It's been fun reading all the Bengal smack from Browns fans on this board. I assume Med man was quite a character when he was here. Bengal fans had bragging rights last year, now it's the Browns turn. Since both teams have been pretty awful, I've decided to do a little research to find out who really sucks more.
Before we go on, I need to stress that it is lame for some of you Browns fans to play the "Browns 8 NFL Championships, Bengals 0" card. The Bengals didn't exist then. The Browns had a 22yr. head start to attain those titles before the Bengals even came into existence in 1968.
It is only fair we start from 1968, when both teams started competing against each other.
From 1968:
Division titles: Bengals 7, Browns 6 Edge: Bengals
Browns vs Bengals series: Bengals 38-36 Edge: Bengals
Playoff appearances: Bengals 9, Browns 13 Edge: Browns
AFC Championships (SB appearances): Bengals 2, Browns 0. Edge: Bengals
Losing seasons since '68: Bengals 23, Browns 20. (Did not include this year because the Browns record is undetemined.) (Since the Browns didn't exist for 3yrs. would mean they had more losing seasons in less years. Bengals losing seasons% = .534, Browns = .525. For all intents and purposes its even, but for arguments sake Browns have less. Edge: Browns
Regular season games won since '68: Browns 278, Bengals 284. (Again, the Browns didn't exist for 3yrs. No math needed here...for the Bengals to have only 6 more wins while playing 3 more full seasons is not impressive. Edge: Browns
The most important stat of all:
How many times since 1968 has each team managed wins against their owners...arguably the greatest team ever ...the mighty Pittsburgh Steelers: Browns, 29- 50 vs the Steelers Bengals, 32- 49 vs the Steelers Edge: Bengals
Final Score: Bengals 4, Browns 3.
Conclusion:
It appears Browns suck a tad more, although they provided 4 more years of making the playoffs....the post-season hoopla, excitement and thrills for their fans which is what it's all about...but for the Browns not to even have made a Super Bowl appearance is embarrassing. What makes it embarrassing is that the Browns are 1 of only 4 to never make it to the big dance, and two of those teams are much newer franchises (Jax, and Hou). The Browns are stuck all alone with the other loser...Detroit. Doesn't get any more embarrassing than that!
Having said that, I want to deem this a draw. ....but if a gun were pointed at my head, and I was forced to chose, sorry Browns, you suck worse by a tad.

I guess the amazing thing is, though, that with all this evidence and scientific research, the Steelers still suck.
I guess there are just some things that can't be explained. What a wild wild world we live in.

I stopped reading right here:
"Before we go on, I need to stress that it is lame for some of you Browns fans to play the "Browns 8 NFL Championships, Bengals 0" card."
The Browns do not have 8 NFL Championships, they only have 4.
I then automatically assume the rest of your analysis is flawed, or skewed.

Not only that he/she can't count cause since ' 68 the Browns have 8 Division titles.

The steelers' red, yellow and blue shapes are usually more specifically referred to as hypocycloids, which is why i posted the earlier line shortening pittsburgh and steelers. I have to admit i didn't know it was just a class of hypocloid.

Wow. A steeler fan doing all this research and spending this much time on a BROWNS message board? Your life must really be empty.

Hey, if it's only fair...let's count only the games I want to count and the Browns are undefeated!
When you start having to ignore facts to prove a point you can be pretty sure you've already lost.

couldn't have said it better myself. I wish I had half the time that some people on here have. It blows me away when I read stuff on here that obviously shows large amounts of time spent to write and for no other purpose then Smack

When I get a bunch of time with nothing else to do I'll do a comparison of the Browns and Steelers however it is only fair that we consider just the years before 1972, which is when the Steelers started doing steroids.

How can this even be a comparison? 3 years out of the league means 6 games that weren't played against the Steelers during this time period. But ok, yeah leave out the first 22 years.

Even funnier-----should they come up victorious against us this week they will all be here talking smack like they never hid for the last 2 months. Like they haven't just lost ten games in a row. Like they are still going to the playoffs.
