Same answer holds for him as for us... he should have called a cab.
Limo? I think we have a bent perspective on the wealthy. Yes, he could probably afford to have a limo on call 24x7, but seriously, unless your last name is Trump, who the hell lives like that (or would want to)? That's just nuts.... but yes, he should have called a cab.
If I'm not mistaken, most if not all NFL teams provide free transportation to the players - all it takes is a call and they also send someone to take your car... I'm not certain that all MLB or NBA teams have the same policy but I'm sure that transportation will be provided if needed. Not saying they get a limo, but a free ride is a free ride - especially when you're that ignorant drunk.
These players in any sport are ridiculously ignorant for getting busted on an alchohol offense and in my opinion need to be punished more harshly than "Joe or Mary NoName". No one should drive drunk - but no one should ever have an excuse to drive drunk if a free ride home is at their beckon call 24/7.

I'd say that your opinion is terrible. They didn't commit any different of a crime than Joe and Mary, financial means has no bearing whatsoever... or if it does, does this now mean that you can't get a DUI if you're on Welfare?

Wow. 2 really strange choppers off home plate put runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. I hate Oakland. It's always bizarre and bad stuff happening there.

I've been trying to pay attention tonight as I finally have it on TV but it looks like Fausto might be off to a rough start.

Fausto cruised through the 1st 3 ..... then gave up a hit ... then back to back choppers off home plate, one that barely got down .. and the other than advanced the runners ..... then he gave up a dribbler to third that scored a runner ... then a walk .... now 2-2 on the hitter .....
It seems like those choppers ate him up a little. I'm sure he feels that he's pitched well enough to not have given up a run at all, and to be out of the inning. Nothing anyone could do .... just more weird stuff in Oakland.

Yeah, he got out of that jam pretty well. I liked the leadership that Santana showed on where to throw that ball. Don't be a hero and get the sure out.
I had a chance to watch all of the game on Sunday. I truly believe we are on to something special here.

Wow. Just heard that the Indians AAA team in Columbus has a 13 game winning streak (and are now 21-5) .... to go along with the Cleveland Indians winning streak.
That's impressive.

I just watched the replay of Francisco Liriano's no-hitter. Great game. And it sure is nice to see the White Sox drop to 10.5 games back.

Listening to the game last night, they said that only 3 times in the history of baseball has a team won a division after being down 10 or more games at any point. That would not bode well for the Chi Sox or the Twinkees. It's kinda funny, but after talking up the Royals, people have started talking them down after we took 5 of 7 from them .... but not counting them playing us, they are 14-8 .... which is pretty damn impressive in its own right. Their pitching has been called into question, but again, they gave up 57 runs to the Indians in 7 games ..... and they have given up 85 runs to everyone else in 22 games. That's roughly a 3.8 ERA against everyone not in an Indians uniform. That's not bad either. You know what my favorite Indians stat this year is? Through 28 games, the Indians have allowed 96 Earned Runs ..... and only 4 Unearned Runs. That's amazing considering that last year was a debacle in that area. Last year we gave up 68 Unearned Runs for the season. Last year, for the entire season, we had 74 quality starts. This year, in only 28 games, we already have 21 quality starts. What an amazing difference. The pitchers this year can pitch and be confident that the defense behind them will make the plays they should. Also, year 2 of Tim Belcher seems to have sunk in across the board. I'm lovin' this year so far. I have a feeling there is something special brewing. last night's game was one they would have managed to lose last year.

i can't believe how bad they are. i wasn't buyin the hype that they were the best team in the league coming in, but there was no doubt that with their lineup, they would be right in the mix. even with peavy out their pitching is pretty good too. guess things on paper aren't always the same things you see out in the field. same goes for the tribe too. who'd have thought they'd be this good?
i kinda figured since we're 2-3 years removed from the cc, lee, victor, casey moves, that some of the young guys we got back would start to come around and i figured 2012 would be the target year for contending. i had no idea that the pitching would be as good. i kinda figured we'd maybe hang around because of the young bats + solid bullpen (i think we all kinda knew they'd be good based on the second half of last year)
i still think if the tribe become buyers near the deadline that they should go after a pitcher.

I don't think that I'd be all that anxious to go buy a pitcher just for the sake of buying one.
I mean, if Oakland decided that they wanted to trade us Dan Harren ..... then sure. But the Indians have 6 or 7 legitimate starters .... and a stacked bullpen. I would hate to blow up team chemistry just to add a questionable arm.
What kind of pitcher would you want to see them go after?

