WTF is up with Our Love of Trump?

I think the real question is ... WTF is wrong with our media?

He's a celebrity, he says controversial stuff, is a known face, and can get people to talk about him (good or bad) ... that equals media face time.

Honestly, I'll admit I watched his show for the first few seasons, but it had absolutely nothing to do with Trump. I just liked the concept from a businessman standpoint ... where you would put yourselves into the contestants shoes and say ... "what would I do here to earn the most money or win this challenge", and then see if the kind of choices you would of made are used by the winning team or not.

I always secretly hoped one of the contestants would tell off Trump if they ever got fired at the end of the show, or the guy that actually won would just decline the job and say he'd never work for a bum like him.

After a couple seasons, the show inevitably degraded into the usual reality-tv backstabbing/soap-opera stuff, and Trump's ego started taking center stage, which made it pretty much unwatchable.

I do not find Donald Trump even remotely interesting...

Did you listen to or read any of his political ideas as he was thinking about running?

He is a fascinating business man and the stories behind some of his deals, which I've read, are pretty interesting. He is part businessman, part showman and he's pretty good at both. I've not watched much of his show but I know if you take him and then put on 8 or 10 other "celebrities" who are in competition with each other you are going to get viewers.. perhaps a better question is this.. why do these otherwise successful people agree to be on his show? Why do they agree to sit there and let him talk down to them? Why do they fight it our over money and fame that most of them don't need?

Trump admitted in one of his book a long time ago, don't remember which one, that he artificially creates controversy around his projects. For example if the code in a particular area where he wants to build a building has a height restriction of 400 ft, he will purposely design a 450 ft building and submit it for zoning approval, then make a big splash in the media when it gets rejected about how unfair it is.. this creates controversy around the building, he will work to keep the building in the news until its built and then people will want to see it.

Remember the flag on his property in Florida? The guy is just a genius at keeping himself relevant and in front of the media... that in and of itself is great to watch.

Why do ANY of us find this dude of any interest whatsoever?

I think it's a lot like driving down the highway and you come upon an accident site.. instead of keeping your eyes straight up, you start to peer over into the wrecked vehicles to see if you can see blood and gore.

Rubbernecking is the technical term I think..

Anyway, I really don't understand it any better than I understand the fascination with Arnold Swartsanagger and his break up with Maria.

it's almost like, who cares.

Whats worse is, I'm the damn fool idiot that started this thread...
