django this is days late...
but on your post...the only mention of us being better was that "we only look so much better because we were so awful last year"
and...if you do break down the numbers...we pass for the same amount of yards per game as the 05 Browns but are ranked 7 places lower...i think thats weird.
but you look at our stats and there are two very important stats...and that is the BIG difference in rushing yards per game and rushing yards allowed per game.
And as well as the others...the teams weve beaten and who weve played to the very very end has shown that we are a very competitive team. and this is a team that i dont think would have challenged very hard in the playoffs...and thats a bummer, but we would have kept any playoff game close, but we dont have the ability to pull it out this year...
so i think that its better to lose these games now...because next year is a win first year.
Maybe the system isnt as quick as some teams have done it...but its a system that worked in new york. and if you look...the Jets are winning with essentially mangini's team with stars added on top of it.
i think the plan will work out for us...and next year we will win several games.
What i do think we need is new coordinators. I dont think we should replace Rob Ryan, but I think he will be a head coach next year. And i do very much think we should look long and hard at Wade Phillips as our DC. The guy is good at it...and bad at head coaching. And if Wade works under Mangini it would be perfect. He can still be his nice guy self and be the players coach that doesnt get it done as an HC but great as a DC (or OC)(see Romeo Crennel and Mike Nolan)...As for an OC...im not completely sure, but we need to find a good one for next year.
The Bills are making the most of a very limited pool of talent (lee evans (i think hes awful), Steve Johnson (who has been good but idk), Donnie? Jones (i dont think thats his first name...it starts with a D and hes a rookie UDFA), and Fred Jackson and now Quentin Ganther...
We should be able to make more of Cribbs, Massaquoi, Robiskie, Moore, Watson, and Stuckey...as well as Carlton Mitchell
"It has to start somewhere It has to start somehow What better place than here? What better time than now?"

change it to 5 games, and so far, so good. a win is a win (and it's about time we won a close/ugly game) and hopefully we won't have to worry about Jake taking snaps much longer.

I'll gladly take the wins. I trust Heckert to draft well from a few spots lower anyway

More wins or less wins probably won't change our draft spot all that much. Check it out:

Good stuff Cal.
I think it is goofy to be thinking about draft position at this point. What are we saying here, tank games??
The only time that might even closely come in to play is with a team with the first pick on the line and that first pick is someone far and away the best player of that year, and maybe many years.
Play to win and sort out the draft position after the season.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

Not saying tank games at all. I'm saying win or lose, it (probably) won't affect our draft spot much. I'd love to win out, it's certainly not worth a spot or two to intentionally lose games.

Nice work!
I see us drafting in a position to add a good player or maybe we trade down and add picks. We have enough needs that I think you take who is there and the rest will work it self out end the end if we draft well and continue to build on and around what we have already.
I think you play every game to win. Not even if it means giving up the first pick. That would be cheating the fans.

I wanted to lose the last game of the 2006 season (Houston IIRC) because I wanted to pick as early as possible to get Joe Thomas.
Aside from that, never tank. Winning breeds winning.

I agree. No matter where we pick, (8-11 probably) we'll get someone who will help the team.
