This could be VERY interesting. I'd liken it to Art coming back to Cleveland.

He should be able to hear my Boos from here in NY.

I just hope Cleveland doesn't get another black eye for the fans going crazy, but I think that might happen.

It could be entertaining, for sure.
I hope for the sake of Cavs fans and the city of Cleveland's reputation that things don't go beyond loud prolonged booing.

If I could choose what the fan reaction to James introduction would be, I would choose dead silence.

I'm pretty interested to see if the starters shake hands with him before the game or give him the snub, or somewhere in between.

Also, lulz if LeBron was trying to be a tough guy with Erik Spoelstra...

I would choose the dead silence as well.

But the way I see it is Cleveland is getting a lot of revenge right now. The Heat kind of suck. It's awesome to see.

LeBron wanted to live in Miami and play with his buddies. He never really wanted to win. He's getting exactly what he asked for, and I love it.

Even better than dead silence would be nobody in the stands. I never was an NBA ticket buyer. That certainly isn't going to change now. But I WOULD buy one to be there for organized, and required-on-purchase "dead silence." That's just not going to happen because the general public doesn't have that kind of discipline.

I know it sucks what LBJ did to the fans of the Cavs.. But he really didn't' do anything wrong.. moving to another team, for whatever reason, was his right..

My big complaint about LBJ is the WAY he did it. tacky, unprofessional and typical of a star or superstar player in any sport.. speaking of himself in the third person always tells the story... Egomaniacal... Makes me want to walk up to him and slap up on the back of his head.. knocking some common sense into his brain..

So, no, I won't be going to the game and if I did, I'd cheer for the Cavs.. Period

The problem really isn't what the fans will do, it is almost surely going to be wrong no matter what it is.

Really, no matter what fans do it will be painted in a negative light. Empty seats? The fans don't support their team. Scream obscenities? The fans are classless. Just boo him? The fans don't have any heart or pride. It's a losing situation from that standpoint any way you slice it.

I think you are spot on. ESPN will paint Cleveland in bad colors no matter what happens. A small part of me hopes the fans give the media just what they're looking for....total, ugly, unrelenting harassment the entire duration of the game. The larger, common sense part tells me the situation is over, done with, move on....he's not all that. The Cavs actually have a good chance to win the game.

I'm split too on what I'm kind of hoping it will be like during the game. Whatever it is, I want it to get under his skin and fester and eat away at him mentally and emotionally. I want him to never want to come play at the Q for as long as he's in the NBA. His remarks about how it would be such a great story if he one day returned to play for the Cavs again? He can shove em. Make him know he's not welcome.

I'm glad the game is on TNT. I want to hear Charles barkley's takes throughout the game.

So why give them something more to write about bye throwing things on the court...All I'm saying the world expects us to boo....call names ect. nothing wrong with that, let them write about it, every city does that, lets not be the one who throws stuff on the court.

My biggest fear is that he throws the chalk in the air in front of the fans...if he does that, THEN it might get ugly. I think everyone will behave themselves otherwise. I'm sure when he's on the bench, and during free throws (regardless of who shoots them), he'll hear more than he'd like to, and of course the constant booing when he touches the ball, or maybe during the Heat's entire offensive possessions.

Show some class Lebron, don't throw the chalk in the air.

I was thinking the same thing, I hope Lebrons handlers have learned enough to advise him to leave the chalk toss thng alone. Does Lebron normally do that at road games?

On a side note, I just saw the video of Lebron bumping his coach and then there was a video of him doing the same thing to Mike Brown. This guy is such a douche, I feel guilty for ever liking him.

LeBron's best games are when the attention is solely on him. I suspect him to have an epic game with this much attention (I hope I am drastically wrong)

He did last year at the Clippers game ... but that's back when road fans actually liked seeing him too.

I think someone mentioned awhile ago that they should spray him with a small watergun during the chalk toss ...

I think everyone should just chant "%&@# ESPN" the whole game, so they can't show any highlights. I also liked the idea of chanting something like "Sidekick!" or something somewhat wittier than just straight booing.

How about playing that "fan response" video on the jumbotron just before the player introductions? It is tasteful and clean, but sure sends a message. Would definitely get the crowd fired up.

I think the crowd should sing the song 'Gloria' a lot.

They should also ALL turn their backs to him when he's shooting free throws.

I think that the arena should go dead quiet everytime he touches the ball.

