A lot of the buzz about Rodgers was that his arm was questionable and whether or not it could hold up in the cold and windy Lambeau ... does anyone here remember him having a "weak" or "questionable" arm? And if so, did you see improvement on it?
YOU ARE CORRECT...It was a question for him at that time...
His Mechanics WERE NOT...
I know this because Pete 314 and myself amongst others were riding us HARD to take Rogers...
Right now one might say McCoy's ahead of Rogers after year one...He actually played...
Much more than route running with these WR's is gonna be BRAINS...Multiple plays can be called at the LOS with McCoy...Any receiver had better have the BRAINS to make the adjustments the QB is calling for...
NONE of GB's receivers r any type of Pro-Bowler...NONE r great...It works because of BRAINS and a QB who's ACCURATE...
Go Browns!!!

Jennings was a Pro-bowler this year and has put up PB caliber numbers for 3 years now. Donald Driver has been to 3 PBs, as recent as after the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

Jennings was 4th in yards, 2nd in receiving touchdowns, 9th in yards/catch, 6th in yards/game, and 7th in total touchdowns this past year. If that doesn't qualify as top-10, I don't know what does.

Well, we already have a capable pass-catching RB (Peyton Hillis) and a WCO QB (Colt McCoy) and capable TEs (Evan Moore and the aging Ben Watson) on the roster. With that said, I'm not convinced that we currently have the tools at the WR position to fully take advantage of these pieces.
I think that our draft choices need to take that into consideration and make sure that we fill the need at the WR spot and we'll be set.
Of course, some pieces on the defense are definitely useful but overall, I'm impressed with most of the pieces that we have there. If you take a look at our games from last season, we only had the advantage in TOP in a couple of those games. The only game that we had a considerable edge was in the NE game (a 17 minute advantage). In several of the others that we lost, we had considerable deficits in TOP (notably the Jets - 20 minute deficit, Cincy #2 - 16 minutes, Buffalo - 12:30 minutes, Putzburgh #2, 7 minutes, KC - 6:30 minutes). In an odd occurrence, we had an 11 minute deficit against New Orleans but still won because of two defensive TDs.
I hear ya. we are sound at RB but we lack depth, we are sound at TE and we seem to have depth there.
I'd hope that we find at least 1 WR from Free Agency (if it even exists) and at least one D linemen or RT from Free Agency. Then get some impact guys in the draft.
I'm not a fan of spending big money on a WR in the draft... Dline, LB's, Oline,, yeah, I'm all for it because of where we stand today. I wouldn't feel that way if both lines were in good shape with decent depth.
I haven't always thought this way, but these days I'll almost always lean towards top notch trench players first.

Well, we really don't know about Hardesty yet. We do know that he didn't catch a lot of passes out of the backfield at Tennessee but that doesn't necessarily mean anything at the pro level.
I was mulling over the draft picks on the CBS link provided earlier by someone and I looked at ONLY college offenses that ran the WCO. We need players that are familiar with the offense we are going to run and that's all there is to it. For example, I don't want OSU Buckeyes on the offense. They aren't familiar with the system. I looked at the kid from Indiana and some of the smaller schools (like Boise State) and even some Division II schools (namely the kids from ACU and WTAMU kids).
I want great trench players and I'm not opposed to getting someone in FA, but I don't want budget busters like Haynesworth, etc. I'll take a veteran player that produces but is quiet and below the radar.
We also need a kicker and the kid from Nebraska seems to be head and shoulders above the others. I wouldn't mind taking a mid round choice on him. He might survive to us at the 4th round. I'd even consider taking him there.

We don't know what we really have in Hardesty. What little we saw of him was pretty impressive.. But what good is a great player if he can't stay off the DL.
I know that somehow, someway, the back up role behind Hillis has to be filled. I'm not sure that guy is on the roster today.

Maybe not. We'll find out.
Hardesty had an injury that kept him out the entire season. It happens. I'm not going to sweat it but I would certainly take a RB that can be used primarily as a pass catching back. Even if it's in the later rounds.
