I'm not sure who cares or who would recognize me, I don't post much but I have spent a pretty good amount of time in gameday chat. I've been on this forum for 3 or 4 years, I definately remember the drafting of willie green on here.

I've found that during the offseason I open and refresh the forum even though there is nothing new or interesting going on...Kind of like when you go back to the fridge hoping something new will show up.

I simply don't have the time or interest anymore to keep checking up on the forum.

Thanks to all the people who post more than me and made the board interesting and a nice place to be while I was using it.

To all the people who detract from the forum with abrasive argumentative behavior and disrespect for others: I hope you don't make anyone else like you.

Goodbye

It's the dead season. Nothing really to talk about. The draft is coming up, and the Indians, etc. Hope you make it back when the season and everything starts back up.

Sorry to hear your leaving....Some times ya just have to let the things other say on here roll off your back, thier entitled to thier opinon, just as you and I am, some agree most dont, I mostly just joke around and have a good time on here, very rarely ever giving my honest feelings,

There are alot, alot of very good, wonderfull people on this form, some are alittle forcefull, and very opinonaded, but hey, you have that anywhere ya go,

hopefully you'll stick around and just join in on the fun.....whats important in life dosent happen on a form, it's who welcomes ya back home at the end of the day,,,

Stick around bud...

So i take it you're not taking part in the Oscar pick 'ems contest?

This board in all it's forms has been starved for news at this time of year.

Good luck finding a forum that doesn't have these types of people....you might be looking a while.

I think it gets harder around here in the offseason....most of us don't have much better to do than debate/argue. I'm guilty as are many, many others. But, we've been doing it for 5 years or so, so we're used to it. Most of these guys are like illegitimate brothers in a weird way.

Things will settle down...maybe. Stick around, Kingcob.

It has very little if anything to do with arguing, I typically do well to avoid those threads or skim over the author. Please stop assuming that my choice for departure just because it is the most dramatic and placed at the end of my message. It was more of a light attempt at stabbing the people I felt were detracting from the forum without having to share their names or give a detail reason as to why I dislike them. They are minute compared to the people I enjoy on the forum and not really worth the effort of mentioning.

I'm the most guilty of all. I usually just joke about; and people hate it. Occassionally I make a concerted effort to produce a meaningful post, and people rip it.

But I still stick with. Cuz I'm bored, and without a TV it helps pass some time.

I've found that a lot of time people argue about the same things over and over. Iraq, Religion, Abortion, animal abuse, homeless people, child abuse, etc. etc.

I've got a weird opinion others have their own opinion.

During the season its better, there is much more to talk about.

Right now it seems to be all draft chatter, and FA dreams.

And Iraq---as always.---thanks Pit.

*Typical Pit Response*

I didn't start Iraq,W did!

Maybe, just maybe what you're failing to realise King,is that while we argue and bicker, sometimes intently,we're all Browns fans at heart. Brothers and sisters argue, husbands and wives argue, but beneath it all, there's a common bond that holds them all together.

Many people on this forum I've met. Many I've spent quite a bit of time with and getting to know. Some, who I disagree with on many issues,I'd really like to get to know much better. DC and Peen come to mind firstly. And I'd really like to meet Arch too. Even though our political views are much different, underneath it all,we have many thoughts and ideas in common.

So it would be nice if you decided to stick around, but to each their own. Given any large group of people, you will find the same basic group of personalities. Personaly, for as many members we have here,I think our group is far better overall than most. That's why I'm here and I'm STAYING here!

So good luck to you. I hope you find the utopia you seek.

Hey KingCob....If you can handle being a fan during the gruelling seasons we have had....then the offseason should be a piece of cake....

This isn`t so bad really...coming on the board after a loss.....Well thats just plain suicide...

And coming on after a win....Well thats just....Amazing.........Lucky.....Can we do it for 2 weeks in a row.......Even then people complain about guys who did good.......just a CRAZY place to be........

I don't think you'll find a forum with fewer trolls than this one. It's so simple to just ignore the few folks that get your panties in a bunch.

I really think that the problem lies with the person that lets others affect them to the point that they give up. By responding after saying you were leaving, I really don't think you want to.

