no Grady tonight. he left the ballpark to get a MRI on his non-surgery knee. hope everything is okay as people who push back from injury often overcompensate and hurt their other leg.

Yeah, rough day today. Pitching and hitting look to have had a rough day. Carasco's first start coming off the DL isn't one to remember, that's for sure. Kinda glad I slept through it.

Looks like nobody decided to show up today. Lazy fielding and Masterson looks like dog crap. As I type this, they blow a sure double play because Hannahan couldn't field a routine grounder.

is losing Grady really this important to the team?
really though, we've been so good for so long, we were in for a slump. better for it to happen against a team fighting the Yankees than a divisional team fighting with us.

Got a couple runs on the board (down 5-2 now) but another inning ends with Shields picking off a sleeping baserunner.

3 innings left to make up 3 runs ...... that's doable.
Let's go Tribe!

Wow, so bad. Santana with the lackadaisical passed ball to let the runners advance, then Joe Smith gives up the bases clearing double.

Down 7-3 will be difficult ... but I'm not giving up yet!

OK ... well .... closed it to 7-4 ..... but the Indians lose their first home series since the beginning of the year.
Time to start a new streak tomorow against Seattle.

Don't look now but Justin Verlander is 1/3 of the way through to completing the Vander Meer. It won't happen....but if it did, WOW!
Tribe up 2-0 on Seattle in the 4th.

Oh .. and for all of the talk about how weak the AL Central is .... it's 1 of only 2 divisions with 3 teams with at least 20 wins right now.

The only reason people think the AL Central is bad is because the teams at the top aren't the right teams.. if the Sox had the Tribes record and then the Twins and Tigers were chasing nobody would say a word.. heck it's like if the Browns and Bengals both won 11 games next year and the Steelers and Ravens won 5... people would say the AFCN was weak...

Incidentally, Hafner hit the shnikees out of that pitch ... about 420 feet, I'd say.

totally agree.
cause if you really think about it, how can you say what division is weak and which isn't? it's still way early.
anyone who is crapping on the weakness of a division at this point is just being a hater.

Non Indians related but what the hell is going on with Jose Bautisa? Is there any way this guy isn't seeing Manny Ramirez' physician? Buatista had 59 career home runs in 6 major league seasons and then just wakes up one day and hits 54? Already has another 16 this season, in just 109 AB's.

I thought last year would be just like Brady Anderson's 50 HR season. Stayed away from him in fantasy baseball. Regretting that.
Joe Thomas made Justin Timberlake change his name. He didn't want wusses to have the same initials...

That is quite suspicious ..... but they do have (supposedly) random drug testing ....so hopefully if he is doing steroids, he gets busted.
To me that would be probably cause for a drug test. Anytime a guy suddenly adds massive strength and power that he's never shown at all at any time prior in his career ..... well .... weights only do so much. This is especiallty suspicious given that his batting average for last year's monster season really wasn't much higher than his career average.
Guys usually don't become premium power hitter at age 30 without help ......

The guy doesn't look like he'd doing roids to me although I'm no expert... but he's not a big guy. He didn't rapidly gain bulk like Sosa, McGwire and Bonds. A couple of years ago his hitting coach did something to radically change Bautista's swing (can't remember, I think it was his bat angle or how he held his hands while in his stance, but not really sure). It clicked for him almost immediately.

As a Pirates fan, Bautista is beyond maddening to me.
The guy did nothing - nothing - while in Pittsburgh, gets traded for Robinson Diaz a backup catcher at the time who's no longer in the organization and Bautista blows up.
I'm convinced the dude is on something. You're not a Peralta/Marte type player for 6-7 years then turn into a HR machine without something.

Nothing like spending a sunny summer day or warm summer night indoors. In fact I say we get a petition together and have the Indians put a roof on Jacobs field.

I would definitely be in favor of a retractable roof when Jacobs field is ready to be replaced. The first 2 months could be brutal to watch a baseball game in cleveland.

Milwaukee did it right with Miller Park. Great looking stadium, can play any night they want. Should be mandatory for teams not in the Western part of the states.

CLEVELAND -- The Indians said Monday the club has placed outfielder Grady Sizemore on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 11 for a right knee contusion.
The Indians have recalled Travis Buck from Columbus to take Sizemore's place while he is injured.
Sizemore hurt his knee sliding into second base during a game against the Tampa Bay Rays on May 10.
He is eligible to come off the DL on May 26.
The Indians now have four players on the disabled list (Crowe, Goedert, Sizemore, Talbot).
Buck will be in uniform tonight in Kansas City.
