Hi gang, I know I have been MIA lately. I have been dealing with issues over the last year that involve both my physical and mental health. (still dealing with it but this isn't about me) I would really appreciate everyones prayers for my family.

For those of you who know what's been going on with my dad, things have taken a small detour on the road to health for him. About a month ago he was rushed to the hospital because he collapsed and told mom to call for an ambulance. He was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and while he was being admitted had a mild heart attack. (for those of you who don't know, dad has been having strokes since march of 09 and was diagnosed untreatable with his strokes, he's also an amputee with diabetes) While in the hospital for the pneumonia the doctors found lumps on his right breast. Biospy was done and results came back positive for BREAST CANCER. This is why it is no joke when I tell you guys to check for lumps because you never know.

Tomorrow dad has surgery and they are doing a mastectomy and possibly a radical mastectomy. Won't know anything till after the surgery to the extend of the removal but it's gonna be a long road for all of my family.

Please keep dad in your prayers and thoughts tomorrow as he will need them. (I did gloss over some things but if you want to know more of his condition you can pm me)

Thanks Lees. I appreciate that. Just kinda wish I was able to be at the hospital with Mom and my sisters. I know that they could use my cool calm collectedness tomorrow. But due to distance and how quick this all came about, I am unable to get there at this time.

Doing a few for you AND the family and dad especially. Strength in numbers and all that. Strength. Done.

Hi gang, on phone with BlondeSteeler. Dad is still in surgery. They found more cancer than they had originally expected. They will be taking the lymph nodes under his arm as well as his right breast. Will let everyone know when he is finally out of surgery and in recovery.

It is weird though, today while I was in post-op, they had a TV on and there was something on the news about breast cancer, how it can effect men, but how they don't always need to take all of the lymph nodes automatically. Now they test them one at a time or something.

I was kind of out of it a little at the time, but kinda remember a little of it now.

Dad is in his own room now and being nasty as all hell to everyone. That is a result of having frontal lobe strokes he has been having for the last 2 years.

Thanks for all the prayers. Dad is home and they are waiting to find out if he will need more surgery. He's recovering slowly with little to no pain from the incision. He had to have a radical mastectomy. The doctors are hoping that they got all the cancer.

On another note, my youngest sister is waiting for her test results to find out if she will be going thru something similar to Dad. Please keep my family in your prayers.