I mean dead silent.

Could you imagine the place loud as can be as Wade (or someone) dribbles the ball up .... passes to James ... and it goes dead silent. Every time he touches the ball. Think that wouldn't impact his psyche? He'll be ready for boos. This would completely screw with his head.

Cavs games are not Browns games. Many more suits and families. I don't think there will be anything thrown, but it will only take one genius to screw it up. And yes, no matter what the fans do, that will be the story and it will be painted in a negative light by LeSPN.

My story book ending for this game would be LePoop at the line with no time left and missing the free throws to lose it for Wade's team.

IDK what is going to happen but I get to bowl Thursday because two of the regulars are going to the game. So a "Free" night of bowling for me. Well not totally free, I have to buy my beers and the money for the card game but beyond that my games are free.

I like the idea going around of laughing hysterically at him when he touches the ball.

The Cavs actually asked the guy who created that to create a new one for the game Thursday. They filmed part of the new one where my girlfriend works.

totally agree about bspn painting cleveland in a bad light on thursday. they will.

it's almost a lose/lose situation. the only way i can see bspn not having any ammunition is if the cavs just come out looking like the 72-10 bulls and nobody really caring about lbj anymore. like they if they open up on a 30-10 run or something.

i wish fans could just channel all this energy geared towards lbj and put it towards the cavs.

everyone is gonna do what they want, but i think we'd probably come out looking best if we cheered for the cavs and really didn't give lebron any attention. booing him every time he touches the ball is stupid in my opinion. i think you are just giving him what he wants when you do that.

I get where you're coming from, but I think that the last thing anyone should worry about is "how do we look". I mean, seriously... is there some sort of public image that you think we are trying to collectively put forth? Something other than that of "jilted fan base in a hard luck city"?

We were the victims, we're allowed to look however we choose. We are the ones that were played, we have the right to be bitter and to be very vocal about it.
We're not playing in some court of public opinion, and even if we were, we have every right to not give a damn. Everybody knows what happened. Everybody knows who did it. Even the miners in Chile that were trapped under rock all summer long know the score.

That individual has earned every bit of scathing ire that he will receive.

i totally agree. i don't hate lebron like everyone else, in fact, i believe i said on this board that i believe he will be back one day.

but after what he did, yeah, people have the right to be mad, to hate him.

but i hate that they will be painted in a bad light. it was bspn who enabled lebron to hold that debacle in front of the country (after 40 minutes of ads, plugs, and dumb analytical breakdowns) and to use kids as a shield. i mean you can go on for hours about it.

but the network is in bed with them. and i hate seeing hearing and reading about how cleveland fans are by national outlets. i mean for crying out loud, stuart glass eye scott was on mike and mike the next day backing lebron and condemning cleveland fans for burning jerseys, all because that debacle had his fingerprints all over it.

fans are gonna do what they want. if you are on this board and are going, you can do whatever you want within the law and rules, but if cleveland wants to come out looking best, i think they should channel everything into the cavs. after all, lebron can't throw anything in our faces. everything he does with that team is pretty meaningless in the big picture. he turned his jewels in. that'd be like braylon edwards throwing it in cleveland's face if ny won the super bowl when tomlinson, keller, and holmes have carried the jets. it would be even worse because it's basketball.

We're gonna be screwed by bspn no matter what... so we may as well actually earn their disdain rather than be painted in a bad light for no reason

I agree......give everybody a brick upon entering.

Just kidding of course.

Actually I think it would be pretty cool if people bought a seat and didn't enter....all but one...play to a to empty arena but one vocal fan.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but i'm really hoping for a beautiful black eye for Cleveland. Nobody is going to suddenly say, "wow, cleveland fans are really classy, they didn't riot." Screw it. I hope 500 people get arrested and Lebron gets punched in the nuts by a 10 year old.

Yeah, one lone fan yelling..."What should I do? Should I have to miss this game because LeBron is a ...? What should I do? Should I act like a spoiled brat and ask ESPN to give me a one hour special to talk about what I am going to do regarding the Cavaliers? What should I do?"

The way its being hyped on ESPN already (which is what led me to start this thread even though I don't give a tiddly about the NBA) makes me further wonder how many times are they gonna replay shots of that one hour special?

Though I don't follow the NBA anymore I hope there are no incidents and for my fellow-DTers who do I hope the Cavs beat Miami by 30 points.
