(Cleveland) - The city of Cleveland has been awarded another professional franchise. The Lingerie Football League has given Cleveland an expansion team, the Cleveland Crush, to begin play at Quicken Loans Arena in the fall of 2011.
League founder Mitchell Mortaza says leveland's rich football history was key in our city being awarded the team.
Columbus was also under consideration. An open tryout with be announced in the near future as the team will be stocked with local women.

I've watched two minutes of this league on TV earlier this season and it was worse than watching paint dry on the wall. The girls wear these ridiculous shoulder pads and the game isn't even that exciting.
I'd rather have an NHL team than an arena, lingere, or AHL/IHL team in the Q.
I agree. I have watched every second of every game on TV and have yet to find any redeeming qualities of the league. I'll keep watching in hopes something changes..

I was an anti cheerleader guy until last Sunday....Lets just say the Dolphin girls make the media timeouts go by quickly.
dolphin girls get a from me but every time they show cheerleaders on tv, my girlfriend says "why do nfl teams need cheerleaders? the fans are already drunk and raucous enough"
No doubt there is appeal in watching women running around in their underwear, but I am thinking more in terms of a bedroom somewhere and not on a football field.
I couldn't see myself getting in the car, driving 15-20 miles, pay to park, trudge to my seat to watch that.
I have never seen it on TV....this is on now??
I might watch for 5-10 minutes out of curiosity, but that would be about it.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
The only problem I have with it is that there are no thongs .....
I mean ... way too much fabric wasted on uniforms IMHO .....

what if there are girls out there that really want to play legitimate football but don't feel like parading themselves out there in thongs and bras in front of drunk rednecks?
There's a league out there for "legit" women's football... Don't know if Cleveland still has a team but they did at one point, if memory serves a girl from this board played for them.

Yup, that was CouchGirl that played for them. And the team is the Fusion and they're still around.
