I wouldn't have a problem with that, but who else could we get to play CB or would we go with holly and bodden (not the best but servicable)?
Phillip Buchanon seems to have rebounded last year and might be a cheaper option if Tampa doesn't bring him back. I'm sure somebody will disagree though.

PFT is not garbage. Diam can bellow all he wants, but that site if more often right than not. It never says something is a fact when it isn't. Notice what the last line said...that he didn't know but had a hunch. Unlike some folks the guy who runs it just says what he thinks and hears, but doesn't EVER pass of rumors as fact. But hey believe what you want. However, if you don't like the site cause the owner/writer is a steelers fan well I can totally understand that.

Bucs re-sign former Lehigh, UM star Buchanon
Daily News staff
Friday, March 2, 2007
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have signed CB Phillip Buchanon. Terms were not disclosed.
Buchanon, who originally joined the Buccaneers as a free agent on October 17, 2006, has played in 60 career games with 38 starts since entering the league as a first-round pick (17th overall) by the Oakland Raiders in the 2002 NFL Draft. He played at Lehigh Senior High School in Lehigh Acres and also at the University of Miami.
Last season, Buchanon played in 14 games with four starts, including 10 games and four starts with the Buccaneers after beginning the season with the Houston Texans. He totaled 30 tackles, two interceptions, eight passes defensed, one fumble recovery, along with returning 14 punts for 95 yards and five kickoffs for 106 yards as a member of the Buccaneers and Texans. He was released by the Texans on October 16, 2006. Buchanon played three seasons (2002-04) with the Raiders before being traded to Houston in exchange for a second and third-round pick in 2005.
In his career, Buchanon has totaled 187 tackles, 13 interceptions, 36 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He has also returned 98 career punts for 986 yards and three touchdowns, and seven career kickoff returns for 131 yards. He has totaled seven career touchdowns, four interception returns and three punt returns.

11:30 am...PFT came at 11:00 am
"Clements reps say that there is no deal in place with the 49ers, or any team for that matter, and that no deal is imminent. His office called the reports "false and very untrue".

That's just from 11:00 am, that could be wrong!! Is John Clayton a jerk or is what he says true about the 49ers and Clements being very very close!?

Take heart... Clayton is better at reporting final deals than he is at digging up scoop (he's wrong more often than he is right). Didn't someone read that Clements is due in Cleveland sometime this evening? If THAT's true, then I have to believe that Nate is getting an idea what he's worth before he comes home to negotiate. That's my story and I'm going to stick with it until it's reported he's signed elswhere!

I'm glad we have solid heads on this board. I'm starting to lose it, so the more people who can calm me down with statements like that, the better. I hope he's just feeling everything out seeing what he can get from whom, so therefore I hope Cleveland just blows his socks off, along with Steinbach, we get Clements and Steinbach, and I'm relieved until draft day.

Do we even know if Clements is coming to Cleveland to discuss a deal?

Haha, well... I can't help it, I'm typing up a freaking storm here, someone stop me! Just kidding, I'm nervous, not gonna lie, but when you hear from more than one source that the 9ers are "close" you start to rethink what you do and don't know. It's all starting to make sense now, it's not like Clements would sign with the first team he met with.
Keep the level head, cause I won't.

DON'T BELIEVE THIS BULL [censored] FOLKS...
According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, free agent Nate Clements has been signed or will soon sign with the San Francisco 49ers. The report comes from Thomas Sorrell, a writer for RealFootball365.
Email from Geoff Hobson: Clements is gone to san fran for $23 M to sign - a deal the Bengals could have done if they cut the few guys who do play defense.

So much for the post which stated that his family members stated Clements was 90% signed here. A bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush!

It was deleted because rumors are not allowed, and articles from the rumor mill are not allowed. Please refrain from linking there again.

I have a hunch it was deleted because it came from a rumor mill site. It's all over the sports networks so I'm sure a decent link will be here shortly.

Dude, you need to stop acting like an ass. I seem to recall you've pulled this crap before on the other board and in other forums.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
But, how the hell was I supposed to know your aunt passed away 4 days ago?
Besides, it wasn't about your aunt.....it was about YOU using a relative/friend/friend of a friend/etc (like a lot of people do)
Stop turning this into something it is not......like you usually do.

You have recalled incorrectly.
I just called him out for using his aunt as a source. MANY other people on this board have done the same as me.
I don't recall you bitching at them

Maybe I haven't seen it, but I did see your post.
He can't get bent because he didn't tell anyone his aunt died. That's not right either, but as much as I've gotten onto posters, I haven't out-and-out called anyone a "chump." (I left those days on the other board *L*)

Another good point. The "Chump" part was supposed to be a joke. I thought the would have made it obvious.
