4. Davon House – CB – New Mexico St.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!

Dude, please, no.

These things are annoying enough in February and March, but atleast there's a draft forum to hide them..

And he clearly titled it, so theres no reason for you to click on it if you don't want to comment on it.

Anyways...

Is Casey Matthews anywhere near as talented as his bro? I don't want a guy just for his name...

I want NOTHING to do with AJ Green... He's too scrawny IMO to handle the AFCN

If we go WR high I'd take Jones, or hopefully a RT if we're picking midround.

i just love these mock draft things--- and the video's were great. (i had to mute the music after 20 seconds but thats just nit pickin ya')

I like the first two picks. We need to address the front seven on d and need a big play threat receiver. FA might help out the receiver postition. No way do i come back in the third and take another WR-- that is where i look for the right OT. that position needs to be fixed.

thanks for your efforts.

I think w NEED to adress WR through FA, I mean, are Rookie WRs really going to help that much?

I'd LOVE Young though, guys got Speed...

historically, receivers don't hit there stride until year 3 (unless they are a real special player)-- however, usually they will show some flashes along the way. Right there is the problem with Robiskie- he has shown nothing to make you think the light bulb will go on next year. MoMass seems to be getting it and should continue to get better.

As for free agents-- Sydney Rice anyone??

I refuse to believe Minny won't lock him up long term.

I'd actually consider Vincent Jackson...

Beyond some legal troubles I'm not too familar with, his only problem this year is getting paid... and as a FA... he'd be getting paid.

If I'm not mistaken, Vincent Jackson is in line for a 1 year suspension, if he is involved in any more "incidents" (DUI, etc). I don't know enough about him to know how big a risk that is.

Waching Julio Jones run a slant makes me

1. Want to draft him.
2. Ask Brian Daboll why don't we ever run slants?

My boy Titus Young had that HUGE catch for Boise St. last night... Boise couldn't take advantage of it though.

I realize this is just for fun, but there are just too many variables that can and will effect the Browns draft board to have any idea what our needs will be by the day the draft takes place.

Browns draft position

NFLPA Contract status

Free agent signings

Trades

Once the NFLPA/owners contract is settled, I look for the Browns to be "very aggressive" in acquiring the players to fill our needs.

The Browns continue to have needs on the Oline, Dline as well as the defensive backfield.

#1 issue facing all teams...NFLPA/owners contract...that must be done before first, imo.

I'd rather see this.

1. A.J. Green
#1 WR
2. J.J. Watt
Would probably start and allow more rotation to keep fresh legs
3. Gabe Carimi
Great run blocker. Could start at RT
4. Lance Kendricks
Good blocker and receiver and a good fit for the offense
5. DeMarco Murray
Would make a solid 3rd down back. I don't think he can be an NFL starter
6. Owen Marecic
Plays FB and LB. Would make a solid special teamer at the very least
7. Justin Boren
Could develop into a starter with his potential. could be good depth

There's no way boren lasts until the 7th. Don't like the kendricks pick because we have 2 capable TEs.

I just don't know if Moore can ever really be a TE. Maybe if he were used like Dallas Clark is but not like how Warson is used. Kendricks wouldn't really be a need pick, I just like him as a player.

As for Boren, I could be wrong, probably am but I think he's pretty good but could see him dropping to the 7th.

Carimi is a Top 15 pick.

As Top would say "you can take that to the bank!"

Or as Bill Simmons would say "that guy's almost as good a Josh FREEMAN!"

I agree that Carimi isn't a 1st round pick. I just don't trust his footwork and technique at times. I like his ability as a run blocker and above average pass blocker. I think his future in the NFL is as a RT.

I'm not sure if Carimi will go in the 1st or not.. but I know for sure he won't be a top 20 pick...

I guarantee that your guarantee in no guarantee at all sir!

His run blocking is crushing. Is he going to be a NFL RT? Maybe. But he's a first round quality road grater.

If you'd like a sig bet that he goes in the first I'm game!

Remember last year with Myron Rolle? You wanted to bet $100 that he would go in the first. I said 5th. He went in the 6th. I will gladly take your sig bet.

I'd say keep it simple.

"Disclaimer - I don't know as much about football as I think. "

It goes on after the last pick in the first round. And it stays until the week before the first preseason game. We on?

Is it easier to get players for the 4-3 than the 3-4...

I hate trying to risk taking a "Tweener" guy...

That's the benefit of the 4-3 i guess...

Deal. I like the sig idea as well. But I also like Candy's suggestion.

OSGuy, I think that's an excuse. The Steelers, Ravens and Patriots don't have much of a problem with it. Good scouts can scout for either scheme.

I don't even want to see you with that pic in your signature let alone me. All I can think of is a gay Broncos fan which means we both lose. Especially if you lose...you post 10x more than I do.

Let's just keep it simple. Deal?

And was promptly cut going into the season. God between him and Tebow it was almost unbearable to read some of the draft threads last season.

How about the 2032 draft I saw a kid crawl the 40 in 58 min 15.3 seconds. He should go in the top 5 rounds.

I know that both Jones and Green are supposed to be studs. Does anyone have an "NFL Comparisson" for both? I'm interested in hearing about who these guys remind you of as far as WR's in the pros go.

I hate comparisons, but I can tell you my opinions on each of them based on what I've seen. I'm a huge fan of both of them, but I have Green ranked higher, but not by a whole lot. Both are legitimate top 10 picks.

A.J. Green - He has good but not elite speed, and shows very good burst, especially in an out of his cuts. His route running is excellent. Virtually no one has better catching ability. He can go up and get a ball, he can catch in traffic, and he can make sweet plays too. He rarely drops passes. He has good height, but could stand to add some muscle. He's not overly physical and isn't a great blocker.

Julio Jones - He has great size at around 6'4" 215 and is very physical. He has better straight line speed than Green, but doesn't have quite the same burst. There aren't too many receivers with better athletic ability. He does a great job on maintaining inside position and runs a great slant route. He has the ability to be the guy you want to give the ball to on a 3rd down. He's a great blocker. His catching ability isn't elite, but is still good. He has had some concentration issues, but those have mostly disappeared.

Thanks for that write up Deep. From what you've described, both guys seem to have a great ceiling but to me, according to your description, Jones is the more well-rounded WR who can block, etc. do all the little things. If this is the case, why do you prefer Green? From what I understand, both are guys that would improve us tremendously at the WR position so as long as we get one, I think I'd be quite happy.
