh good lord, the country isn't going to suffer if she's elected. Don't be such a drama queen. She'd be one vote and a very junior senator at that...

I didn't mean it like that. The woman is a joke imo but I was actually rooting for her to win the primary. The republican she ran against was the same type of guy who is part of the problem. As a conservative I am willing to give up a chance of the Republicans to win the Senate if the rest of them get the message.

She is a buffoon but no one will notice because she will most likely keep a low profile.

Rob Portman is projected to win the Ohio Senate Seat. (No surprise)

Coons beats O'Donnell.

And Portman is an absolute horrible choice for middle class people worried about their jobs. But Fisher was also a horrible choice.

Jimmy Kimmel played a clip of this guy on his show. What an absolute maniac!! I love the passion. Haha. There is a funny clip of his speech sync'd to the Braveheart theme. He reminds me of Chris Farley doing Matt Foley and the "I live in a van down by river" skits.

Looks like Democrats will hold the Senate for 2 more years. (Unless the Republicans have some huge upsets out west later)

Was he running against someone?

I'm not glad to see Portman win, but Fisher certainly didn't do the job in really pressing things.

I think a lot of the other races are going to come down to the wire.

I will say that I will be VERY surprised if Strickland holds on to win.

A kid I went to high school with, Joe Schiavoni, looks like he's going to retain his seat in the Ohio Senate. Way to go Joe!

I'm perturbed that these school levies don't pass. I understand they have been ruled unconstitutional but after countless years of voting against them nothing has changed in school funding. I do believe funding needs to be changed but that doesn't mean taking away classes and getting rid of extracurricular activities is the answer.

Fox has 67% of the vote in with Kasich up by 4%, 50% - 46%.

From the looks of it, Mahoning and Trumbull are in. I don't know about Cuyahoga. If Cuyahoga is in, then it would look really bad for Strickland.

It all depends on what areas are still out.

Foxnews.com has an interactive map you can look at.

They have Strickland up 58-39 (171,631-114,812) in Cuyahoga and 52-45 (127,092-108-021) in Franklin. Kasich is up in Hamilton 50-47 (116,615-109,880)

From past elections Cleveland is slow to report. Also, I think it would have been called already if it was in. Our levies in Poland are the only two tax issues that are failing in the county.

They have a statewide map too.

http://www.foxnews.com/interactive/polit...mp;tab=governor

78% of the statewide vote in and Kasich is up 49-47%. (Currently a 100,000+ lead)

I wish I knew what counties had not yet reported.

Huge sweep for Republicans in the state with the Governors race to be determined. Boccieri is going down in the house which is huge. He is a good man but voted for Obamacare and it is going to cost him.

Yep.

Looks like (Unbelievably) Jerry Brown is the new (recycled) Governor of California and Barbara Boxer will be re-elected.

Never mind my previous post. I'm a moron who typed numbers when still half asleep.

89% reported and a lead of 120,000. I can't see how he can lose it at this point.

Yeah, he's at 50% of the vote with 91% reporting now.

PA shows R-Toomey with a 4 point lead on D-Sestak with 96% of the vote in .... so that appears to me to be a Republican gain too.

Fox now shows 95% of Ohio in with Kasich still holding a 4% lead and 50% of the vote.

I don't see any way that he's not the next Governor at this point.

I believe Philly is usually late in reporting as well. It does look good for Toomey. I'm waiting on Nevada. They are having all kinds of problems including running out of ballots in a heavy Republican area. If Reid loses to Angle that will be a huge blow. She was the Republican that wouldn't be able to beat Reid.

I proudly voted today.

Two things I wanted to share, both of which are amusing to me;

1) On TV they were scrolling through the various races going on and showed the following;
--- For governor of Illinois
D - Quinn
R - Brady

lol - thought that was funny, so I guess Illinois will be dinking and dunking to get their ship sailing correctly (notice I didn't say 'right', lol).

2) Watch this all the way to the end.
http://www.youtube.com/v/pdRVQ4xwwmQ&feature=fvw

It's Craig Ferguson on voting, its from 2008, but very funny and true.

Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital.

Fox just called Ohio for Kasich.

I really like Kasich. I actually like Portman as well.

One thing to remember when looking at the results. The % in is not votes, it is voting precincts. So just because someone is up by 5% with 96% reporting doesn't mean it a lock.

My wife isn't happy. She doesn't like charter schools (they are not held to the same standards as public ones) and he last millions with the teachers retirement fund. I have no idea if that's true. I saw it on a TV commercial.

I don't know either.

What I do know is that he produced a balanced busget in the House, and was, in fact, the leader of balancing that budget.

We need that.

He has also said that he will absolutely not raise taxes.

I just looked at the House map for Ohio after the election. Man ... there's a little sliver of blue across the top of the state, and the rest is red.

Wow! Obama's hand picked candidate for his Senate seat lost. The funny thing is they could have had a special election after Obama was elected and a Democrat would have one
