Finals have never had game 7 go into OT right? With the way the games in Vancouver have gone, you could see it tomorrow night. I hate that I have a game. I'm gonna dvr it and go with the headphones and loud music in the locker room.

Something for the hockey enthusiasts... (It's actually pretty interesting and funny for all sports fans.. )

Hockey injuries vs Baseball injuries

I knew it had happened before because I researched Game 7s a couple years ago. I just googled it now and the 1954 Red Wings won Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final on an overtime goal by some guy named Tony Leswick. They beat Montreal.

This game is just 10 minutes old and already it's a beauty.
The intensity is in the air, I can feel it just watching it on TV.
The national anthems were awesome, BTW.
Game 7, folks!

congrats to boston. vancouver? yikes. the play on the ice by the canucks was ugly, what happened outside on the streets was even uglier.

could not be happier for tim thomas. what a class guy. he's an unbelievable story.

i watched the first 2 periods and skipped through most of the 3rd. Once Vancouver let up the first goal they stopped skating. It rattled them big time.

As much as Luongo takes, that game was not all on him. The second goal was 100% his fault but the other ones not so much.

The only thing that sucks is now we gotta hear about how great the boston sports scene is. Similiar to the Blackhawks, nobody gave a crap about the Bruins before this year.

For the NHL though, 2 of the league's original six won titles after long droughts, so you have re-energized the league with some of the big markets (i hate saying that but the nhl truly needs it)

The fans who rioted are freakin' idiots, just causing damage and stirring up crap for kicks and grins. Embarrassing.

Yeah sperg I feel good for Tim Thomas, not even in the league til he was in his 30s, now he's 37 years old and he'll get his name on the Stanley Cup. Seems like a good guy and is what Luongo is not: composed under fire, which a good goalie has to be.

Can'r wait til October, I have high hopes for the Leafs, young and talented so should be a very good team next season. I hope.

All I wanted was a good Game 7 to watch. And it wasn't just for me, the wife sat down and wanted to watch too. So I was thinking how great it would be to open up a brewski or two, watch a great close Game 7, and maybe overtime. Boooooo.....like you said Sperg, once Boston scored the first goal it was over. Get shutout 4-0 at HOME in a Game 7? Awful.

Oh well, good postseason overall. We get baseball from here on out until football starts.

The first period was awesome, you could sense the desperation with both teams, thomas made a bunch of big saves, boston got that fluky-ish goal and it was pretty much vancouver chasing and killing themselves the rest of the way.

That's the thing about hockey, you can't chase. It's like when you're gambling, you lose your first bet, and you keep betting hard trying to make up for it. Vancouver sensed that they had to get that goal to make it 1-1 IMMEDIATELY. Not the case. It was early, there was no need to start changing your philosophy and attitude towards the game.

Vancouver was the better team, Boston was the tougher team both mentally and physically.

I was thinking today, this Bruins team is the reason why hockey WOULD work in Cleveland. That team isn't flash at all. They were gritty, tough, selfless. Their goalie has been the best goalie all year but most would not put him in a class with guys like Miller, Rinne, etc. Chara is the only real "super" star on that team and most don't consider him with the marketable guys like Crosby, Ovechkin, etc, because he doesn't score goals, he just shuts down half the ice.

The NHL playoffs are about survival, and we definitely saw that with Boston. You can't not be tough and go through what they did. Remember these guys in round one had to go to Montreal down 0-2. They had to face a team that humiliated them last year coming back from down 3 games to none, and they had to deal with a talented Tampa team in a series that went 7. Unreal.

On the bright side, Vancouver only has 11 more years to deal with Luongo

I hope the Lightning can add a couple more pieces. We have an awesome core with LeCavalier, St. Louis, and Stamkos. Need to add a piece or two.

Also, Roli will be 42 when the season starts, so that's a position we have to look into addressing, soon.
