The NCAA needs to remove some bowl games.

This has to be the worst bowl season I've ever seen.

I watched Tulsa-Hawaii, and that was only because it was on at the neighbors Chrsitmas Eve party.

We need a playoff,...something with some meaning.

What exactly would a playoff change? None of the teams that have played so far would have been in a playoff, 4 teams, 8 teams, 16 teams.. keep going.... doesn't matter...

So do you think that if they add a plus 1 game or make it an 8 team playoff that the NCAA is just going to give away whatever money it makes from these games because you don't like to watch them? okay...

I watched the Maryland game (actually DVR'd it and watched it at night.. haven't watched much else... ) this may come as a shock to some of you but it's ok if there is a football game on and you DON'T watch it..

I'd be a lot more into this bowl season if my team didn't crap the bed against FIU... FIU?... really Toledo? Also if I wasn't 6-8 on picks going into today and already losing the SMU game badly... Clearly this is not my bowl season.

Playoffs means everybody watches everyone of them. I'm glad you think it's OK to not watch, because I haven't been. But that's not because there isn't a playoff. We just need one. Is it OK to say that ?

Yes, none of the teams that has played so far would have been in a playoff, but if ALL 64 of them had been, we'd be just about done, or heading into the final week of them. Now that would be worth watching, and it would way more than make up for any loss of the precious dollar.

It's not that we don't like to watch them. I would just like to see them have some additional meaning.

Me too, I kind of went all in with my BCS picks. I had those as my most confident games.

I see The Big Ten easily losing four of those.

I really don't see Northwestern winning without thier QB....But every other game can be wide open... I expect Wisconsin to win but I don't expect it to be a blowout only because of the speed on TCU's offense...I see the Power of the Wisconsin O being too much for TCU to handle and the Wisconsin D doing just enough to win....

I don't hate TCU.

I hate Boise because they don't play anyone and whine and cry every year about not getting a shot.

Granted it's the Big East, but at least TCU manned up and went and joined a BCS conference.

Utah went out and joined the Pac 10.

What has Boise done to even show they are trying to play a better schedule? Schedule ONE tough game a year, then sit there and play the likes of San Jose State, and Louisiana Tech all year?

I would agree on NW, but TxTech was really bad this year. I mean, they lost to Texas

I think Tuberville will do well for them down the road, but this was definitely a learning year and it should be a pick-em game with NW's backup QB having more time to get the timing down now.

I think Top had it right except I do think Michigan beats Miss State.

jc Anybody just see KSU get screwed over? With 1:13 left they scored a TD to pull within 2, the receiver gave a quick salute to the crowd and got nailed with a 15yd excessive celebration penalty.....enforced on the extra point! This put the 2 pt. conversion attempt on the 17yd line. What a crock.

I suppose this kid didn't know the rules either.

Excessive celebration is a target. Doesn't make it right, but it is a target. That means you do what the man tells you to do. Now, it's cost someone a game.

Sorry about that.

I wish it had been a playoff game.

I didn't watch the game but it sounds as dumb as the stuff OSU was getting called for against UM.

These officials try to protect the game but yet the governing body makes a bunch of boneheaded rules and holds shady investigations. NCAAF is no better than the NFL in my book.

It is technically against the rules.

However in the army bowl game it was fine for players to salute.

A salute isn't disrespectful or taunting at all.

Yeah that was BS I think. How long is it gonna be before high-fiving a teammate after a TD is excessive celebration?

2 things...

1. Emotion is not apart of football (that's what these stupid rules are meant to try to do at least).

2. Great day for fball so far. Good to see Army hangon after a great first half and Syracuse v. Kstate was dang fun. I'm skipping UNC v. Tenn, so it'll turn out great I'm sure (Neb v. Wash is just the Huskers penalty for leaving the Big XII...good thing it's on late enough so not many have to suffer with them)

Speaking of controversial calls. Next time a Miami fan complains about the PI call in the title game remind them of this play.

Not long, I'm afraid. It looked like the KSU player gave a quick salute to the crowd immediately after the catch as he was running back to the bench. That just fried me and ruined a great game.

Butch Davis just had the most mind boggling, screw up, fail, in the history of football clock management. Like I am absolutely stunned at how stupid and lucky he got at the end of the game.

He did, but luckily for him, the UT players couldn't stop cheating (penalities).

I was cheering for UT until they started with the penalties, then I switched to UNC (despite Butch).

Great game by my alma matter UCF today to earn their first ever bowl win. Doing it against a SEC team should help in getting that Big East invite. I remember the uproar when O'Leary was hired, but hard to argue with the results having finished the season ranked and a bowl win, both firsts in school history. With b-ball also being ranked right now, I'm hoping that invite comes soon.

Congrats, and they've done something tOSU hasn't done. Beat an SEC team in a bowl game.

Hoping that can change next week against Arkansas though.

Nova is still considering the jump to FBS. No official announcement has been made and I've read a few places they are hoping UCF gets the invite so the can stay at FCS and be a top program (fan boards).

Now that you posted that, it is weird, they are like Top 20 BB every year, but only D-1AA in football.

How does that work ? I guess the "numbers" are different for each sport ?

It really is bull,...I would love to see the Academies go 1-AA. Everybody would be having a hangnail then,....

Yeah, the biggest hangup for the UCF bid is that they want an entire invite, not just football. BE said that they didn't want to expand into their powerful BBall division at all....and yet, then they bring in TCU on an overall deal. UCF had a football only invite but I believe that they turned it down. In the time since, UCF's BBall program has been incredible and has been making some noise, even getting ranked. With the emergence of the ranked BBall program, a solid performance this year by a ranked football program, and the fact that all of their facilities are less than 5 years old; they are making a statement as to why they deserve the invite.

They look AWFUL!!! They are just embarassing the Big Ten today... sure hope Winsconsin and the Buckeyes can bring home big wins.

SEC is proving why they are one of the best conferences today - would not surprise me if the Big Ten loses 4 games today.

Not too surprising, considering they were able to shutdown Cam Newton for a half.

PSU has played a close game all day. It's been a good game by both teams.

I hope the horned frogs bring some fire today. I want to see a hard fought contest.
