Couple funny beer ones so far. The Doritos one where the guy licks the other guys finger was pretty disturbing.

Short but effective.
Coke always has something good for SB commercials, the latest was pretty good I thought.

The Career Builders ones with the monkeys are always great. Roseann getting nailed with the tree was pretty good.

Dear Kim,
Your rack is unreal...
Loved that one, the young Vader VW one and I thought the Doritos one when the guy sucked the other dudes finger was hilariously disturbing. I think that was the point.

I really liked that serious commercial done by Chrysler for the 200. The Detroit one. Very good.

Ditto that. "This is Detroit. This is what we do." If there's anything I can be prideful of (not claiming DET, just help the auto industry with processing steel) around here, it's that.
I did like the Ozzy one, too.

Loved the one with the '70s and '80s shows. Fonzie in a Packers jersey under his leather jacket was awesome!

I thought outside of the Safe Auto commercial where everyone was getting kicked in the groin and the Vader commercial they were all lame.
The doritos one with the finger licking and pants sniffing was awkward to say the least.

I just don't understand why more companies don't just go with the absolute gold mine:
1) Midgets; 2) Monkeys; and 3) Clumsy fat kids.
You just can't go wrong with it.

I agree. There were a couple good ones, a few ok ones, and a lot of ones where my wife and I looked at each other like "huh?"
And, I have to say, I'm intrigued by the movie "cowboys and aliens", though I'm not sure if it's because I think it'll be good, or I think it will be horrendous.

I thought they were better than in recent years. I'd say there was an average amount of laugh-out-loud commercials, but instead of the rest being unfunny crap, most of the others were at least amusing. There were too many movie trailers and plain car commercials, though.

My favorites comedywise were probably the Pepsi Max Torperdo one and Teleflora. I like the Detroit Auto one, sort of reminded me of the Nike "This is Cleveland" type commercials they did a few years ago. Also a special nod to the Motorola commerical for making a slight dig at Apple's 1984 commercial, and role-reversing it back onto them.

10 or 11 different movies advertised. All of them with over the top special effects, probably CGI
None of them looked like a good movie.
The face of the E trade baby has changed. ?
I liked the Cruise, Eco, Cruise Eagle, elderly people add, but it won't sell the car.

The boy who plays Vader was on the Today Show just now. He's stinkin' cute! Six years old and despite the commercial, still hasn't seen the Star Wars movies. His Mom said they didn't even know the commercial was meant for the SB until the day of filming. They just thought it was his first national ad.

I honestly can't believe nobody has converged on the Groupon commercial mocking the plight of the people of Tibet.... I thought that was in extremely poor taste.

Well, to be fair, the Vader one did play before the Super Bowl so it wasn't it's premier last night.

Weak batch overall. Doritos/pug & Darth Vadar Detroit was very classy until the end, didn't need Eminem chiming in. Kicks in the groin, slaps in the face, hit in the head with a soda can, and the blatant inappropriate sex references were just sad, trying too hard, very weak writing. Hope your kids were all in bed. Let's all scramble for the $$$ no matter what the cost.

really
It's Cowboys and Aliens. And it will rock.
The commercials were mostly disappointing to me. Is it me or are they getting away w/ some racier language and references now? And how many relied on people getting hit in the head or crotch?
They are already a blur to me, but I dug most of the Dorito's commercials and the Vader Kid. Of course I have no recollection of what car they were selling. Also, I really liked the Carmax commercials.
I acknowledge Eminem's talent, but am not the biggest fan in the world. But that car commercial with him driving through Detroit gave me chills. If they hired those ad people to make a commercial about Cleveland's desire for a sports win, I'd have a fit.
And the geek in me loved that Coke commercial w/ the fantasy battle, dragon, etc . . .
