Big news here in Raleigh this morning as it was announced that Chuck Amato, the head football coach at NC State was fired this morning. With this occurance and the fact that Bill Cowher just built a new house here in Raleigh leads me to think that he might be headed here to Raleigh to coach.

He is a NC State Grad as is his wife. Wouldn't that be something: Cowher vs. Butch Davis.......

Quite frankly if the Browns job opens up I hope he takes it rather than the NC State job.

Can't say it wouldn't be good, but we would be in for another long rebuild while Bill gets his "players" in here.

I don't believe that. I think Savage and Cowher share the same philosophy in terms of drafting and player evaluation.

Well, if they're the "same," or even close, Savage has a lot to learn from Cowher in my book.

Not discounting the job he did in Baltimore, where perhaps Oz should get more credit,...

Way to early to compare the two... Cowher inherited a .500 team that was fundamentally decent... Savage inherited crap. And I'm not sure who made draft decisions for the Steelers in '92 and '93, but in looking up their drafts, there aren't really any big time studs in the first few rounds.. some decent players but no studs.

Oh as far as Cowher going to NC State... why in the hell would he do that?
