No way in hell that kid was going in the 5th..........SI is always retarded. He was a 2nd-3rd round projection.

Little wasn't going in the 5th. No way no how.
And their projection of a 2 in the NFL is off too. Guy oozes talent and was really good in 09.
Not sure why people think he is a project either. He'll get his chance out of the gate.
you had a good run Hank.

Hmmm, Packers select Randall Cobb. Now THAT is a freaking scary WR corps that they have.

Agreed. Little has #1 WR talent, but the off the field stuff with the agent dropped him. Good news is he has no need to take money from an agent now, but will be giving it to him

Living in Wisconsin, it wasn't getting a lot of press, but I thought as a somewhat uninterested person, that they needed a receiver ...Driver is 37 and really dropped off last year b/c of injuries, James Jones is a free agent....that leaves Jennings and Nelson with not much behind them. Great pick

Look at some of the names that dropped out of round 2...
Justin Houston Ryan Mallet Martez Wilson Christian Ballard Quan Sturdivant Sam Acho Clint Boling Davon House Curtis Brown Jerrel Jernigan Leonard Hankerson Terrence Tolliver Allen Bailey Dontay Moch Brandon Burton Mason Foster Kenrick Ellis Drake Nevis Clint Boling
I like the pick in the first round, but would have loved to still have the #7 pick in the 3rd round...

Still sounds like we took a project in Rnd 2.
Maybe he is a bit of a project, due to inexperience but his measurables are off the charts.
6'3'' 230 LBS and ran a 4.45 40. 27 bench reps, 10'10'' broad jump, 40 inch vertical.
He could drop a little weight and stay at WR or add a little weight and move to TE / H-Back.
Ton of talent for a late 2nd. Great red zone target.
Yikes, that makes me think of Lawyer Tillman.
Seriously though, we needed a big physical receiver who can operate well in the red zone. Hopefully it works out.

Yup. I watched one Nevada game last year just to see him. He was amazingly fast, but also disappeared for quite a while. Once again, just one game.

Grateful Thanks for this post. Down here, we saw alot of him and I swear, all my carolina friends are scratching their heads at that pick. 4.54 = slow. Hands were questionable. The off field stuff was B.S. He got caught up with that party but other than that, there was NOTHING Special about that kid. He never really stood out when I watched Carolina games!!

Call me crazy but I could see New Orleans taking Mallet and letting him sit/mature for 2-3 years behind Brees

They just said that the Pats had him as their top rated QB.

I hope their projector is broken.
Scott Wright had him going 63 to the Steelers. Had Sheard at 56 to the Saints.

He runs a 4.45 at 220 lbs.......dude is physical freak. The biggest question about Little are of course the character concerns, and him being raw considering he only played 1 year at WR. The kid was considered a 1st rounder this time last year until he got into trouble. Physical talent has never even been discussed as an issue.........it's his biggest plus

Then Grateful, Look at the tape! The tape showed J.RIce running away from everyone! Down there at Miss Vally State, everyone was talking about the QB - W. Totten until they really saw the tape and noticed a certain receiver!

Looked bad at Senior Bowl and combine.
Plus, he's a MLB.
He got pushed waaaay down the projections over the past couple months.

Negatives: "Undersized, struggles taking on blocks, and is more of a drag down tackler. Marginal strength at the point."
Analysis: "Jones has been a tackling machine at Michigan State and is a highly competitive linebacker who plays smart football. He has size limitations, but if put in a system that protects linebackers, he should be a productive starter at the next level."
Projection: 3rd

Sheesh. I guess that settles that lol.. What about James Brewer?
Biography: Four-year starter awarded all-Conference honors as a senior.
Positives: "Nice-sized blocker who plays with terrific quickness. Immediately gets off the snap, blocks with a wide base, and displays better-than-average footwork in pass protection. Keeps his feet moving throughout the play, relatively quick, and gets his hands into defenders. Stays square, understands angles and body positioning, and uses them to seal defenders from the action. Strong and controls defenders once engaged in a block."
Negatives: "Not a natural knee bender and gets tall as the play proceeds. Stiff, struggles to adjust, and is best in a small area."
Analysis: "Brewer has strong-side tackle size yet better than average quickness in pass protection. He must polish his game, improve his flexibility, and consistently block with leverage. Brewer offers some upside and has an outside shot to break into a starting lineup in the near future."
Projection: 3rd
