A player who had a very big impact in the games he played in. Key being, the games he played in.

Bummer. Imagine the career he MIGHT have had if he could have remained healthy. Loved watching him play when he was on the field. Good luck going forward Bob (whatever that entails).

My guess is he goes to a contender who can afford to bring him in. He won't go to a rebuilding unit ... maybe to try and help put someone over the top however?
If Nnamdi leaves I could see him in Oakland as a star presence ... maybe even to baltimore or pittsburgh who could use secondary help ... even if neither is "desperate" for a safety... I feel like Rex Ryan would want him as well ..?

Game changing guy when healthy. Hope the Browns don't touch him though.

I have a feeling this is the reason we didn't want to re-sign someone like Brodney Pool. He wasn't an awful player (and wasn't as impacting as Bob Sanders), but there were injury issues.
It'd be nice to have a guy as talented as Sanders, but not for only half of each season.

Ditto ... if he's healthy and if he'll accept an incentive based deal, why not kick the tires?

When healthy, doesn't Sanders play the safety position very similar to T.J. Ward?

Yes ... more of an in the box safety IMO.
In 7 seasons of being in the league ... he has only played in 48 games (average of just under 7 per season) ... and has only played more than 6 games in 2 of those seven seasons ...
still ... 13 passes defended, 6 ints, and 290 total tackles with 3.5 sacks ... sounds pretty mediocre but not bad at all IF it were in 48 games as 3 straight and full seasons.
I think he is more of a big play guy than a stats guy from what I have seen. He hits hard he just cant stay healthy .. even at IOWA he was banged up and missed practices and a few games ...

I don't really know, but the times I've seen him playing healthy, he's been a big play, difference-maker type of guy. If he's redundant with Ward then we probably don't need him.

Rams cut Atogwe. He was due an $8 million roster bonus Monday. He had three INT's and 2 sacks for the Rams last year. A pretty solid player. I think I'd rather have him over Bob Sanders (not like we will get either).

How would a DB lineup of look?
CB : Joe Haden CB : Patrick Peterson CB : Sheldon Brown CB : Eric Wright
S : TJ Ward S : Otogwe S : Mike Adams
Sure we would have some big money tied up here, but we could relax here for a few years.

Or you could just bring Elam back at a decent price to go along with the others. (minus a sure to be very expensive Otogwe) Then you could let the CB candidates battle it out, you could swing Brown between the 2 positions, and allow him a chance at a role in either spot, and save some money to build up the DL/LB corps that currently have very few players who fit.

Lerner has the $. If he's the right guy, why not? God knows we need a second (veteran) safety!

If a new CBA gets done, we would probably see a Salary Cap put back into place ... I don't know the details officially of course.

Pimped this guy hardcore during the pre-draft and wanted the Browns to draft him so badly. All I heard was that he is too small, too slow blah blah.
LOL, glad we didn't draft him. while he is none of the things I said earlier he sure is injury prone.

Some of the sports announcers here in Houston rally want Sanders and Rodgers.... when I heard it I was wondering what the over/under would be on their total games for the season combined...

Rogers played in almost every game. He just didn't play the whole game. Or practice much. But that could change with new scenery.
Sanders on the other hand plays one or two games then is injured and is either out for the year or most of the year. He was consistently injured and inactive.
Big difference in my mind.

craz...My opinion...Rogers is worse than Sanders in that he is lazy as hell and only works when he feels like it.
In Sanders, at least a team knows the guy is going to put out and not play silly games like Rogers does.
Teams are free to take a chance, but both players have issues and a team would be taking a chance when it comes to getting their money's worth.
Rogers plays games...Sanders has an injury history that wont stop.

Well, with an incentive based contract either guy might be worth the risk for someone. Someone else.

Considering a player whom is a UFA needs 6 accrued seasons.
That would leave (all) off your list.

At the time I was not married to Erie "Joice" but I'm guessing Biietnikoff should be on that list,....
And I believe Mark Stepnoski has a Super Bowl ring ?
I am not aware of any others,....where did Sanders go to high school ? I wanted to say McDowell,....but I guess he graduated from Prep.

Yeah he went to Prep from his sophomore season on .. part of the Prep team that went to PA states in 99 and lost 13-14 ... they played in a fairly easy conference (not a lot of competition in Erie because all the "city" talent went to prep) .. but they were more or less unstoppable that year. had 96 scored on them including playoff games in 14 games and scored 610 ..

Link Jimmy Graham made Shockey expendable. He is still a pretty productive player when healthy. But there is no chance we even look at him with Watson under contract.

Perhaps... it may depend on Evan Moore.
A combination of Watson and Shockey in a WCO would be a nightmare for any opposing LB corps.

If we picked up Jeremy Shockey, I would have a new Corey Fuller. I would consider upgrading my seats just so I could throw things at Shockey. Just can't stand him, and I don't necessarily have a good reason.
