Someday we'll run a 3-4 defense.

We were great vs offenses like this a couple years ago. However since we got whooped on by those spreads teams we finally built a defense to beat them. Now the power offenses are starting to kill us.

Not a very good start - lots of penalties.... not stopping the run.... not covering anyone....

The defense looks like they are a little confused, but just like that we are at the 20

Pryor has become a much better passer but he needs to realize he can't just go all Brett Favre at certain times.

Beamer would have been a great guess.

We had Stoops, but missed Carroll,....

I would have gotten Carroll, but I thought they said current coaches.

As for Stoops, I guess when you lose all the ones you play in, people forget about you

So, Stanford is pretty good. 24-0 at the half.

Luck is 9/12 146 yards 1 TD with 2 rushes for 69 yards (leading rusher).

Stanford's only loss was against Oregon.

*EDIT*

My bad, 31-0. Luck just threw another TD with 22 seconds left in the half.

Too bad we aren't going to get a Stanford v. Ohio State Rose Bowl, that would be a sweet game. Stanford v. Boise will still be pretty good.

Damn, I just saw the replay. Two officials staring right at it, hand on the facemask and spun him around. Lying on the ground holding his neck. That's the worst call/non-call I've seen since the Browns/Steelers first down measurement.

That may turn out to be helpful, there was over 4 mins still on the clock. If they can still score, they won't leave Stanzi much time.

A defensive struggle turned into a great game.

Many good players on both sides

Simon did as well with a sack and a pass deflection after the Barclay 48 yard field goal.

Love that guy's motor.

LSU & Old Miss Another good game I have been keeping an eye on just ended.
With LSU pulling out the win at the end of the game, but Old Miss is a young team and will be better next year.

Wisconsin still has to beat Northwestern and Ohio State still must beat Michigan. If the Buckeyes lose, Sparty goes (assuming they handle Penn State). I could not find the start times listed for the Whiskey & MSU games,.... Ohio State is noon.

So if they all 3 win out including Oregon.

Would that not mean Stanford would play the top Big 10 team in terms of ranking?......Wisconsin? In the Rose Bowl.

From what I understand if all three Big Ten teams win then the one highest in the BCS will go to the Rose Bowl (most likely Winsconsin).

Then there is a new rule this year for the Rose Bowl in that they have to take the top ranked non-auto qualifying team if there is one available in the top 6 in the BCS and either the Big Ten winner or Pac-10 winner is in the BCS championship game... so it'd be either TCU or Boise instead of Stanford if Oregon wins out.

Personally I don't know why they opted to do this rule as I'd rather have it Big Ten / Pac 10 if there are two teams available... but whatever...

So if it ended today it would be Winsconsin / TCU in the Rose Bowl (I think).

Edit: Here's a link to the new Rose Bowl rule... it should be noted that this is a one time only (once one non-AQ team gets in the rule goes away) and it's only until 2013... now maybe they extend this rule, but we'll see.

Yes, and that rule stinks. It destroys the nostalgic aura of the Rose Bowl, one of the things that ("keeping" the Bowls intact) was supposed to be a BCS goal.

I had a chance to read Terrelle Pryors tweets after the game before he deleted them. He's dumber than Demarcus Cousins and that's saying something. Kind of makes sense that his major is exploration. He's a great physical talent that's had a lot of pressure on him. However mentally he just does not get it. He needs to stay away from LeBron James and his little possy if he knows what's best for his career.

What did he say, Candy? I didn't get a chance to read them before he deleted them.

Curious as to what he said.

Just the typical "you're all just jealous of me blah blah blah" Ammo posted it on his twitter. He also called herbstreit a "fake as hell buckeye" which was kind of funny. The pressure and criticism is starting to get to him, which isn't surprising. I guarantee tressell will know what twitter is after this week. It kind of sucks if they have to get rid of them because Boom herron is a really cool dude.

Hey Candy, how abou this strange thought,...what if all three Big Ten boys lose next weekend ?

I wonder what the BCS standings would look like in that case ? I am supposing the outcome of each game would/might come into play somehow, but expect Wisconsin would still own the upper hand with its win over Ohio State.

Really needed to crush Iowa yesterday.

if the Buckeyes lose to Michigan than the season was a failure and the Rose doesn't matter.

gotta beat Michigan no matter what else is going on (just wanted to make sure noone lost sight of that)

Oh, I never lose sight of Michigan.

The Rose is the only thing Ohio State can really play for,...I'm just trying to get them there.

Had they not lost to Wisconsin, they would already be going there anyway, since they'd be ranked 3rd at best, and probably wouldn't outpoll TCU and Boise,...so that's 5th.
