I was hoping you'd take peterson (or that 214 would take newton.)

lol, there wasn't a chance of that happening.
I actually had a post all typed out with me picking Dareus, but after getting it all typed out I changed my mind and took Gabbert. Without a choice at the top of the second round I had to take a QB and Gabbert is the only one I thought was worth the top overall.

Clevesteve -
Did you take Watt b/c you think he's the best fit/player or did you make the pick based on what you thought Buffalo would do?

If I was Buffalo my list would be:
1) Dareus 2) Watt 3) Jordan
So, needless to say, if Dareus is gone, I think Buffalo should be desperate to trade down. I would have traded down to as low as 9 for as little as a 3rd, but I got no counter-offers from anybody.
Buffalo fans don't want another 1st-round DB (according to a Bills forum similar to this) and list DE as their biggest need. Some guys on that board would take Newton if Dareus was gone and some would take Miller, but I wouldn't. One guy on their board said they need guys who will get nasty and play fiery. To me, that's Watt more than Jordan. Jordan is more of a jokey, happy-go-lucky guy.

Carimi Mallett Pouncey
Not Ingram and Leshoure

I know the consensus for Jacksonville is D-line but I don't understand why. And I don't pretend to know their team that well but with 4 D-line picks last year I'd like to know why it is still considered a priority.

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

I checked their main MB and they did a bracket style poll and the final was Ponder/Jordan/Amukamara. Prince won but had already been taken, so I went with Jordan.
Aaron Kampman blew out an ACL for the second time in two years. They're thinking Derrick Harvey was a bust and Mincey is still pretty unproven.
So I went with Jordan.

Charger pm'd me his pick so I'll post it tomorrow morning at the opening bell if he doesn't come back on tonight. I think it will ruffle some feathers but I think it's a good pick. I don't think Petey will be on between now and then so it can wait until morning.

I've actually seen Heyward high on alot of mocks recently. I personally wouldn't draft him quite yet, but I can see how some would.
Liuget and Aldon Smith still available among others. Dang this is a deep DL class.

Really? And where is Carimi supposed to play? Over 11+mil$ LT Long or 5+mil$ RT Carey?....makes no sense at all...meanwhile the Dolphins still have no C, G and RB starter for next season....and Henne is their only QB...unless Carimi was drafted to paly G which imho is his best position in the NFL...but that would be poor value even though understandable looking at the alternatives.....but I guess he was taken here as a OT and MIA has 1 oft the Top3 tandems in the entire league playing there

This was very difficult for me. My three options as good fits for the Giants (around the same pick) were Akeem Ayers, Mark Ingram, or Pouncey.
So I went with Ingram because I think he can be really good and will be a good fit for the Giants because he's a tough inside runner (and they'll be playing outside in the weather in NY, Phili, Washington).
Hopefully the Giants can fulfill some of their other desires in the later rounds/FA (whenever that is)

I thought there was talk of the Dolphins putting Carey back at guard, but I see they have already come out and said they want to keep Carey outside. I guess I have to retract my sentiment!

i mainly was happy he didn't take Ingram... I don't like RBs in the first round! Like I posted earlier, only 1 of the top 5 RBs in the NFL last year were chosen before pick 60!

well, that depends. if you think Miami is better off with Carimi at RT and Carey at OG, then it's still a fine pick. if you think they are better with Carey at RT and Pouncey at OG/OC, then they missed.
I don't think Pouncey will be as good as his brother, so I would go Carimi if drafting OL for Miami.
Carey shouldn't complain too much as he is locked into a long-term deal as if he was the RT, so he's getting paid well (and with the NFL and injuries, will get to play plenty of OT in the coming years to keep his value for his next contract)

That's fair. But I feel like Ingram will thrive in NY. I don't like Brandon Jacobs (he's a punk, tough but a punk) and Ahmad Bradshaw is more of a spell back. Ingram can carry the load for a Giants team that likes to run the ball a lot.
They need to do some things with their O-Line, but I'm hoping they can address that later. They also could use a good LB, but I didn't see any that were available besides Akeem Ayers. He went through my head also,
But I really don't like the Giants RBs so I went with Ingram. He's a pretty safe bet IMO. And their O-Line isn't bad, it's just aging.
