Please, for the love of God, draft/sign some solid recievers for next season and put this guy back on punt/kickoff coverage along with his return duties. Scrap the wildcat.

We have turned this guy into a mediocre football player at every position instead of a phenomenal player on special teams. Let this guy focus completely on his trade.

With his return abilities, we could have won an additional game or two. Instead, we are wattering the guy down.

I think he is turning into a pretty good receiver. Why limit his role?
I think the wildcat with Colt has great potential also. We just have to figure it out.

Anyone hear how he is doing?

it's good in small doses still. for instance, Miami went on a scoring drive when Henne got hurt yesterday (this after Penny got hurt earlier). In order to make sure that Henne was done for the day, they inserted Ronnie Brown and the wildcat and ran it 4 plays and continued to drive. Once they realized Henne was shot, they put in Thigpen (their QB3) and he finished off the drive.

Especially the way we run it. It's no surprise anymore. It doesn't confuse anyone.

It was a gimmick, and the gimmick is up.

Thigpen was the 3rd QB, so if he came in during the 3rd quarter, Henne wouldn't have been allowed back in the game. They ran the Wildcat till the 4th just incase Henne was able to come back, he wasn't.

I think theres also the point that, Cribbs WANTS to be a WR, so if you tell him, you're just ganna be a return guy, you may end up re-disgruntling him...

What we should be doing, if we run it, is keeping McCoy back there WITH Cribbs, so they don't know who's getting the ball.

Then,..... hike it directly to Hillis.

I don't usually quote entire posts, but in this case I did.

Return guys........where do I start...lol

The problem with religating a guy like Cribbs to returns has some terrible consequences. For one, what other big time playmaking player do we have on O?

When a guy can make magic happen, you give him the magic wand as often as possible. Playmakers make plays. They can't do it on the bench. You need to get the ball to guys who make plays.

Average kick returners careers? A guy can make cuts for a while. He can be electric for a while. But the injuries are many and the life expectancy of a return guy is usually not long lived.

Cribbs was infused into the O for reasons. Right now, he's the best WR we have. Not a glowing endorsement, but as of now it's the truth. You aren't going to win a lot of games with your biggest playmaker on the bench.

I'd hate to see one of our best O weapons riding the pines. And it appears I'm not alone in that thinking.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

His simple value as a decoy is plenty enough to keep him "involved."

It seemed to work pretty well for Brad Smith yesterday.

That's what I was going to say. And when Smith is under center and Sanchez was out wide, why they didn't have someone lay the wood on Sanchez is beyond me.

I like the Wildcat or WildElf or whatever on paper. But the vanilla Daboll version is just worthless. We have multiple QBs, and about 5, not all QBs, who can throw it well enough for some distance. But its only attractive part is really its flexibility and wrinkles, where you confuse as much by where the ball may go and how, as much as where it ends up. We snap it to Cribbs, he runs the middle. This love affair with the gut and packed boxes is killing us with the lame calls. An uber-Wildcat that is more wide open with personnel who create mismatches can work IMO, but we haven't milked this cow. Almost every wrinkle can end up a pass, and it can really spread folks to cover. But you need to see the opponent differently to attack with it. Leaving my two cents on the counter.

Is it just me or on that play did it look like Cribbs got shot out of a cannon?

He can really accelerate when he wants to. Impressive.

Can we please convert him into a RB so that we could use his talents most effectively? I think he'd be a great guy to get about a half dozen touches as a change of pace back.

Fun watching him though.

He leaves his feet too easily, like it's some kind of a high school game. This time it got him hurt.

Otherwise, I think he should be an offensive starter, period.

IMO.. If a defense is not expecting an wildcat type of play and you have a good Oline that can push some open holes.., coupled with RB's and multiple QB's.. you absolutely use that option.

I do not get that idea that it's an outdated dinosaur. Heck, I thinks it's a good addition to the playbook.
