Fox News reporting that he was killed while living in a mansion in central Pakistan, he was not in a cave, he was in a freaking mansion and it wasn't on the Pakistani border, it was near Islamabad.
Conflicting reports that he was killed at close range by a bullet.... if that's true whoever pulled the trigger is my hero.
Of course, the fact that he is dead doesn't upset me in the least, but this doesn't change anything with the current threat to the U.S., if anything this will cause a resurgence in their attempts. They love a good martyr. Bin Laden hasn't been in the loop for quite a while.....
I just had a similar discussion with some friends on fb. Part of me thinks it would have been better just to let him rot in his cave. He's been a non-factor for years now. On the other hand, it does bring some justice to those who lost loved ones in the 911 attacks.

Also, as far as Pakistan, do not think they there were some elements of the Pakistani gov HELPED the US.
Whether a symbolic victory or not, it IS important- for the families who lost loved ones, for the servicemen and women who serve every day , and for the rest of the civilized world who lives in fear that these shadowy cowards cannot be stopped, caught, or brought to justice.
I think you're right, tho... we should take a moment to mark this accomplishment, then double-down on the vigilance and pressure.

This could get interesting between us and pakistan. If pakistan didn't know we were going after him, then we should be real harsh on pakistan.. but if they did allow us to go after him into the center of the country, then what will the muslim world do with pakistan?
Please, We did not do anything in Pakistan, especially in Islamabad WITHOUT some Pakistani help. Now do they really want to be known that they helped us, maybe not. But do not think that some body or small group in that country helped out. Either gave us the info or just looked the other way!
I believe a guy on CNN said that Pakistan was saying that this was part of a joint mission. I might of misheard though ... you know how I am with contractions.
I am really interested to hear how this played out. I can't see any way where we could have done this without Pakistani help. However if we did do this alone it would further prove to me that the Bush Doctrine was the right route to go.
It would also show me that no matter what Obama has said publicly he is willing to do whatever it takes to defend this country whether legal or not.
Tonight I remember those who died Sep11th 2001 and hope they rest a little easier... I'm also saddened to be reminded how much some people hate the great country I live in... God bless the USA and continue to protect those who protect it.

President Obama said that it was a compound when a team of Americans went in after him (aka Special Forces). Said there was a firefight with no American causalities and we have the body.
Wonder which special forces branch got it to go in. I bet there was some kind of bidding war for that mission.
He is the Commander and Chief!! He was the one who gave the go ahead. And I swear, for one second, can you all just admit, he worked with everyone involved and GOT IT DONE!!. .. End of story, case closed.
