looks like Ohara and the Giants are 1 mil apart. He might be available. If we dont get Fraley signed do we go after him? We will need a center. Or maybe if he is available it will help us sign Fraley at more reasonable rate.

Botch let this guy go. He was actually very good for the Giants, he played very well. Just b/c you remember a name and he was on a bad team doesn't mean he was bad.

From what I've heard O'hara has played much better since he was here. I'm not advocating signing him but if he becomes a free agent it will help us because Fraley won't be the only starting caliber center on the market.

I believe Ohara was an alternate on the pro bowl...

But I could be wrong...

No way...............Ohara is not on our radar..............not saying that he is bad but there has to be a plan of attack by now!

Man..............we need to get Fraley signed like yesterday!

It is almost time for free agency and Savage has to have a little time to focus on his objectives.

I have a feeling the checks are already made out to a couple of players that are ready to be in Brown and Orange, but the check to Hank has to be made out first!

I have a feeling Savage will get it done................I have not lost faith in him..............not yet!

GO BROWNS................we need one more first round pick, like we did last season, let's keep it going! Bring on big Joe Thomas...............it is time to address the OL in a major way!

He was one of the better lineman that we let go.
He's a guy that we wouldn't rush out and sign...but as time goes by, who knows.

With Ohara gone, would the Giants go after Fraley if we drag our feet?

No they have a replacement, I think they drafted someone last year.

Ohara is a stud center but he isnt a guard. anyone that watched ohara in camp can testify to the kid is a damn good center and it was stupid to draft faine. Hell Melvin fowler had a great year also. Its the guards folks.

They only have 1 other center listed on their roster. Matt Turallo was a undrafted free agent picked up after Dallas cut him. he was a rookie in 05 out of Syracuse. The only oline they drafted last year was a tackle.

I'd take O'Hara in a heartbeat.

The guy was a square peg Guard in Cleveland, but was a pretty decent Center here, and has become a very good one with the Giants.

Horrible guard. Average center.

If the Browns braintrust want him to play guard, they should all be shot.

Twice.

If they want him to play center, they better be willing to pay. Huge jump in the cap this year. It's gonna be crazy.

So YES, NY is looking at Hank, and if we don't get him on board, I bet they will...
We should have had him signed way back, they knew Bentley was out till 08...not the best move Phil.

And what if Savage doesn't "get it done"? What if Fraley walks and we're left overpaying for someone less capable?

You'd think with the total implosion at C last year that Fraley would have been signed in week 10-12, but he wasn't.

This can only mean one of two things:

A) Fraley doesn't want to be here for any reasonable money period

B) Savage is screwing around with our MOST VALUABLE FREE AGENT and risking starting out 07 with the same gaping hole at C as 06.

When does Phil lose his credibility?

Just a general reply.......I find it funny how when we had this guy people couldn't wait to get rid of him.

Why is it was have linemen who suck yet go on to play and start for other teams??

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Peen, Yeah, he started for the Giants,,, that doesn't mean he was good,,, just means they didn't have anyone better,,,

Do you think that if they would have drafted Faine or been able to get Fraley or Bentley that Ohara would have been thier starter for even one second? I don't.

It's just timing.. They have a new GM right,,, he's probably looking at weak areas of the team and looking to upgrade... well,, now you know the reason for Ohara being available..

But of course, you already know all of that,,,RIGHT?

Enough is enough .. Shaun was , and is a fine center ( Bentley when he is healthy , NO ) .. Better than Fraley ???????? I think yes ! .. I like them both !

Davis was an idiot when it comes to putting an NFL team together ..

I would not mind this at all. I never wanted to get rid of any linemen. I thought we could have kept them while we added depth, but that never happened.

For the right price...I wouldn't mind adding mroe depth.

And we've taken other teams garbage and started them on ours..
Works that way..DOESN'T MEAN they're good..it means that the team either couldn't or didn't want to get a better person.
Botch was a idiot..yes a idiot when it came to talent evaluation..how many in here said Ohara was too weak to play OG but would have held his own at center?..Botch...he could have started Ohara at CENTER, but he was too focused on getting Wholly out of town..then he wanted get rid of Fowler..

If push comes to shove and we need a center going into '07, I'd take him if the price was right. O'Hara was out of position when he played here before. He's a center and a decent one at that. The last two seasons he's anchored a line that finished 7th and 6th in the league in rushing the past two seasons. Yeah, he'll be 30, but he's only missed 1 game in the past two seasons. It wouldn't be the worst FA move we could make unless the price is way out of whack (which, given all the cap money floating around this off-season, is probably more likely than not). Doesn't cost anything to take a look at him.

O'Hara was in Cleveland before moving to the Giants. He was decent/average. But, to be blunt - no that ship has sailed.

If Hank can't be signed? Any legit. option should be considered. And O'Hara is such an option. BUT..........

Hank has that "hustle and work ethic" that can be very infectious to younger players. He has a work ethic that day in and day out, game in and game out,he gives 110%.

I like seeing that on gameday. I like seeing hustle and desire. We have been sorely lacking in that department and I would like to see any rookie OL brought in here be working in and around that environment. Hopefully it will be as contagious in our future as staff infections have been in our past.

So my top option is Fraley. But if it just CAN'T be done, then O'Hars must be looked at as a possible option.
