Maybe it's because I was in Youngstown, but I don't remember any venom towards Tressel.

I remember when he went to the Buckeyes basketball game, and was announced to thunderous applause, and said that his first, 2nd, and 3rd jobs were to beat Michigan.

I do remember some trepidation on the part of some Buckeye fans, but seem to recall that going away rather quickly ..... like the first time people heard him speak.

I was happy for coach, and also kinda bummed out that my local team had lost such a great coach, and that the area had lost such an outstanding citizen.

make Shurmer OC and hire Fisher. WE coulda had a V8 instead we go a dud.

Still doing your goofy comparison's I see.
If a dud is as good as a ham sandwich, we should be golden.

Man, it would be nice to get lucky like that again.

Knowing your prognostication abilities, I suddenly feel pretty good about the Shurmur pick.

I can't believe people actually think that it would be good for the team to fire Shurmur.

Well, that would be a crazy idea at this point... First and foremost, Fisher has said he's tired.. Why in the hell would anyone want to hire him as a head coach when he admits to being tired..

Makes no sense.

But that aside, we'd be even MORE of a laughing stock if we removed Shumur before he had a chance to run his first Rookie Mini camp.

And no, I"m not saying that Shumur is the answer.. I don't know one way or the other. But doing this is not sensable at all....

I find it hilarious that you guys can judge a coach who has not coached a game with the team yet.

Fisher would have never came here. He wants total control just as Cowher and Gruden did. This franchise was too unstable to have a one guy in charge set up.

Those calling Shurmur Holmgren's puppet are even more hilarious. Holmgren is a HOF coach, having a new head coach that will keep with his philosophies is a good thing. Funny how many wanted Homgren to coach, but are whining like babies because he might have influence on the head coach.

You don't hire a guy like Holmgren to build your franchise, and then expect him to sit in an office and not try to help build the team and staff. I personally hope Shurmur is talking with Holmgren everyday about being the head coach and how to approach certain situations that the head coach has to deal with. His influence helped Mangini, a guy with a totally different philosophy, why wouldn't it help with a young first time coach that has been schooled with the exact philosophy as Holmgren?
