I'm a big Apple guy ...iMac, iPad, iPod ... got them all. Apple has "user friendly" down to a science.

But I just got the HTC EVO, and I have to say this device is badass. I'm addicted to it.

Anyone else have the EVO? I love this phone.

I have one. Had the Motorola Droid before it, but LOVE my EVO and the Android OS.

Yeah it is a badass phone.

Can really see why some are saying better than the iPhone.

My only complaint is the battery. Even with the app killer and turning off services I'm not currently using the battery gets burned up pretty fast.

Large screen will do that....That's the price you pay worth it if you ask me.

I've heard conflicting stances about app killers... I've heard that they are actually worse on batteries... Supposedly the way Android is suppose to work is that it leaves some processes open in the very very deep background so it does not have to fully open it when it needs it next time.. When you use an app killer, it kills apps causing them to use more battery when restarting next time than what they were doing in the background..

I have a rooted (old) Mytouch and have setCPU running on it where it underclocks the processor when I am not really using it..

Tux,

there may be something to that. I have the Eris, which is a terrible phone btw, and it has been really slow lately due to the new android upgrade that came out in the fall which is too much for the phone to handle. a lady at the verizon store downloaded an app killer on my phone to speed things up (instead of just openly replacing it which verizon should be doing) and since she did that, my phone has been dying before I hit the 5:00 drive home. Before, I would plug it in at night and it would still have half of my battery life left.

I have my pretty basic Sprint phone.

It makes phone calls from damn near everywhere I have ever been.

That's all I want and/or need out of my phone.

Just because they advertise 4G, doesn't mean it appears quickly.

Sprint has been advertising it for a year and their list of 4G available cities is pretty slim overall.

why did you respond to me? am i leading the charge of smart phones? haha j/k.

i the smart phones because i like getting my emails the minute they arrive. knowing when an employee is having computer problems and stopping them before they do more harm than good is helpful to me. and oh yeah, playing games while sitting at the doctors office in the waiting room is cool too or at a boring Christmas Eve party. . . lol

My mom has the Evo. I actually saw a good deal from Target out in California for the holidays, $99 out the door with a new two year contract. The Samsung Epic was $149, which i ended up getting, can't be happier. Sprint really did something great with these two phones to bring them out of their slump. Plus, Boston is 4g-ified so that's always fun. It's literally as fast as my broadband cable with Dawgtalkers.

My wife is going from a blackberry to the epic in a few days and I will be going from a samsung moment to the Evo first of feburary.

I am so looking forward to it, not to say that the moment is a bad phone... but I am stoked my the larger screen and the hdmi port.

My wife is leaning towards the epic for its slide out keyboard, I chose the moment over the hero for that reason and kind of regret it now... thiis is why Im gettting the Evo.

My Droid had the keyboard and I found I hardly used it, since the keyboard screen was big enough and easy enough to use. Even better on the EVO's bigger screen.

Can you make a phone call on it??

In the end, all I need in a phone is the abily to make and receive a call.

I don't need it to be a defibrillator or metal detector.

I am still waiting for one that can see through peoples clothing, but now I digress in to a childhood fantasy.

For what it's worth I originally got the Epic. I really did not like it. I did not like the slide out keyboard. Thought I would. I took it back and traded it for the EVO - which is cheaper. I couldn't be happier.
