Most overhyped storm ever here in Dayton last night lol.

Everyone was freaking out. I was at the store, and the girlfriend called me, freaking out to get home cuz of all the tornado warnings and whatnot that were out.

It ended up raining all of 5 minutes lol.

Look on the bright side, at least you got home in time to watch the Red Sox win.

Didn't watch much of the game last night.

I was too busy watching the Lightning lose

If you are back in the Tulsa area, you need to be thinking of a place to shelter that is underground this afternoon.

With all of the innocent death and destruction of tornadoes from NC to TN to MO to OK and all parts in between, would it be too much to ask for one to swing through and take out the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas? Is it even Christian of me to wish for such a thing?

They give Christians a very bad name...

Did anyone else see what Lisa Lampanelli did with that "Church"? (Lisa is also known as the "Insult Comic" but I can't link to the story from here because she uses a TON of profanity.) Anyway, she had a show in Topeka and the WBC said they were going to protest her show. She said fine, but for every one of you that shows up, I'm donating $1000 to (can't remember the name) a gay men's AIDS foundation in the name of the WBC and request that they send individual thank you notes to the church. Her people counted 44 protesters outside her show. She's donating $50K. Thought it was a nice push back to the WBC.

Anyway, Looks like the severe weather isn't through with us yet. Ugh! Friends were supposed to come for dinner with us tonight, but they decided to cancel due to weather concerns - they live about an hour from here. In the end, we decided to meet in the middle and keep an eye on the sky while we're there.

I've seen Lampanelli on those roast shows and she's ok.. can't say I'd pay much to see her in person though... that is a neat way to turn it on the WBC people..

For everyone in the Cincinnati-Dayton areas, Lima in western Ohio and in the Cleveland area, there are tornado warnings for all 3 areas.

Confirmed EF-1 tornadoes around me last night. One in Greene County (where I live, but wasn't home) and another in neighboring Clark County.

Tulsa, glad your in-laws are okay and let us know how you make it through tonight.

Also, just a quick suggestion to pay attention to the weather tomorrow....especially those of us in the western half of the state. Could be a very ugly day with wind, hail, and tornadoes.

My MIL, God Bless Her.....she is 92....called asking about the weather. She thought it was bad in the area.....the reality is it is very nice, but hot.....maybe 90 today.

One of the things that make Ohio a decent place to live,...no possible natural disasters outside of a tornado,...maybe an earthquake, and that is very unlikely.

Meteorites would be capable of hitting anywhere,....

I'm talking the really bad stuff -- heatwave, tsunami, hurricane, mudslide, volcano, avalanche, wildfire,....

We do have our share of flooding,...

I knew a girl who lived in Richmond once upon a time. She moved there ... and I went to see her once.

What a long ass drive from Youngstown. That stretch from Columbus to Indiana was unholy .... especially with road construction.

No actually not. That's what we do around here.

We hear them so often during this time of year it's commonplace to go out and look and run into your neighbors who are looking too.

WTF is with this severe weather? I don't recall a season with this darn many tornadoes and so many of them being so darn destructive.

My friends in Warren, OH told me they saw some rotation in some clouds less than a mile from their home. He's really involved with the Weather Service and said that last night was the first time in 30 years he's actually felt that he needed to seek cover. They spent a good chunk of time in their basement. If Bry was worried, then I'm worried. I trust his instincts when it comes to this stuff.

I've been looking at pictures and video of the incredible tornado damage done in Joplin, Missouri...I believe it is the worst I have ever seen. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the recent storms.

Some of the stories are heartbreaking..I can't stop thinking about the HS senior, driving home from his graduation ceremony...

Search for Joplin High School senior expands to Kansas City

05/24/2011

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The search for a Joplin teenager swallowed up into the tornado Sunday has expanded to the Kansas City area.

Will Norton's family continued their desperate search at all the major metro hospitals Tuesday.

Friends and family still have no idea where 18-year-old Will is located. He's nowhere to be found, days after the tornado sucked him out of his car.

The Joplin High School senior was on his way home from graduation.

The tornado bore down as Will and his father were heading home from his high school graduation Sunday evening.

A seatbelted Will was driving and his father was in the passenger seat.

As the storm approached, a relative said his father, Mark, called Will's sister who was just a few minutes ahead.

Will's second cousin Toni Cox told NBC Action News, "They were in the house. He said we're less than a mile away."

But the twister touched down before they arrived.

Cox said, "While on the phone he said 'oh there's -- very upset -- the tornado'. We'll pull over and then she didn't hear anything further."

When emergency crews arrived to the car it was a mangled mess. Will's Hummer was unrecognizable.

Mark was rushed to the hospital. Will was nowhere to be found.

Cox said, "When Mark regained consciousness he said he had tried to hold onto Will. His seatbelt had snapped and he was sucked out through the sunroof of their Hummer 3 they were driving."

Will was gone in a flash. He had disappeared with the nearly 200 mph winds.

The search for Will has gone on for days in the Joplin debris and has now expanded to Kansas City.

Family members are dropping off fliers to metro hospitals with Will's photo just in case those hospitals receive any more unidentified John Does.

The family said Will has dreams of being in film. He just got accepted to Chapman College in Orange, California.

On Sunday, injured patients were rushed to hospitals in several states so Will's family is hoping someone might recognize will in our area.

If you think you have a lead, email the family at findwillnorton@gmail.com or go to the Facebook page Help Find Will Norton .

The storm system responsible for the Joplin tornado is moving into the Ohio area today...be alert...be safe.

What a day...no less than 4 tornado warnings, wind, hail, lightening, heavy rain.

The good news...to my knowledge, there have been no tornado touchdowns in the northern-western part of Ohio, but I did hear of a semi truck that was blown over on I-75, north of Lima.

Somewhere near Toledo, baseball size hail was reported..a Toledo station showed the roof of a car that took a beating by the hail...looked like someone took a sledge hammer to it.

It looks as though tonight will continue to be stormy with the possibility of severe weather until tomorrow evening. The worst of the storm appears to be in Illinois at this time. Just heard, we are now under a flood warning with 4 to 5 inches of rain expected in some areas.

Stay tuned to your local weather.

It got nasty here - lightning, high winds, torrential rain........and my wife called me: "what's up?" I said "do you have the radio on? Do you have the weather radio on?" Her answers were "no", and "no".

Well, what are you doing? Her: Satellite went out. I can't watch t.v. Me: is the power out? Her: No. me: Turn the damn weather radio on, turn the local radio station on, why call me??????"

Just now she asked if we were to expect more storms tonight. I said "are you watching t.v, , listening to the weather radio?
Her reply was "Yeah". I said "So what are they saying, dearie".

Anyway, it looks like it will get dicey here later tonight. If I don't post by tomorrow - say 4:00 p.m.- something happened to me, my daughter, and possibly my wife.

So far, nothing but wind, too much rain, and tornado warnings. My daughter is worried, yet at the same time, when there's severe weather, she sleeps in our bedroom. That makes sooga happy. (my wife is gone at night - so it's just me and sooga, every night)

God Bless you all. Hope to be here in the a.m.
