I would have to say no and no.

McCardell has gotten too old to be anything more than depth for a year, and as for Bledsoe....with our current line.....isn't there some sort of law againt abusing senior citizens?

I wouldn't want either one of them, though I thought it was sad when we lost KM. Never did like Bledsoe... merely posted as a point of interest.

The Chargers released, or indicated that the following players contracts were not being renewed.

McCardell
Foley
Edwards
Kiel

They indicated that they are trying to resign

Dielman
Polk
Godfrey
Withrow

They signed Lorenzo Neal to a 3 year extension.

They Tendered Turner with a first and third round selection.

AJ Smith was rather passionate about trying to get Dielman resigned. But Dielmans value of the FA market may be signiciantly higher than the Chargers offer.

I would like to have Bledsoe, but with our line, I know it won't happen. With or without Stein, or maybe Blalock in the 2nd, the line wouldn't be enough.

As for McKardell, no.

"I would like to have Bledsoe,"

I have visted your beautiful city, and I realize that time seems to stand still there beneath the swaying palm trees. But,this is the year 2007,10 years have gone by since Bledsoe was a decent QB.

WE GOTTA GET MCCARDELL!!!

1) He can teach young receivers to stay focused and play the game.
2) Still a threat on 3rd down with great hands.
3) Did I forget to mention he can keep receivers in check?

Look, he's not going to give you 1000 yards anymore, but he'd be great in the slot, especially if Wilson doesn't pan out. We need a guy who's professional who can tutor our guys. We've got JJ, but he's never been a downfield guy that could help Edwards.

For vet minimum, I'd sign him in a heartbeat.

JJ fills the role Kennan would, dude. We're OK at receiver: Joe, Braylon, Cribbs hopefully gets a little better, and this is the year Wilson might start making some noise.

As for Drew Bedsore, his strong arm is enticing, but the rest of him (no mobility, can't pull the trigger fast enough, etc.) aren't enticing.

I want Drew here.

I dont want Drew to touch the field, but I want Drew here. And theres 2 reasons why. Tom Brady and Tony Romo.

I want Drew here, pay him starters money to tutor Charlie and Derek, it would be 100% worth every penny. Sign him to a 2 year contract, and after two years, offer him a buttload of money to be our QB Coach

Yeah, that way the money doesn't count against the cap. No way do I want him as a roster spot and $$$ against the cap.

Coach fine, player no.
