I personally think Peterson and Dareus are the 2 best talents in this draft.

I realize it is out of the box to think that Gabe Carimi (or anybody like him or better at RT) would be anywhere "worth" losing the risk of taking what we need at other spots, but that is as worth the risk as any other crapshoot we might take.

It's a crapshoot. I say finish building the OLine, and watch things fall into place. Even if you don't take the next "BPA lineman" until Round Two.

Go get the damn guy. I'm tired of crapshooting the wad on "skill" players.

If we really like Gabe, then we can draft down and add some extra picks.
^
The consensus seemed to be that Green will be our selection at #6. Actually they are split down the middle between us and the Bengals.

I would rather we trade down if it comes down to drafting a WR at 6.
Washington and St. Louis could be likely trading partners in that scenario I think.

Counting on Tony Pashoes to man the RT position is futile.

We need to fix both lines to move forward.

Well, we're along the same geometric plane anyway,...

If Pashos was good-to-go, I stand down,...but he AIN'T,...

So, a continuing Hotel Hyatt front door at the right side means no protection to throw to a #6 Green anyway,....

I'm OK with a trade down,...in the long run, it costs le$$,....

And I'm OK with a strong, no-miss defensive stalwart, as long as the 2nd pick is an OLineman.

I guess trade down is a possibility if we're looking at a tackle, but I want some good compensation.

I think AJ Green will be a star, I dunno if any of these O-Linemen are going to be superstars like Joe Thomas. But yeah, I guess our spot gives us a lot of options with who we could trade with, Wash, St Louis, Miami, Jacksonville, even the Seahawks, could all use Blaine Gabbert (the top QB).

If one of them thinks he's got it, we might get another 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder or something. Especially if we make it clear, we could possibly get the 49ers to hook us up with a 2nd or 3rd round pick (if that's who Harbaugh wants)

or tennessee if they want a QB and think SF will take the guy they want. Our 1 and 5 for their 1 and 3 works out about right.

I'm convinced we are going defense with our 1st and 2nd round picks. Between the players released and the free agents, the Browns have almost nothing on defense.

Are those YOUR picks or YOUR BPA ranks???...The ones you highlighted...

MY 1-2-3 are set in stone and will not change...

Peterson
Green
Dareus

Want some draft shake-up at the top???

Watch Gabbert and Newton real close thru all of this...I can see Carolina going QB...Also Buffalo...Cincy...Arizona...

PLEASE take both of these guys off the board by 6...I want NO part of either...

Newton...Physical freak...All the size and athleticism in the world doesn't translate to the one thing that most ALL FAILURES stem from...And that is the ability to read pre and post snap...Next year it's gonna be Pryor...Same thing...50-50 shot at studliness...NO THANKS that high in any draft...

Gabbert...The dreaded "Spread"...And then comes that one STAT that severely hampers success for these highly rated QB's...NUMBER OF STARTS...We've seen it before in years past...And the FAILURE rate of QB's who've had a limited amount of starts is tremendous...NO THANKS that high in any draft...

I actually hope Cincy takes Gabbert and leaves Green on the board if we want em'...

Check this one out...

1) Carolina--Fairley
2) Denver---Bowers (Fox)
3) Buff---Newton
4) Cincy---Peterson
5) Zona---Gabbert

6) Take your pick...Green or Dareus...

This is undoubtedly going to be the most wild draft we've ever seen...For one reason...

The likelihood of a new CBA being in tact by draft time is slim and none...Therefore no Free Agency...That right there is going to have teams entering the draft with those dreaded HOLES and NEEDS that are normally filled via FA...Before any draft...

And we're gonna be in the same boat...We're going to see players DROP simply because they were passed up in order to fill that dreaded HOLE left from no FA...This sucks but it's gonna be a wild-ass draft...

We'll quickly see what teams are drafting BPA...And what teams are drafting to fill HOLES...

That's a good point.

We sure made a bunch of changes heading in to a year with a lot of unknowns.

Lets switch to a 4-3 D....but wait, there is no FA so we can't sign a DT or two....do we now draft 3 DT's in the first 5 picks or do we just play anybody we can suit up??

It's going to be interesting for sure.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

If Cinci takes Gabbert at their spot, I'm going to be even happier than if they had drafted Mallet

Yes....it's who I would take for that particular team.....It's a Mock and I wanted to see how mine stacked up against the so called experts.

If a top 5 team selects a QB it will only increase the value of our pick, because some one who should be off the draft board will fall

Good point DnD, I think that the good teams will not change their drafting philosophy, but the one's that typically draft poor and do not take the best player available might reach even more so then in the past.
No FA period before the draft is a huge set back for any team who was not a final 8 team. Like us.
