California will yank the medical license of the Beverly Hills fertility doctor who implanted 12 embryos into "Octomom" Nadya Suleman three years ago. Dr. Michael Kamrava will lose his license effective July 1, said the state Medical Board, in a decision more severe than an administrative law judge's recommendation that Kamrava get probation for five years. At a hearing last year, Kamrava apologized for implanting the embryos into Suleman instead of referring the 33-year-old unemployed single mother of six to a mental-health evaluation. The board found that Kamrava "did not exercise sound judgment" in treating Suleman and two other patients – a 48-year-old who had complications after becoming pregnant with quadruplets and a 42-year-old who contracted ovarian cancer after fertility treatments. The board found that Kamrava "committed gross negligence, repeated negligent acts, and incompetence." Kamrava's attorneys had argued that Suleman could have terminated some of the fetuses, that the negative publicity surrounding the Octomom case is a sufficient deterrent, and that Kamrava had learned his lesson Linky-dinky-do

Not a surprise, really. Didn't even know about the other stuff with the doc, but ANY doc that wouldn't suggest counseling to octomom in that situation should at least have a suspension.
Girl already had 6 kids, was single, unemployed. How did he think she was going to pay him, let alone support even ONE more child? If anyone was clearly in need of a psych eval. it's octomom.

Of course he wouldn't recommend counseling. He wouldn't make any money from that.

He didn't make money on her anyway. How the hell could she pay him without a job?

Eh, sometimes you do things like this for free because of the people who hear about you and come to you for this type of thing. Then, you charge them a lot for your "expertise."
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

True enough, but I'm sure he did not get his full rate from the government that he would have from a private citizen. At least, that would be my guess.
I guess my real question is, did this doctor deserve to have his license revoked, or should he, as his lawyers hoped, have been suspended for like 5 years instead? Keeping in mind that Octomom isn't his only issue.

Poor guy was just confused.
When first approached he said, "8, you want 8 kids, only dogs have 8 offspring!", then he took a good look at her face and thought, "okay, this could work..."

Maybe he got pick of the litter? I mean a stud fee is one thing . . . but this was ridiculous in the extreme. Whole thing was gross. He must have been awfully awful to have the Left Coast yank his license. Woman had to be insane to do this as well.

Tulsa, that is an insult to most dogs. They are more affectionate and take care of their offspring better than this woman.
