Ok....tonight we have the Ning v the Bruins. I'm rooitng for the Ning but also want to see a good series. I don't think we'll have that if the Bruins lose again at home (but, they did the same thing with Montreal in the first round).
Anyway, the O/U is 5.5 for tonight's game. I say under (3-2 Bruins win).
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”
the bruins have 2 power play goals in the entire playoffs, that's downright embarassing and it's a miracle they are still playing with that. you have to cash in on your advantages.
i think tampa wins again. i think they take the series 4-1.
st. joe and vanny is going 7 though, at least i hope it does because that would be awesome, it would be one of the most intense game 7's in history.
It was 3-2, Nucks with the lead in the 3rd period and the Sharks had a breakaway chance, RL stoned him. Within a minute the Nucks scored their 4th goal and then the wheels fell off.
I'm still rooting for the Sharks but they have looked outclassed in both games. I don't see them winning a game in the series now.
At least we have a decent series in the East.
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”
i know tampa lost, but i think they set themselves up with the way they played in the last period of that game. they nearly came back to tie it up after being down multiple goals. those guys have too much firepower to go away.
and lolz @ ben eager, hey dude. you celebrated a goal like you won the cup, and you were still down 4. put your head down and skate back to the bench.
Eager was a healthy scratch...you think that was for the penalties or his bogus celebration on the non-important goal? Or Both?
Either way San Jose didn't need him. Well maybe they did. They were up 4-1 in the 3rd and then gave up two goals....and had to sweat out the last 4 minutes. They aren't winning this series. They had the lead in the 3rd of Game 1, they blew it. They had the chance to tie the game in the 4rd in Game 2, blew that and got blown out. And they almost choked away a 3-goal lead at home.

could have been for that, but not likely, probably just for the penalties. I'm not a big Eager fan (even last year) and what he did the other night didn't help me like him any more. Even if he Mclellan did, it's not like Eager is some stud 1st liner or anything.
Seems like the sharks need a kick in the rear end to get them going, they don't have a killer instinct. It will eventually be the end of them.
And wow, boston had a 3 goal lead looking at possibly going up 3-1 in the series, and tampa came in like the fat kid on the playground and ripped it away. lol
Sharks are dead. I would be surprised if they only lose by two in the next game. Good for the Nucks though. I think having a Canadian team in the Cup Finals will add more excitement.
Game 5 tonight for Boston/Tampa. I think the Ning have the edge and captain Mo. Even with that being said, I think we're going 7 games, hopefully.

I would love to see a Vancouver/Tampa match up, I think it'd be one of the biggest LOL's in the history of hockey.
One one side you have vancouver, the president's trophy winner, with the weight of not only vancouver (never won the cup) but all of canada (not since '93) on their shoulders.
On the other side, you have a bunch of guys with literally no pressure on them. It's tampa, they don't really care all that much, they won it 7 years ago, however they are one of the most talented teams in the league.
It would be unbelievable theatre. I know it's not a sexy ratings draw (Which i hate when national talking heads whine about matchups) but the talent on the ice will be primo. I'll sign up for that series right now.
Vancouver is looking too good right now, and although anything can happen, I said it during Game 2 - "we're probably looking at the Cup champions for 2011".
Finally beating the Blackhawks got them over a huge psychological hump, even if (or maybe partly because) they almost blew a 3-0 series lead..
i thought beating the blackhawks woulda been a negative for them, like maybe they accomplished something, so there would be a letdown next round, maybe it helped that they didn't face a huge offensive threat in nashville, but nonetheless they look great. their defense in the defensive and neutral zone is the best that's left right now.
The tampa game the other day was a fun watch, tampa goes down 3, they come right back with 4 goals. when they are clicking, they are really fun to watch.
Martin St. Louis is a fun player to watch, I've always thought highly of Vinnie Lecavalier, too. But I've had a soft spot for the Bruins as an Original Six team, and plus I was always rooting for them back in the 70s and 80s when they played the Habs, when I really hated Montreal. Loved the old Boston Garden with the small ice surface and the stands almost on top of the ice. Now their building looks like every other NHL rink.
I'm not a complete Vancouver hater like a lot of people around here are, but I am not particularly fond of that team either.
But, hey congrats. They earned it last night. That was no choke job by San Jose either, the Canucks were just a flat out better team and they proved it all year.
I do think they will be heavily favored over whoever comes out of the Eastern conference. The way they have played in their defensive zone, and how they have owned the neutral zone, I don't know if Boston has anything to offer or if Tampa has anything outside of that Lecavalier line. You need at least 2 really really good lines to beat the Canucks with the way they are playing. The Hawks do and almost pulled it off.
"Meh" on the Canucks. I watched Vancouver-ites celebrate last night - I hate the city of Vancouver because I never found British Columbians very friendly - and suddenly realized it wouldn't bother me if the Bruins beat them. I'd probably root for Vancouver over TB, but not Boston. Fluky OT goal last night, really bizarre... although the Canucks deserved to win the series.
Ouch! Thosee poor Sharks. I would have liked to see them play the nucks without having been a couple days off of a gruelling 7 game series. They were whipped and couldn't sustain any momentum.

Woohoo, time for game 7. I haven't been able to watch much of this series at all unfortunately but I had the first hour of the last game and the first hour of this game too, then it's just sporadic check ins.
I still remember being at Game 7 of the finals when the Lightning won it. I was in the last row, but it was incredible! GO BOLTS!!!!
Go Bruins! I don't know if they'll be able to handle everything Vancouver can throw at them, but I'll root for the Original Six team I guess, although Vancouver winning would not break my heart. Tim Thomas is gonna have to be very solid in nets, for Boston to have a chance. Jeez, Game 1 of the final is Wednesday (June 2 ) which IMO is too late to be playing hockey.... but, whatever.
Quote: You would have never convinced me we'd get shut out in Game 7 of the ECF
Oh well, time for baseball, I guess.
What do you mean? There's still a Stanley Cup Final to watch! I don't particularly care or either team, but it should be a good matchup. Both teams ground it out and got it done in the playoffs. The atmosphere of the SCF is second to none in all of sports IMO. I'm pulling for the original 6 team. I think Lucic and Chara can take the Sedins and Kesler off their game. Thomas has to come up big.
