At no point did they say it had "nothing to do with it"

You wanted to claim this team sucked only because Lebron was gone...

And then they brought up the point that not just Lebron is gone...

But hey, say whatever makes your argument sound better, it's what most people do...

lol @ LBJ backpedaling on that tweet he sent out after the Cavs game last night. "It wasn't even from me". And here I thought he was embracing the villain role. Said he loved it. At least, that's what Windy told me.

And what I'm saying is that n ot only did we lose James, we also lack a competent replacement for him.

Not a clone, just a competent starter.

Wrong. PunchSmack said: "It proves nothing about the previous Cavs teams" - "it" being that Lebron left the team. Of course, this is predicated on the assumption that somehow Shaq, Z, and West (Varejo not included) would make this a winning team, an assumption I think is untenable.

That comment wasn't even from candyman. He wasn't directing that at that particular team.

James questionable for Thursday with ankle sprain

LOS ANGELES (AP)—LeBron James(notes) sprained his left ankle on Wednesday night and says he will decide Thursday if he will play in Miami’s game at Denver.

James was hurt on a drive to the basket midway through the fourth quarter of the Heat’s 111-105 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. His momentum carried him out of bounds past the baseline, but he hobbled back onto the court wincing while the Heat still had the ball and sank a 3-pointer from the left corner.

The league’s MVP finished the game and had an X-ray afterward, saying there was no damage.

“The doctor told me it’s day-to-day so I’ll see how I feel tomorrow,” James said. “I don’t have to be a hero in the regular season if I’m not close to 100 percent.”

Ok....Ok....I was saying that Lebron leaving proves nothing about how good the team was or wasn't when he was here. Why? Because it's not the same team just minus Lebron. You can't assume anything about how good or bad his supporting cast was. The FACT was they had the best overall record two years in a row....so it couldn't have just been one man.

And anyway, I said having Shaq, West, Z, and Varejo (I know he just went on the IR) wouldn't make them a lot better...but better. You can't deny it would make them better to have those guys. I never put a number on how many more wins or if they'd be in contention for the playoffs.

Nobody is saying Lebron was a role player. Of course he was the best player on the team. He opened everything up and took over in games when nobody else could or would. But to say the same team was a 10-win team without him is crazy. I always said they would be a possible 8 seed, at best.

the team was also built around him. shooters. defensive players. role guys. they did the absolute best to surround him given their financial situation, as well as the fact that they couldn't land big time free agents.

lbj was the point guard more than 70% of the time, your best defensive player, and your top scorer, and when the other guys are there because of him, of course they will struggle when he leaves.

the centerpiece was holding all the other pieces up. in other words, he was a huge part, but they don't win 60+ games 2 years in a row without that supporting cast, as well as a coach who preached defense.

If we were ganna start all over, I kinda wish we would have kept Mike Brown, nothing aginst Scott...

i think a lot of us were wrong about mike brown.

he was a good coach who could have been great.

if you put some of the pieces together, you can see that he was not at fault for the poor offense. i believe majority of the time lebron would just overrule him on the court and play the stanky leg. if it's true he acted like a 10 year old in practice about certain issues? and finally, danny ferry basically jumping ship after brown gets fired.

put the pieces together. the guy is a solid coach.

i don't fault byron for what we're seeing though. this job was set up to fail. i think we all had way too much with expectations this year, myself definitely included. i said they could fight for 40 wins if they maxed out. i don't think they are going to sniff 20. i think most of us would agree with that.

the next year or two is going to hurt but things will get better.

and i absolutely love that blowhard mike greenberg on his radio show saying "lebron got the last laugh"

really, i mean that's it, it was over after the cavs, who are going nowhere, lost by 50 to the lakers?

the cleveland fan will laugh again in may (you know, when it really matters) when the heat get decked by boston. i really hate that bspn is on it's knees in front of lbj and the heat. sorry if that is kinda graphic but it's true.

yeah, mike greenberg, same guy who basically said cam newton and his family did nothing wrong by taking money and that it was a stupid rule.

I think the saddest part in all of this, is one of Cleveland sports greatest moments (not that it lead to a title mind you) will probably never be shown again...

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people.

I just wish it was happening with James on the floor.

Although it is rather nice seeing him hurt his ankle and then watch his team get plastered after he mouthed off about karma.......

Well, it's a good thing he went to a NEW supporting cast, that could hold their own with him out of the lineup,

I loathed that they didn't give much play to Cecil being at the game despite him accepting missing that game as punishment for the NCAA "non" violation.

He made Auburn's admin look terrible as people try to blame them for getting them in, he makes himself look like the sleazeball he is, and he makes Cam look bad (if he is an extension of his dad as was always mentioned before the whole MissSt thing came about).

--------------------

as for the Cavs. I wish we could be watching Irving right now. Hope his foot is healing well.

Lebron is on one of the best teams in the NBA and the Cavs are one of the worst. And Karma is a two game losing streak for Miami? Poor desperate Cavs fan trying to make sense of an unfair universe.

So I guess Miami must have surrounded LeBron with garbage. I mean that's why they lost by 28 points without him.

The Cavs might as well be playing the Globetrotters right now. Someone needs to inform these schlubs that they can't give up 70 points in the first half of game and have any expectation of competing.

I'm wondering if we could just forfeit the rest of the season and save ourselves the embarrassment.

In case you didn't notice, the Heat can't win without Lebron either.

Lebron used to complain that he didn't have a supporting cast here, yet he has to score just as many points to keep Miami afloat as he did here. - Only difference is, the Cavs were okay when Lebron's supporting cast had to deal with injuries. However, when one of the big 3 in Miami goes down, the Heat do not have enough of a supporting cast to pull through. - Hence their record when Dwayne Wade was out earlier in the year.

I wanted a rebuild and to tank a season or two, but this is so hard to watch. There is no defense and watching Jamison jack up awful shots all the time makes me crazy.

Actually, I was talking about James hurting his ankle as soon as he opened his big fat mouth and tried being clever while talking about "karma".

I never said Lebron was irrelevant to either of these teams. Of course it matters when he goes out. But Miami without Lebron is still much better than Cleveland without Lebron.

Cavs went into the Nuggets game with 8 healthy players and Mo got hurt 5 minutes. For those keeping score at home, that's as many injured players as healthy with 7 apiece (Ryan Hollins was not with the team due to a death in his family). Extended minutes for Manny Harris, Alonzo Gee and Samardo Samuels. No team could hope to compete under those circumstances.

In other news, the Bulls hand Miami their third straight loss.

Semi-related note...

The call by Stacey King on NBA TV's broadcast of the Heat-Bulls game when Kyle Korver hit the game-clinching three-pointer is hilarious. I recorded it...take a listen: http://twaud.io/qcsh

Cavs are so hard up for warm bodies that Byron Scott suited up for a 5 on 5 at practice today.
