http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6384774I know some of the luster my be gone with the looming uncertainty, but it is still exciting for me. By 10PM tonight I will have dates on the calendar circled...be it in pencil.

I love NFL football, but, I gotta say that I can't get all excited about the release of the official schedule. We've known, for a long time now, WHO we're going to play. All this tells us is WHEN we play. Woo Hoo! I could understand getting a bit excited about this if I were like Peen and had to make travel plans. However, watching the NFL Channel get all jazzed up about the schedule (as if it were some GRAND announcement) is pretty funny to me.

The extra game seasons would probably not start for another year.. so it's no biggie.

I don't see it as any less important then any other year, but I suppose that is because I believe the season will be played.
If this was July and camp was supposed to open in a few days, then sure, I will be a bit bummed.
To me it's real important how the schedule unfolds.
Do we get a decent bye week somewhere near the middle or do we get a early or late draw, which I somehow see as a disadvantage.
Do we get shafted and walk in to division games on the road after they come off their bye??
Do we look to have a fairly even draw of tough and slightly easier opponents or do we have stretch that looks to be brutal??
Do we have a home night game??
Are we going to be stuck with a bunch of home Holiday games like last year...which sucks IMO.
And from a personal point of view....is there a nice spacing between home games or like last year, are there going to be a bunch of games I want to see played in back to back weeks??
I don't mind that every now and then, but it seemed like last year it was back to back travel a couple of times...it gets kind of grueling to drive back and forth on consecutive weeks.
For me the ideal is one game a month in Sept, Oct.,Nov., and Dec. Then pick up 1 extra game in one month for sure, and possibly a 6th in another month.
Oh....I am planning on going to Indy for that game, so my hope it is late in the season since they play indoors.

I think the season will be played too, but I think it'll be a 10game season (I think September will finally get the pressure for resolution, then a short training camp/couple preseason games).
So, if it's a 10 or 12 game season, which games get cut? I would assume that they would cut the non-conference games out, but then they would need to completely redo this schedule, which is why I can't get too excited about it today.

Great time for predictions with 3 hours until we all find out!
I predict the Dallas Cowboy's will get a very favorable schedule, ( no 3 game road trips ) no september games in Miami, or December at Green bay types
Because they always do for the last MILLION years!
I predict the schedule will not in any way benefit the Cleveland Browns, in fact it will probably include whatever possible to the detriment of the Browns
Because the league Hates Us!
as long as its predictions, the bears still suck, the bengals are still laughable Bengal fans are gonna tell you they are going to the superbowl, (TONIGHT) because they're stupid and delusional
The stillers still cheat, ( I wish they did) and Roethlisburger still has never won a game with his arm, and won't this year
as for the schedule, hope for the best, ...( alot of home games at the end) a bye before the pittsburgh home game, ... Ravens at Cleveland for the home opener , stuff like that
But we all know, it won't happen because the league hates CLEVELAND, and is run by the Cowboy's
and the Cowboy's still suck also, ( just stick with Tony Romo, give him more time ) so you can continue to suck
I hate the cowboys I hate denver more! Denver is BAD, remember these times , hopefully they continue to be bad. Bronco's are another team that will have a favorable schedule just watch
teames with favorable schedules, I predict Cowboys, San Francisco, Broncos, Jets, and Redskins
another prediction, almost all the national tv games will go to east coast loser teams like philadelphia, washington, new englane, ny jets, and ny giants
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Ok, let's take a look at 2010
September game in Houston (not sure if they closed the roof or left it open. Home team decides that one but they could have left it open if they felt it gave them an advantage).
No 3 game road stretches.
January game in Philly had to be a bit cold (though the December games were in Indy, Dallas and Arizona)
------------------------ 2009
September game in TB
no 3 game road stretches
December games in NY (Giants) and Washington
So, no 3 game road stretches the last 2 years (not like those are common anyways), but definitely some 'warm' weather September games and cold weather December/January games

Is that post for real?
The schedule is built using the same formula every year. And having three road games means you have to have a long strech of home games too. Please, save us with the conspiracy theories.
You have to play 16 games regardless. Good teams win, bad teams lose. No excuses. There are no favorable schedules, Sure, playing the NFC West would look good on paper, but that was last year and it was planned forever ago. It's not a conspiracy if every team roates the same schedule.
Five east coast loser teams? Three of them made the playoffs last year.

Do we open on the road or at home?
I think we're at home week 1.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

I just want to know when the Browns are going to Arizona and San Francisco. Two games within driving distance that I can actually go to (I don't count Oakland as a game I can go to).

My guess is the Seattle game will be a 4PM start since they are a WC team...thats a given.
I hope we get at least 1 more.
I like 4PM games...makes for a nice tailgate.
I think we will get a Sunday night game. At least to me, people watch the SNF game no matter who is playing since they are in the football watching mode and still in weekend mode.
Mondays??? That first day back at work might convince you to skip the game and catch a few extra winks that night.
Home or away...who knows??

It appears the NFL thinks we'll lose 4-8 games of this upcoming season due to a lockout. Why else would 5 of our divisional games be in the last 6 weeks? I've only seen our schedule, so maybe other divisions play most of their game in the beginning....but I doubt it. I thought the NFL would backload the divisional games.
