he's a breath of fresh air after everything that we cleveland fans have had to deal with over the last 12 months.

and he's an awesome player. i believe he's gonna be in a few pro bowls down the line somewhere.

excellent pick by tom h. and mike h.

i think that's really everything you can hope for out of a 1st round guy, a guy you are going to pay quite a bit of money and make one of the faces of your organization. skilled, classy, someone who gets it.

Kemba Walker, as you noted, isn't thought of as a top10 pick right now. That could change if he puts UConn on his back for a deep tourney run and he gets more comparisons to Dwayne Wade, but I don't think he's "thick" enough to take the abuse in the NBA and think he'll be more like a Rip Hamilton. A nice enough player, but not one you take that high.

Just watched the Uconn/SDSU game, and Walker looks like the real-deal. He does remind me a lot of DWade, although he did have a couple of turn-overs.

I don't get the hype of Kawhi Leonard though. Everytime I've seen him play he doesn't look like an elite NBA player. He looks undersized, and isn't killing anyone with his dribble. He never could defend guys like Jimmer or Walker either. At no point during the game are you thinking, "Oh no, Leonard has the ball ... here come the points!" ... As I watched the UConn/SDSU game ... you would get that vibe with Walker, not with Leonard.

if he were a few inches taller, and had more weight he could be a star. I think he will have a hard time taking the pounding in the nba. On the other hand wade has the body to take the beating year in and year out. I think Walker could be a better version of Jameer Nelson or even someone like Mo Williams. On a bad team he could give you 20-22 a night, on a good one 15-18. I would take derrick williams if I had the first pick. Definitely the best player I've seen all year. Plus his upside is through the roof.

This is the year we gotta get this right...

Any combination of

Williams/Walker
Irving/Williams
Barnes/Walker

And the 3rd piece comes from Jamison's expiring...2012

Then comes the 2012 draft and Davis's expiring...

That should be 5 solid players and then some...Adding to Hickson and "V"...

that's kinda why i said to not judge this draft until at least the tournament is over. that williams guy looks like the real deal.

i'm with candy. a dream scenario would be irving/williams. you get your point guard and his go to guy. you combine some of the other pieces that we have plus jamison who becomes tradeable this summer, and you're close to being a solid team again.

not to mention the possibility of getting another lottery pick either this year or next year with taking on rip hamilton, which we have heard could happen.

i seriously can't wait for the lottery night. it's gonna be crazy if you are a cavs fan. you have 2 tickets with unbelievable odds in your hand. the clippers i believe would have the 7th or 8 best chance if the season were over now. and i like the clippers i like blake but i root for them to lose nightly.

you are correct. Kemba is a scorer, Kawhi is more an all-around player but not a scorer specifically.

it's possible that Kemba translates his game to the NBA. there are quite a few scoring PGs who have made success. but, he has a bunch of severe disadvantages he is going to have to overcome. he's small and those windows he creates for his shot aren't going to be nearly as big in the NBA. how is he going to play defense?

can he overcome those? yeah, possibly. but, they are big enough ?s that I wouldn't take him in the top10. especially for a team with a bunch of undersized SGs already (which is how I view Kemba).

Kawhi was disappointing last night, no doubt. He didn't have his normal stat-line and perhaps he was exposed going against a better talent base that UConn has. Hard to tell from one night. However, going into it, he has always been a great defender (though I was interested to see how he could handle Kemba and obviously he wasn't quick enough), good rebounder, good shot. I would still have him above Kemba on my draft board, but last night raised a few red flags for sure.

There's still talk of us revisiting the Rip Hamilton/1st rounder for our trade exception deal with the Pistons after the season. Could have 3 lottery picks.

I like Irving, but I think I would take Williams if we get the first pick.

I didn't realize he was 6'0. He looked exactly like DWade in the game last night ... maybe San Diego State is also undersized and it made him look bigger.

I've seen Kawhi a few times this year and he's always looked underwhelming. Maybe it's just because I usually catch SDSU games when they lose, but there's no aspect of the game that he's really dominating in. If he's a jack of all trades, master of none at the college level, how's that going to play out in the pros? He also seems a little undersized for a SF, I look at him and don't see a "body" of a pro.

He's looked like DWade for the last month.

For me, plan A, B, and C is Derrick Williams and Kemba Walker.

Kyrie played well, but not great. He seemed like he was trying to fit in too much rather than just take over the controls. especially when the game started slipping away in the 2nd.