This forum has a great system of checks and balances in the people that regularly post here. We've all had disagreements here, but that's because there are many intelligent people with a wide range of beliefs and values. According to the other thread, trolls will go away, bullies will stay, but you can ignore them.

Sometimes I would guess yes.
Othertimes, I think they want to be talked into staying.

People who come and start trouble and then leave. Mostly in the smack shack. I don't consider any of the regular posters here trolls, if that's what you're asking.

My point was that there are very few trolls here compared to other forums....and if that's his case for leaving I don't think he'll find the grass greener anywhere else.

Oh sorry I thought you were talking about why this poster was leaving. I got the impression it was more because of bullies than trolls but perhaps you have info I don't.

I think the whole "bullies" theme is nothing more than attempt by some internet writer to attempt to gain "political correctness" on meassage boards.

Nothing more than think skinned people who simply can't deal with people who have type A personalities and wish them to conform into someone they're not. Some are alpha, some are not. Nothing more than a very comparable look at the world we live in.

It's just phsyco babble.

Respect? You think heated topics from people from oposing views is going to boil down to "respect"? since when? Where?

In our nations political process? In political campaigns? When people get into heated debates, the more heated, the less the "respect factor" enters into the equasion.

Now,if you're just talking about someone posting a question or a general post and people ripping into them for "no appearant reason" I can see your point. Is that what you're refering to?

Because I see the two in seperate lights. Deeply emotional subjects often become heated from both sides of many issues as they progress. So I think you can anticipate those type of topics to become more heated simply due to the deep emotional beliefs and personal strong convictions within many posters.

But if you're talking about people just starting to ride people's ass out of the blue for no reason in particular,I can see what you are trying to say.

I'll agree with Pit on this one. People feel very strongly about some topics, and it generates very heated debates. Very few people have the talent to get their point across on these topics without being offensive. (In case anyone has noticed, I've really tried to work on this).

Some people like to push other's buttons, others try to bully their point across, some use sarcastic bordering on nasty humor and others try to intellectualize. You'll find these things whenever and wherever you discuss politics, religion, the war in Iraq, etc. Not just on message forums. I try to look past the semantics and decide what the person is really trying to say. The only time I get harsh is when someone puts words in my mouth.

If you want to avoid these types of interactions, just avoid those threads. There's something for everyone in here.

Maybe do what I did. Give up long deep thought passionate posts. Not that I ever had any. I tried a few times though. Problem was I'm such a bad typist that by the time I got those pearls of wisdom down in print I had timed out and the form was no longer valid . Bad words flew from my mouth and it really took a toll on my blood presure so I confine my thoughts to a few simple sentences and forget about it. It's alot more fun that way

The posts that crack me up are the ones that are a quote inside a quote inside a quote inside a quote ... talk about deja vu squared, its like reading everything 50 times ... makes my head hurt.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. IMO

What's "rude" to some,is "forcefull" to others. Sracastic humor to some,is belittling to others. It's all about each individuals perception and sensibilities. Their environments and backgrounds. People are very different and percieve things in different ways.

That's why they have the "Rules of the Board" and not people's personal interpritation as to what they as individuals see as proper or improper. Well, for the most part anyway.

Because the Refs too have their "interpritation" of what "is sexual content" and I could go on. But each Ref too,is an individual. So their interpritation of what fits within the guidelines of the rules and what doesn't may vary somewhat from person to person. I think that's why often times we must keep that in mind, rather than assume that one of you may be being singled out by "the Refs". Because each one of them is an individuals. And perceptions will vary from individual to individual.

Personally, I think this announcement is silly and was done to get attention. And if it was attention you were after, you certainly got it. I'm amazed at the number of positive posts you received.

Having said that, your 'dig' at some of the posters was accurate, but you just have to deal with it. The world is made up of all kinds of people with greatly varying degrees of personality. If they're being abrasive or disrespectful toward you, then stand up for yourself and throw it right back at them.

Because the bottom line is this. The postives of this board outweigh the negatives. Until it's the other way around, you should stick around.

And at the end of the day, we are all Browns fans.

And because of this one common thread, I would gladly share a hug, a tear, and a beer with any of you - even the abrasive ones.

Hell, if the Browns ever win it all, I'm buying!

That includes you King.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