Going back to Choo incident....Knowing the area quite well where he got popped, I can tell you the guy was lost. Sheffield village has nothing going on but speed traps and DUI arrests. That's how they make their money in that village.
The arresting officer was in a particular Avon Lake bar where my GF works and was telling some folks he was next to how they tried a few times to let him off after they knew who he was but things didn't work out because he was a bit to far gone.

Not sure who I think they would go after, but it would have to be a lefty. Carmona, Carrasco, Masterson, Tomlin, Talbot, Gomez & White are all righties.
And Haren's an Angel. He used to be on the A's.
Joe Thomas made Justin Timberlake change his name. He didn't want wusses to have the same initials...

I love how bad the White Sox are this year.
I hate the White Sox as much as any team not named the Yankees. I fully bought into the Chicago vs. Cleveland rivalry of the early 90's and they are always the first team I want to see us beat in the division. And, this is such an easy ChiSox team to hate too.
Anyways, great win. I thought that last night had to be a game we would lose since we have been winning so many of those close late games. Silly me. This team is ridiculously clutch.

Cahill tonight - he's one of my favorite non-Indian players, so I watch most of his games. He's been great this year, but he does have a fatal-flaw. He is too much of a perfectionist, and if a team is patient, he can rack up his pitch count very quickly. I would be telling the team to take a couple pitches tonight and try to get him chased by the 5th or 6th inning (Oakland is very careful with their pitch counts).

i agree with brad, a left handed starter. don't go and just get a guy to get a guy, but look for a good deal for the right guy. someone proven.
i know it's way down the line, and it's still early, but as a team you would have to start thinking about the what-ifs, and if i am chris antonetti, i like what i have seen out of a pitching staff, but i think should they get to a playoff series (like i said, what-if) i think they would be better suited if they had a really good left handed starter. masterson is becoming an ace. it's clear. carmona has shown some inconsistency, do you bank on him being good in the playoffs? he's done it before. although i would like my chances if he was matched up against another team's 3.

Yeah, a lefty would be nice ..... but I'd rather just have high quality pitchers. It seems like some teams add a lefty starter just to have a lefty ... and the guy has 6 wins and a 4.80 - 5.00 ERA or some crap. That doesn't really help the team. Our bullpen has been able to get out both right and left handed hitters ..... so a lefty there wouldn't help much. If we can add a premiere player, position or pitcher, then I'd look at it ..... but I wouldn't want to give up our future at Columbus just for the sake of adding a guy. After all .... Columbus has a longer winning streak and record that the Indians do. lol They've done that despite losing 2 of their top starters to the parent club. Oh ... and yeah, I don't kow what I was thinking .... we faced Haren in Anaheim earlier this year.

I'd like a good match-up lefty for the bullpen - someone like Paul Assenmacher. I just don't have a lot of confidence in Tony Sipp and Rafael Perez in the clutch.

I wouldn't go after someone proven unless they were still in their 20s and that would come with a hefty price tag.
I would do what NBA-GMs call a 'redraft strategy'. Go after young guys for their 2nd contract (or in MLB-terms, their arbitration contracts).
That is, target young pitchers who have shown flashes and have the numbers you are looking for (GB% with our IF defense for instance) but have been inconsistent enough that their teams could consider trading them at a bit of a discount.

Great stat! Thanks. Defense is the most underrated part of the game, but can swing a few games a year.
And sometimes, a few games is all it takes.

The Tribe is playing well -- you combine that with Chicago and Minnesota tanking, wiping out Kansas City, and it is what it is.
Indians just have to keep after it.

Well, Minne just beat the Sox again today. So, while the Sox are going down, the Twins are coming up.
Interesting thing to watch for the Sox, they're next 20 of 26 are on the road. That's not a good thing for a struggling team in last place. They could be 20+ out by the end of May if the Indians keep this pace (or near it).

I love that the AL Central has the worst, 2nd worst, and 6th worst teams in MLB right now (and Tigers are 3rd worst in AL). Sure is helping that cushion out.

Bwahaha Tribe 4.5 games in front Good start for May.
Right now, all of baseball is a horse race. The worst team is only 11 games out . Thats the WhiteSuxs and the media is already talkin bout Ozzie being goner status. Life is good.