I've noted my reasons against Kemba, but it's not like it would be the worst situation.

now, if we get 3 lottery picks by picking up the Pistons pick for taking on Rip, then I wouldn't mind Kemba at all. it'd be the end of the road for Sessions (Kemba would become our 6th man scoring option instead of him), but putting Kemba as our Jason Terry wouldn't be a terrible idea if he was our 3rd pick (finally remembered who he reminded me of in the NBA)

It was around on a couple sites right after the trade deadline ... Here's the most reputable one I could find:

Reghi & Roda bring it up a lot on WKNR. Not sure if they have any sources or if they just think it will be revisited around draft time since we can use the trade exception from the end of the season till sometime in early July. I'm not sure of the exact date, but it's good for 1 year from when we got it from Miami.

Cavs Hall of Fame announcer Tait to return Sunday

CLEVELAND (AP)—Joe Tait, the Cavaliers’ Hall of Fame radio play-by-play broadcaster, will work his first game of the season Sunday when Cleveland takes on Atlanta.

Tait has yet to call a game this season after having double bypass surgery and an aortic valve replaced in January. He was hospitalized in November with a blood clot in his lung and his heart surgery was postponed so he could get stronger.

Tait, 73, was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame last summer. He said before the season that he planned to retire in April. He will broadcast Cleveland’s five remaining home games.

Tait has been the Cavaliers’ radio announcer for all but two years since the team entered the NBA as an expansion franchise in 1970.

I hope the ratings on WTAM and the Cavs Radio Network on Sunday are through the roof - and I'm glad Joe gets a tune up game in time for Miami coming to town.

Snyder and Chones did fine all season - but it's gonna be great to hear Joe for these remaining home games

Mr. Tait sounds glorious, as a play-by-play nut I feel like a kid at Christmas... here's hoping the voice holds up for the game tonight and he can ride off at the end of this home season

Anyone going to watch LeBron's second return to Cleveland tonight?

Hopefully fans in attendance treat this as another game and don't give LeBron any attention.

Hopefully the team, unlike the first meeting, does show up and gives this game some attention.

I expect the Cavs to get blown out....BADLY. The Heat have been playing very well lately.

I would like to see the Cavs not let lebron have anything for free tonight. Foul him hard on every play. Get under his skin and hope he snaps. But that won't happen, they players will be giving him hugs, joking, and living it up right in everyone's face. Sick.

The one thing I hope we get in our 4 picks in the upcoming draft is an enforcer type. I want a guy who is not afraid to step up and take a charge, or deliver a solid shot when necessary.

I wish we had a guy like that we could put on James just so he could get knocked on his ass really hard 5 times in this game. I mean really hard. Nothing dirty ...... just destruction instead of "touch fouls".

i'm pretty sure you won't see any of that, it's been talked about too much the last few days. i don't think you'll see cheap shots, but it'll be a business-like approach tonight. i don't think we get blown out, i think (could be wrong) but the cavs have played really tough the last 2 times they played in miami. i think it's the kinda game where baron davis will get up for to. i don't know if we win but i think they keep it close.

i don't really care about hard fouls or any of that, i just wanna see the cavs win, it would be good for the franchise and the fanbase, and would love to see the suits at bspn try and downplay that one.

i think it could put some closure on the issue too. people will never fully get over it, they certainly won't forget it, but at least we can move on. i agree with Rambo, i think the best thing the fans tonight can do is not give the guy any attention. you made yourselves heard last time, be more about the cavs and less about trying to verbally abuse lebron. it doesn't bother him. it certainly didn't last time and that was about as horrible of a reception as i have ever seen an athlete get.

it doesn't work, so stop trying. what would hurt lebron the most is if he were treated like any other player. he obviously thinks he's God's gift to basketball, so why give him more attention? in his eyes, any attention is good attention. he thrives off it, just like he did when he was on the cavs. do we not remember the toronto game 4 or 5 years ago?

i think a win over miami would be a nice way to finish out a year in which we kinda wanted the cavs to stay low. you get the first pick and a win over miami? who wouldn't take that right now.

You mean like Anderson Varejao?

On a side note, I'm not sure too many people will be hugging Lebron tonight as there are only 3 active players on the roster that have actually played with him as a Cav.

Cavs looking good early. My favorite part of the game came before it even started. LeBum and his entourage arrived to the Q in 2 cars, as he used to always do, only LeBum's car was allowed.

Baron Davis with the 3 to end the half. Cavs up by 11!

Let's hope they can continue to play the way they started off. I would love, love, love to see the Cavs knock these %$&^*^$@!$^s off.

They were up by 16, and my brain said "This is where Miami comes back" less then two minutes later they were up by 8...

Then B-Davis shot the lights out!
