He gave up back to back singles, but then got a double play and a strike out.

He did give up one, but the Indians have a 2-1 lead.

Man ... Roberts is hitting everything and anything. He's gone 3-4 today. The rest of the Orioles have 3 hits combined.

This is a huge part of why the Indians are doing well .... even though they didn't score in the 8th, they worked the counts, took pitches, put 2 men on ... and the Orioles pitcher threw 29 pitches in that inning.

Ballgame! Tribe wins again!

Perez gets his 5th save of the year.

The Tribe's 3 main relievers, Sipp, Perez, and Perez have not given up a run this year ..... and Pestano has also not been scored upon.

I'm sure this isn't the case but if anyone still feels bad about the 1-hit loss to Dan Haren....he's tossing a 3-hitter through 6 in Chicago (Angels winning 4-0). The announcers said he's 7-0 in his last 10 outings and has a crazy low ERA over that time too.

Good to see Carmona get a W.

Harren's been incredible since somewhere around the All Star break last year.

KC and Seattle are tied in the 7th.

The Reds have come back to tie the Pirates in the 8th.

I had to laugh at Hafner's swing on his solo shot. He went golfing in a sand trap but was able to chip it into souvenir city.

Can't say as much for these puke uniforms.

Put the damn NAMES on the back already.

And here we go again with the fan attendance...I know the weather sucks right now but there's no excuse for not having 30,000 a night when this team is playing with "Lights-Out" pitching...We'll see what happens come May and beyond...

Pronk's about the only one playing over his head right now...Santana and Choo aren't even close to what they could and will be...

the fans will eventually show up.

i still think as a whole, they don't trust the dolans. for as good as the team looks now, and they look wonderful, they are still one really bad stretch away from seeing fan favorite players dealt away.

maybe it's not the proper way to think. but i can't blame a cleveland indians fan for what they do. it's their money.

but the weather has been bad. cold, rainy, cold and rainy... windy. once may comes around you'll see better crowds.

sizemore looked great yesterday. 2 good swings. but i am still wait and see on him. if he goes back to his usual feast/famine, hit/strikeout self, how can you not put brantley back at the top of that lineup? you can literally throw sizemore anywhere on the card and he'd fit.

Most other clubs in our weather area aren't drawing 30G either. The White Sox only drew 23G yesterday (paid attendance)....and I'd bet 7-8,000 were no-shows. And they've won a WS in 2005, won the division more in recent years, and have a gigantic market.

When the weather warms up we can start complaining about a lack of support.....not now. Heck, it snowed about an inch last night here. I know I wouldn't be thinking about attending a baseball game with snow on the ground.

Yesterday was like 45 degrees, with a 30 MPH wind. There were probably tons of frostbitten people in the stands.

As you said, if we keep this up and there aren't 20,000- 25,000 butts in the seats when it warms up I'll be stunned. We do have to keep in mind that the economy isn't helping anyone ... especially buying tickets to sproting events.

I always thought the baseball season started too soon, I really think it should start in May at the earliest, Finish by Sept. I hate baseball in November, it doesnt make sense. I think 100 games is more than enough.

LOL I know that, but for a guy, like me, that doesn't follow baseball like some of you guys, its helpful to have the name on the back of the jersey. I don't watch many games, never really did even when they were hotter then hell in the 90's (I did actually attend a couple of the World Series games, we had company seats).

So for me, a casual fan, it's helpful.

Huh? Sizemore has a career OBP of .363. That's pretty good. And at one point in his career, his last fully healthy season, he stole 38 bases. That's also pretty good.

Seems to me he is a very good leadoff hitter. Gets on base and then can move himself up.

I wouldn't expect Sizemore to be testing his knee by stealing a bunch of bases this season. At least not intially.

then again, if he keeps hitting HRs and Doubles, he won't have to

Jobs and money in general aside, the gas prices will surely hurt MLB as a whole this summer as well.

If I have to pay 4-5$ a gallon... which seems inevitable, then everything gets re-thought. 60-70$ a tank for my Mustang is going to cut my trips a LOT, doesn't matter how cheap tickets are in Cleveland or Pittsburgh or anywhere.

Im wit ya. Last year I was filling the tank on my lil Corolla on Saturday nights before driving up to Cleveland for Sunday's game and it was costing me 23.00 and some change. Yesterday, the same tank cost me 33.00 and some change.

And that's a max of what 12 times? Imagine being some dude with season tickets for 81 games and then playoffs in baseball who drives in from Warren, Austintown, Canton etc.. It might be cheaper to get a crap apartment somewhere downtown, lol.

I know I'll probably get to 2-3 Pirate games this year, but unless they turn into a team of destiny that'll be it. I'm already paying out the wazz for cable, I don't need to compound that with a tank of gas before even spending money on anything ballpark related.

I'd imagine it'll be the same situation for a lot of Indians fans too.

It was also a lot different in the days when you got in for less than you paid for gas,....now they are BOTH exorbinant and the tickets would probably cost more than the gas,....

Like Saint, I would be coming in from Columbus.

The Wife is going on a business trip Wednesday that includes a stop to see the Reds, where she'll freeze her behind at a nite game, so there won't even be a honeymoon getaway trip's chance this year for the Tribe,....

I'm pretty sure they still have $7 tickets and you can bring in your own food. Pretty cheap IMO. Gas, not so much.
