I don't remember if I liked Pickler or not,, frankly, I just started to pay attention to American Idol for the first time since the first season,,, so I missed a lot in between..
Last night she was good,, I liked her so I guess I agree with you.. I remember seeing her at one point during the compeition,,, thought she was hot but didn't remember her vocals..Like I said, I didn't pay that much attention at that point..
One thing struck me,,, She sure appeared to be sporting new FRONTAL equipment,,,, Man, it's been a long time since I saw her, but I NEVER remember those things at all,,,,,LOL

I've been changing the stations to avoid that garbage song. They have a hook and run it into the ground " It's not ooooover " all the while I'm thinking please God let it be over already.
Worse yet, it's on 4 major stations up here - 104, 106.5, 96.5, and for whatever reason WMMS. I cannot wait until it runs it's course. I'm still upset that clown ruined Wanted Dead or Alive a few months back.

That song last night was TERRIBLE! It didn't hook me into it, in fact, I wanted to change the channel on the tv, but didn't have the remote. I'm sure she'll be a fine country singer, but that song was dreadful.
The hair and makeup just did not work on her last night. I thought it made her look at least twice her age. Though, her boob job looks great. Or maybe that dress on her just made it so I mostly just stared at her boobs. Holy cow!

I always tease brides-to-be, that the first thing they do once they get married, is cut off all their hair. Bo Bice was a runner up. So was that Justin guy in the first season who did nothing.
Kellie finished sixth. Where people tend to be very easily forgotten. So yeah, it is a big deal. Especially if you understand the way country music works. It's all about the fans, their real fans don't care about Idol. She also just landed the Brad Paisley tour - a huge deal.
As for Daughtry - I didn't like him on the show. Then I heard the record and got laughed at when I said it was 6 songs deep (meaning if the label wants they easily have 6 radio hits on the record). It's very well written. It's like an album of Nickleback hits (you might not like Nickleback - but Chad Kroeger can write the hits - his hooks are great). Last check his record was still at #2.
The fat black girl won an oscar - it had nothing to do with album sales, it was her performance in a movie. Good for her - she utilized Idol to her advantage. Though I had no idea who she was when the talk started because most her finish out of the top 4 fade away.
As for Taylor and Mcphee - they will get the guaranteed sales from Idol -only on this run. Both albums are horrendously written.
The original conversation on this which got me banned from the old board was about sale-ability. People told me I had no idea what I was speaking about and somebody was ignorant enough to say they were happy I lost the job I loved in a merger and that obviously it meant I knew nothing about music. Which is why I felt the need to start this thread. This board obviously hasn't changed which is why I stayed away after the last suspension, when you are right people won't admit they were wrong - instead they rip on you (this isn't directed towards you BP - I always liked you).
Whether or not you like her voice isn't what matters, it's about the marketability. Idol this year blew it when they booted Bailey off before the audience votes - she was a country dream.
