The Post reports that the team will promote running back James Davis from the practice squad Monday, according to two league sources.

Davis was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh-round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Clemson. Davis had nine yards on four carries this season before his release by the Browns in October.

Hardly a ringing endorsement when you read the article.

Portis is likely out this week.
Ryan Torain (r.b.) is likely out.
Chad Simpson (r.b., kick ret. put on I.R.)

If you're missing 3 running backs - of course you activate one from your practice squad.

No doubt.

Getting a fair chance is 75% of the battle, be it football or anything else.

Technically, both are correct.

A guy on the practice squad is signed to a practice squad contract. His contract can be for less than $100,000. Once he is promoted, he has to be signed to an NFL players contract, subject to minimum salary requirements, with all of the NFL players clauses, and must be paid for at least 3 games at the new level.

So .... once a guy is promoted, he has to sign a new contract to become part of the active roster.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
